I don't know if Jamie reads these comments but I'd like to say a big thank you to you, I bought your book ministry of food and cooked my wife the sweet and sour pork, she actually thought I bought the food from a takeaway or something, I'm not the best cook in the world and this book helped, instructions were so easy to follow, oh and my wife loved it, so a big thank you.
This looks seriously nice! I just had a Tesco savers Fisherman's Pie because it's the first week of the month...yeah....skint. Planning to make over the next fortnight. Love Jamie's stuff. He makes it so simple.
I can't cook! I made this last night and it got wiped out by the family. Next time I plan to cut the veg instead of using a cheese grater. I am going to try the apple pie recipe next.
I made this pie using haddock and cod fillet. It was good but there seemed to be too much liquid at the bottom once they're done at 40 minutes making it a little soggy. Hmmm I wonder if I did something wrong....
Was told the other day I was having this round my mum's house. I was really looking forward to it as I love fish pie. I thought it was revolting. Was expecting a nice creamy fishy sauce but it was all healthy with nonsense in it. Smothered it in mayo just to get something creamy from it. If I'd known it was this recipe I would've asked her to make something else. She wasn't keen on it either. Bloody Jamie trying to shove vegetables down our throats to make things healthy as usual. If you liked it then good for you. Can't please everyone.
Just made this .. delicious. works very well, great recipe although .. he says ..'don't gotta use a single knife shortly before he chops the parsley... eh. with a knife.'
I live on an island in Hong Kong and we also have octopus, squid and dried cuttlefish. it is incredibly expensive to buy fresh cod, prawns and haddock here. You're wrong to assume its only you .So stop patronising!
I get everything but the tomatoes. They defenately don't belong in a fish pie. I understand Oliver wants to put his own mark on the cooking world, put his own twists to it, but just don't mess up classics, and have it with (low fat) cream like it should be.
Before you try cooking it and tasting it - don't use expressions as 'mess up a classic'. It's people like him that think outside the box that make a difference!
All the great chefs can "think outside the box". That's not the issue. The issue is that some flavour combinations are classic for a reason and some things are never put together. I am not knocking Jamies recipe - I am just saying that at higher levels of cooking it's pointless to be talking about inside or outside the box. Like Marco says - most of the truly great combos have been established already and what is left is refinement. It's not as simple as just throwing in a tomato for fun. We can all do that and get away with it. But sometimes a tomato will spoil something greater that you have just built and you will now have a lesser dish with a sense of novelty that may not be truly merited. It's not that people shouldn't experiment and have fun - it's just, what level of professionalism are we arguing at. Jamie is arguably more of a great popularizer, than he is a great chef as in GREAT, but of course he should expect him to know what he is doing.
For goodness sakes! He said at the beginning that this dish was a million miles away from a traditional fish pie! If you don't like it, then go and watch a different video teaching the same old fish pie!
Just leave it out then fcol, wow; didn't he say 'make it your own'? Some people hey?!!!!!!! xD And he is a great chef; that's like saying he cannot make fine food for a-la carte, which is factually ridiculous lol
Hey Mr. Oliver! I'm a big fan of your tv series "quick and easy" and the others. But I'll have to say you something! Why you have always touching and mixing all the ingredients with your sticky, grabby and Lickey fingers????? It's so diskusting, I get throw out when I see this, and be sure, many other people too.... try a fork or something else,it's so quik and easy...😉
Interesting recipe. Too much salt. Smoked haddock is salt enough. Can always add salt at table for those who like really salty food. Use fork to mix ingredients rather than hands. Otherwise, great recipe ! Thanks
Why did he say, "One whole lemon juice,..."? His fish pie looks like a total disaster and I certainly would not make it for anybody and that is with over 50 years as a chef. 'nuf sed. plamuk aka travellingchef

Just finished this recipe and my mum and dad loved it!!😍😋❤️️
I love this recipe,
everything about it,
esp. the mash with no milk

Easy to make and is a great dish, all the family enjoyed this fish pie.

you are my chef .....
toda tus creaciones culinarias me encantan siempre te veo en canal cocina .
Made this last night. Was epic! I used extra mature cheddar cheese which was amazing.
Really how amazinZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The tomatoes add moistness and a slight sharpness combined with the lemon juice! It's really fishy but fresh and light! Delicious!
the best and easiest fish pie to make!
Beautiful
No knife skills required but he starts chopping parsley with a knife
Noticed that too but you can always use kitchen scissors - they work really well with herbs if your knife skills are no better than average.
Oh WoW. That looks delicious. 🌹💟💟🌹
Nice advice! I winked at my fishmonger and he swung for me.
Ha ha love old Jamie says it like it is I ain’t got no knive skills so I use the grater no one knows the difference 🙏❣️
This was in Rotherham right?
Big up rotherham
I’ve done myself more damage with a grater than I ever have with my blunt chefs knife! Nice recipe!
Que rico nutritivo. Eres un grandioso cocinero. Donde se pueden comprar tus libros.
Gracias. Desde Mexico.
what would you serve it with?
I am making this for my catering exam and i was wondering what kind of dairy could i add in this??
There is cheese and butter in it.
Mega
Yummy
I can't cook! I made this last night and it got wiped out by the family. Next time I plan to cut the veg instead of using a cheese grater. I am going to try the apple pie recipe next.

What happens to keeping it simple Jamie?
Another fish pie in the ministry.
I made this pie using haddock and cod fillet. It was good but there seemed to be too much liquid at the bottom once they're done at 40 minutes making it a little soggy. Hmmm I wonder if I did something wrong....
You're damn genius! I have a german book from you! =-D ("cooking for friends" (?))
Go the fish monger and have a conversation and a wink.... sooo funny

Take up spear fishing. Saw me halfway through university, foodwise. Not kidding either.
Grab a stick, some line and a hook
Farm Foods: 3/4 packs for a tenner. Each pack has about 4 medium sized fillets. Iceland’s the same I think.
Rolls and fish pie from the Russian oven Булочки и рыбный пирог из русской печки
This seems a very strange fish pie recipe having no kind of sauce ie milk/cream with the fish ingredients?
Before the video started, I thought 'I bet he'll ruin this with loads of extra veg and salad!' He always does...
Just made this .. delicious. works very well, great recipe although .. he says ..'don't gotta use a single knife shortly before he chops the parsley... eh. with a knife.'
"Don't need to use a knife"
Then uses one to cut up the fish! Hahah
to cut the veggies he was grinding at the time...
guy simply loves olive oil!!!!!
have u seen the price of cod and prawns,,, not to mention haddock
When this video was make 5 years ago, our oceans were not quite as poisoned as they are now. Aka, the price in current $$$.
You're lucky to be able to get cod and haddock --- i live on a Greek island and all I can get is bloody octopus and squid. So stop moaning!
I live on an island in Hong Kong and we also have octopus, squid and dried cuttlefish. it is incredibly expensive to buy fresh cod, prawns and haddock here. You're wrong to assume its only you .So stop patronising!
Well at least you CAN get them ---- I can't.
You can get fish mix
he drizzled a shitload of olive oil in that pie,no wonder his name jamie oliver.
I've tried grating celery, it always ends in disaster!
200 degrees is way too hot
salad
"one whole lemon juice, squeezed"
So much salt! Cheese isn't salty enough?
"Some people like more potatoes" Just admit you didn't boil enough potatoes Jamie lol
Jimbb
yes, too much liquid from the vegetable
If you love fingernail scurf you will love this Pie. Where is your decorum Jamie?

Looks over complicated for a fish pie
This is very simplified for the completely inept cook, I suppose.
bad quality
Why oh why do you have to pull such silly faces yuk
