I have a question when you buy abandon land do you have to keep paying for it like you would if you would if you were simply renting a land from someone
technicly even if u buy land ur still renting it as u still have to pay the tier. you buy the land from either an estate agent or from lindon and they run the servers which u pay for in the tier for keeping them up and running. its never trully ur land cause if u fall behind on the tier the land gets taken away from u and put up for sale. last place i owned was 1/4 homestead 1L$ to buy it then 2200 a week tier for 1250 prims. Current place is a full homestead 5990 to buy it but it covered the 1st weeks tier and the tier is 5990 per week for 5k prims so the land was actualy free. diff with buying as some places u get estate owner rights some places u dont. the 1/4 didnt have estate manager rights the full 1 does. Buying a parcel u wont get estate manager rights so limits on what u can do with the land. with estate manger rights u can change the usage of the land and have it mixed as residental and bussiness if u want. So if i wanted i could split the land into parcels and have my private housing area for me and my family and open up the rest of it for public use by putting in beaches and clubs. lots of land u have to create a group and invite family and freinds to the group if u want them to set ur place as home. Its why u might see some tags with owner or member. those r private family groups with invite only and u wont see them in searches for groups. Lots of land for sale or rent at the mo as more land than their is ppl using SL right now. lots of empty rental places as well. so u can pick up bargains if u hunt around as the estate agents r losing money with empty land siting around that they have to pay the tier on. 1 sim i go to a lot is losing money as they have nearly all their rentals empty. think they have about 30 rentals and only 3 rented out. and those r to family members of the owner.

You would pay tier to linden labs monthly as a premium member. Depending how much land you have that’s how much you pay.
