even if u buy the land ur stil only really renting it as u still have to pay the tier for it. if u fail to pay the tier the land gets taken away from u and u dont get the money back u paid to buy it. U could buy a full region direct from Lindon labs which would give u 20 or 30K prims but u still have to pay the tier every week or it gets taken away from u and classed as abandoned land. dont need premium to buy land or rent land. u can buy a full region without premium but the tier will cost more as the premium account will pay for some of the tier. But if u wanted to buy a full homestead u wil have to buy a full region 1st. so its bgeter to just rent a full homsestad as u will get 5k prims with that and have full privacy as no one can get in unless u put them on the access list and no neighbours to worry about and u can terraform it to how u want it and no restritions on what u can build in it. For mine i terraford it so i had water al around it to sail my boat around the land. parcelled it so i could have my home in 1 part and built a club in the other part. But before renting check the covenant as some do have restritions on what u can build in it and where. mine has no covent so can do whatever i like with it. I can sell it to anyone i want to or just hand it back to the estate manager as even though i bought it from an estate manger its relly only rented. Thats 1 thing to look out for when u buy land as it says ur buying it but on most cases ur actualy only renting it. Even if u buy a full region and pay lindon around $300 for it its still only rented not bought as they can take it back at anytime if u break LL TOS or dont pay the tier on time. All ur doing is buying the land but still have to pay the tier as the land is running fro the LL servers so u have to pay rent for using that and the more prims u have to use the higher the running costs will be. IE u might buy land from LL direct which is cheaper but then still have to pay rent to LL for the running costs of the server which is about 1LS per prim per week on top of the cost of buying the land. Some of that cost will be reduced with having premium. My homstead i bought from an estate manager for L$ 5990 which gave me the 1st weeks tier included in the price then L$5990 per week tier. eve thiugh it said for sale its actualy still renting as its still not mine and can be taken away if i forget to pay the tier in time.. 1 of my friends paid out $300 real money to buy a region with 30k prims and still has to pay L$30k a week for the tier. its why so many sims have donation jars to help cover the costs of the tier. plus the cost of buying or getting things made to put on the land. plus it could take weeks to build in it before u can open it to let anyone in to start using it.
