Hi, Marty. Just finished rewatching this feed twice on the big screen. Personally by adding a touch of weight below the center of the gravity point will help settle the car. Good call. Then , IMO opinion, I prefer to break the motor in under load, meaning on the track while lapping the track and while making changes as one goes. Just my opinion. Have to say the car runs really well. That car loves the track it's running on.. Marty, don't let the channel run You. Small steps.. Take time for some fun. don't let it become a competition for content. Let it be content of good chat, friends, and what you are learning and the experiences along the way. Keep doing what you want.. keep having fun. , thanks for letting me and others into your home and life..thank you,.Sir
Great looking car, beautiful slides through the essess! What I would like to see from tuning videos are test runs fresh from the box, then have you describe what you feel the car is lacking before the tune, how it feels after your tune followed by a comparison of pre-tune and post tune times. I think it would provide a better understanding of what the tune provides and why you have made those modifications.
Thanks! Might have to get one. Ive been tuning on a KTM Oxbow, some Super Tires, and a Piranha motor....Which makes it a handful on the tight track here, but with concentration the thing is getting faster. Ive had KTM 2 wheelers since the early 80's so had to have the car.
@@twolinesslotcars Today, things changed, I did 350 laps with the C8 Vette with no magnets, and it was a blast!....I was only starting to get the hang of it, really fun.
That's running fast and smooth, Marty. I'd say you are approaching optimal. The rear tyres are helping a lot. There's still some 'negative k' dialled in (oversteer) and, as you say, this is causing some drift, but yours is a silent sounding gear mesh and there's no bumping or porpoising on your latest and improved layout and so it must be fun to drive. If you look at what Harry has posted then there's a case for stiffening the chassis using piano wire and as your Carrera is so smooth and flat then a stiffer chassis may be where it is at? Aside from these things it's the case of maybe just playing with the weight distribution and seeing just how far you can push back over the drive wheels without destroying the overall balance and causing it to then deslot. Maybe some assymetric distribution across the width too as your lefts appear to be a lot faster and to go on longer than your rights. One thing is for sure mind: all this is great fun :)
Darren, i am really enjoying the car. I need to order some piano wire.. not sure I can get that locally. That will be my next thing to try. Harry 's video is great!
Marty- seems like little by little your getting that car dialed in.. Im not a Ford guy- but the car looks sweet! Looks like by putting your added weight down the middle, makes the car respond pretty neutral..Great job.
@@twolinesslotcars Yea- give me a few more weeks to save up some more " retiree" money.... and maybe I'll get to experience my first Thunderslot Expedience.- ha
I am the same.. as much as I love Shelby’s.. I was never excited to own one as a slot car.. just know they would not be a great performing cars.. more of shelf queen. But I knew that Thunderslot would do it right.. and they did.
Hi Marty, I love the Mustang, its a sweet car. I'm kinda bummed that I bought the Carrera Mustang with the larger wheels since nobody makes aftermarket tires for it. Im learning.... I have a question more about your mantenance space/desk. I am going to build something for myself and would like to know what you like/dislike about your workspace? What you wished you had or maybe what you wished you did differently? Potentially another topic for discussion on a live stream Thanks, Gene
Gene, it is a great car. As for my workspace, it has become a TH-cam content creation/car tuning station.. which presents lots of issues. I don’t really like it the way it is, it is seems to work for now. I think that you need good lighting so you can see well. Organization for your tools. A good place to store cars and good access to your track. Again, I am not happy with my space, but I am not sure how I would do it different. When I start scratch building.. that will create other issues..
@@twolinesslotcars I have a table set up downstairs from the track, with bright lighting, and enough space to work on cars. There isnt room where my track is. Im using the basic big tackle box for tools/parts/cars to be worked on. Not fancy but it works. Portable.
My GTD application went in today at 12:35pm. We are seeing thunder air tires fall off some pair shaped defective tires also oxidized rim bead so zero QC.
We (Chris) and I just love watching the show. We are just getting going but I have alot of cars and extra corners. We are still in track construction and Tuning new cars for HOST NE. Big race next week. Rotation B (3 FAST) Classes. Including open motor! Yike
I REALLY like the new layout
Thanks Steve! We do too!
Saturday Yay!
Nice car good video. Thanks!
Glad you liked it! Thanks!

Thanks, I really needed to hear that…
Rite away tire went in garbage is way I like to spend $70 on a rtr? Is true tire garbage mine new rim is oxidized an is no fixing that but garbage?
I don't own a Thunderslot yet....their chassis looks nice and adjustable.
My favorite car is my Thunderslot Elva.. I recommend them.
You see anyone talking about the tire yet? Fyi get a set NSR if you order car
Nice car Marty, cannot wait to race door to door with you great review
Looking forward to it bro!
Nice job on the tuning!
Thanks Jorge! It is a fun car to drive!

Brad, the Xbow is a fantastic looking car.. you are making the right changes.. the Piranha motor will give it some pep… it is a heavy car.

Thanks 👍 Rhys!

Very helpful test and tune Marty. I think I’m going to have to get one of these Mustangs. If it’s as good as their other cars, it’ll be a winner.

I agree Clint. I might be getting the most out of it, but maybe there is a little bit more? It needs a thunderslot Camaro or Cuda to race with.. 😊

Much as I don't really go for road cars, I think one of these might go on my list

It is fantastic!
Hi Marty was wondering where can i get two carrera car boxes the cars that came with the set didn’t come with the nice jeweled cases thanks
That is a great question. Maybe Ebay? I don't know that I have seen jewel cases for sale...

The Thunderslot stock rubber tires? I use silicones.. swapped them out with super Tire 1403’s..
Thank you getting tires not always ez less part number. I need set tires bad.
You are chasing 100ths and thousandths now
Yes… you are correct
