Alan Jackson: "Remember When" "[Daddy Let Me] Drive" "Sissy's Song" "Chattahoochie" "Its 5 o'clock Somewhere" "Don't Rock The Jukebox" "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" and at least 20 more great songs!
The lyrics throughout the song reference Hank Williams Sr. and his life/death and songs. The "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" line was one of his greatest hits [the Whipperwil is a bird mentioned in that song also".
Hank Williams, Sr. Is very sentimental to me. One of most favorite artists of all time. Grew up riding around with my grandfather while he blared ol' Hank. Hank was his favorite. Such a tragic loss. Any song that pays tribute to Hank is priceless for me. Y'all should watch "I Saw the Light," a movie made about Hank.
I saw Alan open for Clint Black when he was starting out his music career. I looked at my friends when his set ended and told them that this guy is about to set the country music scene on fire. Boy, was I right on that prediction. Love Alan. He just seems so humble and likeable. The type of guy you would just want to sit down and have a drink with. He's suffered a lot in the past few years with his illness and the death of his son-in-law.
Alan Jackson is amazing. He was a huge part of my childhood. Thank you for your videos. My mornings are spent with y'all ❤ good vibes baby.. good vibes and coffee 😁
We have a Hank Williams memorial highway here in WV dedicated to where he took his last ride. They mentioned it was a New Years Eve show because that's when Hank Sr. Died
It is a scary feeling to be in a cemetery that late . 33 years ago i lost my dad and i would go sit at his grave and talk. I was told along time ago the dead want hurt you its the live ones you gotta worry about. ✝️❤😊
A month ago I went to Alan’s Concert in SLC Utah. I record a little bit of one of his songs and while recording I yelled out. This is for you Half a Jai. But i couldn’t get it uploaded to your site. Love you two
This is a hauntingly beautiful song. 💙 Alan Jackson has such a soothing voice in his slow songs. There's another great song about the ghost of Hank Williams Sr. by David Allan Coe called *The Ride*
Other great Alan Jackson songs: "Little Bitty" "Something About a Mercury" "I Don't Even Know Your Name" "Pop a Top" "Chasing th hat neon rainbow " "Gone Country" "Livin' on love" Those are few. He has an AWESOME "rabbit hole ". Little Bitty reminds me of my mama. She has always been small short. But, definitely a firecracker, lol. And "Something About a Mercury " reminds me of my daddy, God rest his soul. He loved Alan Jackson and if that song came on his radio in his paibt and body shop, he was always dancing & singing to it. And EVEN every once in a while, he would just bust out singing it. Lol.
Seen him in Montgomery several years ago…during this song the lights were down smoke rolling in and the purple lights. It was truly haunting and one of the best concerts I’ve seen. Very few country artist I like but he is one
Love this Alan Jackson kick yall are on! Alan Jackson is my all time favorite country music artist. "Home" is one of the very first songs he wrote and it tells the true story of how his family, meaning his mother and father started life in the tool shed his grandfather had built and with every child his parents had they would add another room to it to accommodate. It's a moving song as are most Alan Jackson tunes, he is such a talented song writer. Love it!
If you want tear jerking songs, “Remember when “ or “where were you when the world stopped turning “. If you want fun songs, “I’m in love with you baby “ or “country boy “.
This is from the year i was born which is a coincidence because i get chills everytime i hear this. It's my favorite Hank Sr. Tribute. "Pop a top again" "Good Time" "i still like Bologna" i mean Alan has SO MANY great songs. Just anything A.J and you won't be disappointed.
I live in Montgomery, AL. I, along with several other friends, had the pleasure to witness Alan Jackson sing this song at Hank Williams grave. It was after one of his concerts. It was amazing! This is back in late 90's I think
Thank you so much for playing Alan Jackson he is my all-time favorite since his very first time. One that you should listen to and I apologize I do not know how to send a link but it’s called “between the devil and me“ that song will get you. Anyway I enjoy you both I’m an old woman who loves country music from the family I have all of his music. And I’ll share another song that was nominated for an Oscar about the area all of my family comes from in Harlan County Kentucky called “you’ll never leave Harlan alive.“ There’s a big story behind that song along with Oscar winning nominations. I think you are a great couple together and when you can since that through TH-cam it means to me I’m very strongAnd loving couple God bless you
A great legend paying respects to great legend Hank Williams which passed away at only 29 or 30 years old. I would maybe have to be corrected on the age. Hank Williams was the best with his twang. Twang is like almost a yodeling sound but with words.
This song is a tribute to Hank Williams whiskey in the area(Hank had a drinking problem) the grave is his its his ghost he seen it's midnight in Montgomery he's always singing there Great song! listen to Sissys song by him great song
You should check out Wanted,Here in the real World, and Someday but if you like Alan you should check out John Anderson very under rated but still a Great Singer and he has the same quality with being able to place you into his songs with him.I recommend Seminole wind,Black Sheep,Straight Tequila night or Money in the Bank.
hes got a ton of great songs. where were you when the world stopped turning, Dallas, Here in the real world, Tonight I climbed the wall, Home, Living on love, She got the rhythm I got the blues, Don't rock the jukebox are just a few of many hits by Alan.
I know I'm late to the show here but I had to commit on this song. As you know by now this is a tribute to hank Sr. I live in Alabama and have been to the Man's grave been to his house outside of Huntsville was raised on his music as well as lucky enough to have an Uncle who worked Security for Hank Jr. And was able to sit around listening to members of Sr's drifting cowboy band tell stories about their travels. The opening line about Alan on his way to a late-night New Years show is a reference to the night Hank died in the back of his Cadillac on the way to do a shoe New Yrs eve. It's an incredible tribute to Jackson's influence by Hank. If you might consider another tribute song by David Alan Coe called the Ride it may be the 2nd best Hank inspired song
Unfortunately so many people don't get the references made in this song. Hank Williams Senior was buried in a cemetery in Montgomery Alabama. The person he meets in the cemetery is the ghost of Hank Williams Sr. Hank like to wear Nudie Suits and cowboy boots when he performed. When Alan sings about the sound of a whip-poor-will and the train sounding like I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry they are both references to Hank Williams songs. Also at the beginning of this song Alan references it was on New Year's Eve because Hank senior died in the backseat of a Cadillac after a New Year's Eve show. Another Song About the ghost of Hank Williams Senior is called The Ride by David Allan Coe
Alan Jackson has a new song, sweet country music. It’s like a love song to the old fashion country music. And in the video there’s clips of several country artist like Hank, George Jones, etc.
The song is about Hank Williams Sr. Hank Jr. ( Country boy can survive). Dad He was the Elvis of country music. David Allan Coe is another great country music singer that does a song about him called The Ride.
Mercury Blues was originally done by The Steve Miller Band. Allan Jackson put a country spin on it. The live version by Steve Miller is killer. Please give both a listen.
This song is specifically about Hank Williams Sr, the original Hank Williams, but oh it is so much more than that, it's an homage to all the great Legends of country music that have come before, always showing respect to the true originals.
One of my absolute favorite songs of all time, I actually live about 30 miles from the hospital Hank Williams was pronounced dead in he actually died in the backseat of his Cadillac from a morphine and alcohol overdose while traveling through this part of West Virginia (were I happen to be from) to a show the next day on new years eve you should check out Chattahoochee by Alan Jackson another classic of his
Met him in 2001 and he is one of the most down to artist that I've ever met and I have been lucky enough to meet several of them and one of the most underrated songwriters of country music
Goosebumps on this. I seen him do this in concert. All you could see was the top of his white cowboy hat. It was cool and creepy at the same time. Love this Y'all. Fond memories.
Y’all gotta listen to “to do what I do” and “home” by him. He’s one of the most stand up guys there is. He came from hard times but paid his dues. I remember hearing that a record executive told him that he wouldn’t make it in country music because he was to “country”.
One of his newest ones is “ where the the cottonwood grows” and “ where have you gone?” Both are really good. His older stuff is all amazing, he really is one of the best ❤️
One of the reasons why I like Alan Jackson so much is he still plays traditional country music. So many other current country artists add more elements to their music to try to stay relevant.
Love Alana Jackson, George strait is the king of country but Alan is the goat.. every song by those two are stories.. this is one of the best by either, mainly I’m a homer because it’s all tangled up in Alabama (my home state) But for sure don’t get caught up in Montgomery at midnight, cemetery may be the safest place lol
This may have already been mentioned, but I'm surprised I did not notice in chat. Please react to one of Alan's greatest story telling songs called "Wanted"
A.J. has a mix of upbeat, fun songs and more mellow, love and deep issue songs. Reacting to any of them would be great! Love checking your reactions out!

There is a ghost Hank Williams Cadillac that travels on interstate 65 between Montgomery and the Tennessee State line. The only way you know it is around a particular Hank Williams Song will start playing on the radio over what is being broadcasted at that time. This was told to me by my Dad, he was a over the road truck driver that experience this .
The grave belongs to the legend Hank Williams he stopped to pay his respects. Beautiful song.

Well. th-cam.com/video/hBP15lRprPs/w-d-xo.html
I like Little Bitty
Personally prefer Small Town Southern Man.
The lyrics are "He's always singing there." He's referring to the late great Hank Williams Sr.

In High School, we would all go drinking in the cemetery across from the school before the High School dances. We did it all the time.
This song is about Hank Williams Sr. He died in Montgomery AL. The man with the cowboy hat was Hank.
"Here in the real world" "Chasing that neon rainbow" "Dog river blues" and others too numerous to mention

I travel alot and visit my father in law in Georgia he is surrounded by cotton fields he loved Alan Jackson.

Love you two and the Good vibes baby!!
This is a very important song. Unfortunately, most don’t know the history of Hank Sr thus, don’t get the importance of the lyrics.
Love Allen Jackson
Mercury Blues was originally done by The Steve Miller Band.
Allan Jackson put a country spin on it.
The live version by Steve Miller is killer.

Hank Williams sings "Im so Lonesome I could Cry".
Where were you when the world stop turning! Is his best song!
One of his newest ones is “ where the the cottonwood grows” and “ where have you gone?” Both are really good. His older stuff is all amazing, he really is one of the best ❤️
That is "Singing there". He is talking about Hank Williams Sr.
One of the reasons why I like Alan Jackson so much is he still plays traditional country music. So many other current country artists add more elements to their music to try to stay relevant.
The chorus is full of lyrics from Hank's songs.
Check out Alan Jackson
Like Red on a Rose.
That song will bring tears to your eyes. 100%
He's a straight up country music baddass! 🎶
Another good song in the same wave is The Ride by David Allan Coe which also involves Hank Williams.

@Victoria Yando....."This Cowboys Hat" is the great Chris LeDoux not Alan Jackson. Still an amazing song suggestion though!
@@aimeedavis9648 I know who sings it. It was just a recommendation.
Hank Williams died right after midnight on Jan 1, 1953 in the back of a Cadillac convertible in Montgomery, AL
I would love to hear and see your reaction to the song " the blues man ".... This song is about Hank Williams Jr. Alan Jackson sings it perfectly....
