To anyone who feels they are a late bloomer. It’ s never too late to bloom. I started training to become a yoga teacher at 50 and it was terrifying! I thought I would be the oldest and most useless one in the group. Of course absolute rubbish, they were wonderful ranging from their 20’s to 70’s. I can honestly say I am happier and more excited by life now, than when I struggled through my 20’s. Sometimes it is a chance encounter or something you hear or see can set a course for better times. Wishing everyone well
Nothing embarrasses Trinny!😁👍 She realised that her trousers zip was down and just pulled it up and kept going 😂😂😂👏👏👏👏. She is vibrant, stylish, cool and real. Love her 😍
This was such good advice, thank you so much. I often feel behind in life because I'm 33, single, don't have my own place and in my first year of training to be a lawyer. It's so refreshing to see someone else whose doing great and started late ❤️
You are inspiring and talk a lot of sense.. thank you :-) I am 54 and have started violin lessons a year ago. Happy to be passionate about something new at my age.
Trinny, thank you for being the woman a lot of us don’t have in our lives,,,,empathetic, aspirational, honest and true when it’s uncomfortable, cheerful, encouraging,,,,always enjoy and appreciate your chats.
I had a classic wardrobe as a professional woman....I invested alot in quality wools, silk shirts, beautiful shoes. I worked with a woman who changed her wardrobe constantly she was hugely into shopping. People thought we were quite alike professionally....both high achievers, PhD intelligent women. WE were the only two like this at our college in administration promoted from faculty....she had family money, but I earned more than she did. I had moved there from a big city and she shopped in one. One day about five years after I arrived she said to me you have nice clothes but those shoes are out of style. I was shocked at the rudeness. I was determined to retire early at 50 to go sailing the Caribbean so saved everything to be able to afford to without a university pension. No one knew my goal and she was a gossip, so I certainly wasn't going to tell HER! !Also my feet are hard to fit and not enough time in the city to find current well fitting court shoes. A year before I retired the cleaner of my building asked me WHY did all the other administrators buy a new car every other year or so, while mine was 10 yrs old. SHe, the cleaner, had just bought a newish car. I smiled and said, well I'm just saving money...she knew I earned a professional salary she was confused. I announced my retirement the day I turned 50. I walked into the president of the college's office and said,I will be retiring in 3 mos when this years contract ends. THey were shocked...they said, but but you arent 62! That was the normal age for people receiving state subsidized retirement. I had made, saved, lived under my income for the ten yrs at that insitution and invested and more than tripled my investments. My spouse and I sailed into the sunset never to look back. My nice originally expensive clothes and shoes went to a charity and I was off having fun for the rest of my life, no longer a wage slave. It was so so worth it..and I loved my job. People cou ld not believe I could walk away from it. I told them, IF I have to work , I have the best job in the world...then finally I no longer had to work. I am 72 living in our home in the tropics I designed and my husband built.....after ten years of sailing, so 22 yrs now of glorious joy, sailing, traveling, learning new things. SO worth not driving the newest car, not having the most in style shoes, etc.......I do,love clothes, ones that fit my now casual life. Think long term what are your goals....I mean 10 yrs, 20 yrs down the road. It DOES arrive one day so,think it through how you want to live and what are the most important things to you? I love that Trinny doesnot wear all designer or all high end..one can look great on less. That woman at the college who sneered at my shoes by the way had to wait to 62 to retire....an extra 12 yrs of fun was to ME so worth the older car and shoes, to her I suppose not, but that fine too just be honest with YOURSELF what is of paramount importance to you.
Hello Sybil, that is such a great lesson and I'm 100% with you - I think that you made the right choice and are no doubt having a more enjoyable and meaningful life as a result of your solid decisions. Good on you, enjoy your life and take care. :) xx
Loved to read this comment Sybil - how amazing you have sailed around and seen so many new and wonderful places and people. You and your husband sound like great fun!
great chat Trinny, I was working as a Chef in a wine bar in the City in my mid 20's and loved it - used to get excited when I woke up thinking I was going to work! that was in the 80's also, like you. I am now 60 - and at a crossroads, I am "over" food, yet I have so much experience and don't know where to channel it. I see all the young guns on Instagram with their beautiful creations. I now love fashion and just love your posts!
On the question of how to respond to bullies who criticise someone's style - tbh I'd either just reply ".....what an unnecessary thing to say." or ask them pointedly if they're ok.
But… OMG you were absolutely gorgeous in your 20s! You always have actually with each decade. If only we could go back to our young selves and know how lovely we were - not that I was! I have had to work at moulding and creating the best myself and it’s been a journey - going even still in my 60s. Beauty is wasted on the youth. Such an accurate statement. Such a shame really. Most of us are beautiful in our youth just by being young vital fresh and with plump glowing skin and shiny glossy thick hair.
Love the outfit! Love the advice and how you draw so honestly from your own life and share your experiences so easily, it makes watching you such a wonderful part of my day.
You are amazing Trinny. Thankyou for all your help. You are inspiring me to better myself. Big birtthday for me this year. 50. I'm looking at all the books you and Susannah wrote together that I bought all those years ago. I'm going to enjoy every second of reinventing myself. May see you at Trinny London.xx
When I was in my 20s and 30s people thought I oozed confidence and I had zero...The story you just told about walking into a nite club looking confident and cool people thought that of me...I`m 55 now and I remember all that confidence people thought I had was actually such crippling insecurity♥️🇦🇺💋🤟
Great questions & answers! Next time can you talk about whether you get times when you really don't like what you see in the mirror, and how you cope emotionally with that? Thanks.
I'm in my fifties and have been a school teacher for many years and now thinking about changing careers so we'll see how we go. Would love to do something in fashion.
I loved your going off on a tangent really thoughtfully said being present now the best version for yourself now for you , ageless, confidence you have to make time for you to see yourself and yes be open to guidance however that comes ,thank you 🌸🌺
Yep I agree .... if someone says “that look is over” that I would totally tell them to “f**k off!” It says more about the other person than it says about u ... omg! U just said that exact thing 😂💙😘
True about fashion trends going in cycles. I spent a fortune on expensive loafers and blazers in th late 1990s- couldn't bring myself to chuck them out and am using them now.
i just happened to watch your youtube channel & i’m hooked! so impressed on how you can pull off your wardrobe with subtle sexiness confidently without really trying 👍👏
Hi Trinny, could you teach us how to style midi length pleated skirt with elastic waist? I recently started to wear one and purchased 2 more. But I don't know how to style them. I always end up wearing something boring on top.
Menopause sucks! I have had hot flashes for 7 years. I really messed up. I remarried and my husband refused to have a vasectomy. I still had periods like clockwork. We were 50. Dr wouldn't give me birth control, he wouldn't wear a condom. So, after talking with my Dr he recommended I go to a gynecologist. I had my tubes tied. Big mistake. It immediately threw me into menopause. Never had a regular period afterwards. It really scared me. I went from monthly 5 day periods to nada. Then a year later I bled hard for 8 weeks. Worse and harder than having a baby. I have hot flashes hourly. Going back fir my 6 week check after surgery the dr seemed amazed I didn't have a hernia. I said what? He said normally, we get a hernia going through the belly button like this. Ugh. I won't take hormone therapy as my dr said it isn't a good idea unless it is unbearable. Well, it is unbearable but I can do this. The weight gain 😩. Try menopause and tubal ligation at the same time. Not good. Plus I have autoimmune hepatitis and periodically am put on steroids for over a year at a time.
Mistake i made post pregnancy i went shopping for new clothes cuz maternity wear was too big and pre pregnancy clothes not breastfeeding friendly. Now a year after im sitting with a wardrobe full of sizes that don’t fit or flatter me. My body shape changed from hourglass to rectangle because of ribcage expansion and I don’t know now what style to wear.
I am a 36DD and never wear an underwire bra. Many years ago I had a lumpectomy and the surgeon advised me to never wear an underwire. I have since had two more lumpectomies and implants. I could go braless but love the bra I wear. I also gained about 25 pounds after a complete hysterectomy at age 50. Now 16 years later still carrying it around. My doctor gave HRT for 2 years only.
I found your channel and have been binge watching all your videos. Not sure if it’s me but when i try playing the TH-cam on tv, your videos appear like small vertical screen and not full screen, m guessing coz it was shot on vertical camera.. anyways enjoying every bit on my phone

I am sure that you had the strut and had the "it" factor where if two women walked into a room all eyes would be on you. Too bad you wasted time not appreciating yourself. I really enjoyed reading your story. Well done you. She maybe felt a bit threatened by you, but you were true to yourself and got what you wanted.

Most doctors are giving you advise (it's advise) it is worthy asking at least two other doctors, plus talk therapy, plus alternative medicines and size up what makes the best sense for you! Always. thanks Trinny!
Wrong, it is "advice" in correct proper English. The other spelling only applies to the act of giving the advice (advice=noun, advise=verb).
Always knew you went to a boarding school even before I knew anything about you
The why?
U dress / undress like me
You can slip them on and off quickly and under pressure without anyone seeing anything. That’s what you learn after years of practice.
That picture of you in your 20s looks more like Susannah!
