Hey I like the tutorial so far and I really want to finish it but I've got a werid bug, my character is running ahead of my capsule component and then looping back, I've tried to turn on root motion in the animation file but it does not fix the problem. I guess it could have something to do with how I retargeted the echo animation but I'm really not sure I might have missed a very important step in the vidoes perhaps. got any Idea?
I'm having the same issue, when previewing the animations in the retargeter they look identical but then the retargeted animation just pushes the character from the root. Did you happen to find a fix?
@@Jaysinxe Yea I solved that problem by going into maya and remove the Y translation from the pelvis on the animation. But I ended up having other issues after and not sure if those were related to that or not.
Open the animation. Make sure Force Root Lock or something like that is checked in. That should fix it. The animation is moving without the root bone following. That is why you are seeing this problem
@@Jaysinxeopen the animation. And make sure to check “Force Roots Lock” is on. The animation is moving and the root is not. That’s why you see that glitch happening
I think there's something else influencing the Echo animations, because no matter what settings you use (I'm talking about the original unchanged, Echo Animations) the character will always slide forwards with you setup created precisely. What have you done to the animations to prevent them from sliding forward, because in this case it's happening with both Root motion and forced locked root motion. In the preview it's playing on the spot fine when locked, but at runtime, something else is influencing that animation and I'm not sure what... There's nothing in this series about the setup/prep of these animations, so would really appreciate if you could elaborate on what's the secret causing these animations to slide forward? Note: The character control works fine, moves in all correct directions pressed, but when an animation is playing, it's just sliding forwards. thanks.
@@TechAnimStudios Thanks for confirming. I used the more advanced method of creating chains etc, but despite the animations look fine and work fine by turning Root Force lock on / off the Animation at runtime using this setup with ABP always seems to run forwards away from the root. Did you mention the animations you retargetted were available to download please? That way I'd like test to see what's different (and can report back to you when I know :) so we might both discover something interesting in that case) Also are you currently looking for work? Cheers
What a great and big-hearted person you are. My brother, you are the light of this world.

Any idea why this setup does NOT show 90 -90 etc printing to screen? What to check?

I've just used UE5 default Retargeting, to retarget Echo's anim pack to the default ue5 manequin.
