I love the video! A little note tho, maybe make the background music at a lower volume because at some points I couldn’t exactly make out what you said. It’s a great vid and I’d love to hear all of it
Thank You for the videos. This one was my introduction to your content and so far I like it. I also have to thank you for summerising the Archie Comics era. I read through it the last 2-3 years, and missed it a lot lately. However re-reading it all again was not a task I wished to undergo again in such short break. You reminded me why I loved all those comics, and it's stories. Thank You for that. The music in the background, was a nice touch.
I'm really enjoying this I can't wait to see you cover my favorite stretch of issues 190-200 (Hedgehog Havok is amazing), then we go into my most boring set of issues 201-218, but then we get kicked into high gear afterwards
a series covering the golden era of archie sonic? you earned a new sub man 👍 the only problem i had was that the volume of your voice was a little low and the volume of the music was a little high so it was a little bit hard to hear what you say other than that, great videos 👍
I'm getting a new mic soon, and plan to reupload the first 4 videos into one big video so that I can fix the audio issues and the music. Thank you so much for tuning in!!!
I do find that Flynn was doing a fairly good job at making the Penders stuff easier for the reader to understand but I do think both had an upside and a fault to the series (Even the Latter of the two). Penders, while having some strange problems and has now completely lost his mind. He did have a good handle on an overarching Saga (Even if half of it was "INSPIRED" by existing works). His failure was his obsession with painting the Fathers in the Right. Sonics father is probably the exception to this whereas Locke was the one who was morally compromised. While I can understand part of his logic in trying to ensure Knuckles can deal with impending threats, he's not really condemned until this arc. Sonic and the Freedom Fighters against Robotnik's empire is Black and White while the Brotherhood and the Legion are Gray in contrast. Ken rarely gave the heroes the chance to call the father figures out on it. Flynn was a lot better at stability and was capable of reworking a lot of existing content to make it easier to read as opposed to the former. The Art was also brining back more of the worlds color and got the character models to the original standard. While part of his problem now a days is being hamstrung by Sega mandates, he has a desire to make the comics more like the games. The problem with that is if you want the games, you just play the games. I can't honestly say that the IDW series surpasses its predecessor if it's being restrained and to make things harder, I'm not even sure the world feels complete. For the Archie version, Sonic is a character built to trek through the vast world called Mobius, while IDW, Sonic has a world built for him.
The last part pretty much describes Archie and IDW to a T. I'd say my piece about them, but that'll just attract a lot of arguments, so I'll leave it at that. You also forgot about Sally’s father, Max Acorn. The man was so obsessed in staying to the old ways to help the point in ordering the execution of the Robians, and because of that annoying Source of All, you can't win an argument against him. Penders uses him to keep Sally stranded in her castle due to the face that he couldn't kill her off because...well he's just very sexist. Just check out his 25 Years Later story to see how sexist he is. The fact that he's so obsessed with fathers always right because of his issues with his own father is downright concerning.
@@antyep I skipped out on Maximillian because I couldn't remember if that was actually him or under possession by Naugus. I know the King has a mixed history with anything related to Overlanders and I initially thought his Anti-Robian policies was a result of self loathing since it was he who handed Julian the Keys to the Kingdom.
This does a pretty good job of describing my problems with IDW. Now that I've finally read most of it, I can say with certainty that they're not bad, I just don't enjoy them as much as Archie. This is pretty much why
Same honestly. I'm thinking of putting out the next video covering 185-188 this week as a shorter video just so that I can get back to the good stuff by next week. Deadass, The Eggman Invasion, Enerjak Arc, Scourge Arc, and Iron Queen Invasion Arc are why I wanted to do this in the first place.
I desperately need to know what that first background song/music was you used (from 0:00 to 3:19). That DnB song was hitting. Could you include some end credits presenting the songs and music you use.
This is so cool, I've never read the comics and now I can understand the story, I can't believe that I missed out on peak fiction.
I love the video!

Absolutely! At some point in the near future (once I get my hands on a higher quality mic) I’ll re-record and redo all of the audio.
Thank You for the videos.

Same! Dude it’s so good! That video should drop in a few days.
@@odd-eyesvon thanks man, I'm super excited to get into some HEDGEHOG HAVOK
Nice series! While the retelling is great, the best part is actually you giving your thoughts on the characters.
Alrighty! I'll do more of that!

Great video oh my
Man, they finally made Lock be responsible for his dumb actions... That's refreshing owo"
Super ironic that the last issue, Eggman over here having a mental breakdown but now he's ok (with the occasional break)
15:31 completely agree . Rouge is one of the good guys but she is not good.
Enerjak is really a cool villain name.
Though while it sounds like energy drink, as Sonic states himself, it still is a cool name.

The fact that this TH-camr uses a IDW original to talk about Archie is kinda ironic.
He said he will cover IDW soon
What’s anenerjak
The name of a malevolent deity made from the Echidna clan in the comics.
Is that really Super Sonic? It looks more green than yellow. Looks more like we should call that Chaos Sonic.
Lol 😂 Would’ve been cool if he had a new form by using the Master Emerald.
@@odd-eyesvon I know right? I feel like they tried to do that cause this really doesn't look like Super Sonic.
Fun fact dis u know sonic was modeled after Felix the cat?
Was he really? That'd be sick.
can't wait till you get to the Scourge Arc. It's one of my favorite story arcs.

That is "Slice and Sway" from Sonic Frontiers. And great suggestion, I will keep a list on music in the end credits from now on.
