There are about 3 million different vending machines in Japan now. One PET bottle used to cost about 120 yen, but it has been raised to about 180 yen due to the price increase.
Hey guys, the vending machines are insane. Quite an experience to see all they have to offer. You know I didn’t even try anything from a machine while travelling in Japan - missed opportunity obviously. Have a fabulous week ❤
I _soooo_ miss the japanese vending machines. Just being able to get a simple green tea (or barley - Willa certainly knows what's good) at every corner is so awesome. Also the variety, never knowing what weird exotic surprise is waiting at the next machine... 😂 First time getting back from Japan, looking at the sorry excuse for a wending machine at the Frankfurt airport trainstation - and the high prices - , it almost made want to turn around and fly back. 🤣
It’s incredible how affordable the vending machine drinks are, right? They easily could mark them up even a bit more but they don’t which maybe makes them that much more popular? Yes, she knows very well with the tea! Thanks for watching and the support! Hope you get to visit Japan again sometime!
There are several various vending machines in rest areas on expressways. (In Japan, they are called Service Area. Abbreviation SA) And there is a wide selection of souvenirs, food courts, and restaurants. Some areas are equipped with aquariums, Ferris wheels, planetariums, go-carts, hot springs, etc., so you and your children can have fun together. You should go there.
Ticket shops sell special tickets which train stock owners sell to them. They are given as gift to stock owners and ticket shops price them slightly cheaper than regular tickets. There used to be Calpis concentration. So people had argued how much water to put in to make their Calpis back then. But that argument was over when they released a smash hit called Calpis Water.
Love all the interesting vending machines! Most interesting one I have seen is a pecan pie vending machine that you can buy an entire pie! It was developed by a pecan growing operation, Berdol's and is located off Hwy 71 between Bastrop and Austin. Crazy you can grab a pecan pie on the way into Austin...LOL Yall have a great week! Joan
Amazing vending machines! To be able to get hot meals or drinks just like that is very convenient. Do the machines get vandalized at all? I am a bit behind on videos - did you do anything for Tsukimi?
Incredibly convenient for sure! Fortunately, there is little graffiti and vandalism in Japan compared to many other countries and that also goes for the vending machines. They are all very well maintained and not broken into (from what we see). Unfortunately, we didn’t do anything during Tsukimi this year. Hope you’re doing well!
I've always wondered what the "point" is on having so MAAANY vending machines in japan. Who's running all the machines? 😬 But I recently heard that those machines are an easy way to earn money on the side. So most of those vending machines are ALL run by different private people who are running them as a side-hustle. Which would explain the incoherent variety and placement of the machines - and probably also why the one house had that nook built in. The landlord probably planned that future side-hustle into the new building. 😂 But I think it's a real cool concept tha people can earn some extra money with relatively low effort and the customers profit from the huge variety of offerings. 👍
The majority of the drink machines are operated by the beverage companies. You will see the Coca Cola trucks filled with all the drinks next to the machine while the drivers fill them. On the top of the trucks, you will see the bags of empty bottles and cans for recycle.
In the past, when I was a child, vending machines allowed you to take as much juice as you wanted for free. If you put your hand in the juice outlet, you could take as much as you wanted. Nowadays, there is a return mechanism inside, so you can't take any more juice.
There are more and more vending machines that you can buy with 50 yen coins. The size of the can is small, so it's good for people who only need a small amount 👍 There are also pizza vending machines. I love tomato juice and UCC coffee because I'm from Kobe ☺️ Cheers to the happy family 🍻❤️ Good job ❤️
Very interesting these versatile vending machines! As for whaling: Norway, Iceland, and Japan are still engaged in commercial whaling. The U.S. (Alaska) and Denmark (Greenland) conduct aboriginal subsistence whaling. Some traditional hunts occur in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Despite this, there's growing international pressure for whale conservation and a shift towards eco-tourism. My personal opinion: Commercial whaling is absolutely unnecessary and should be abolished globally, apart from maybe the subsistence whaling. 🐋🐳
@@Official-OpenAI what about "my personal opinion" do you not understand? 🙄 No, I do not get to decide about pollution, wars, what endangered animals we hunt and kill etc., but I sure can have an opinion on it.
I found this on google. : Whaling is illegal in most countries, however Iceland, Norway, and Japan still actively engage in whaling . Over a thousand whales are killed each year for their meat and body parts to be sold for commercial gain. Their oil, blubber, and cartilage are used in pharmaceuticals and health supplements.
So cool! 😍 there are so many unique items to discover! Thanks for sharing your findings! ❤
11:10 So adorable how she says jankenpon, aikodesho! (rock, paper, scissors)
We love it too!!

We have made a stop at a couple on our roadtrips and they are amazing!! You are right!

Thanks for the info! We like to buy the powder concentrate for some of them cause it’s nice to flavor it just a little bit sometimes :).

That would be so cool if it’s like that!! So many vending machines!!
Whaling is allowed in Norway, Island and Japan. In Island and Japan officially for scientific reasons...🤔
Thanks for sharing!
Grüße aus D und wir haben einen goldenen Herbst! kurze Hose am Tag usw✌️
Thank you!! I’m happy you guys are having an awesome Autumn! ❤️

Hi to you in Kobe 👋 Thanks so much for your comment! We need to try the tomato juice kind. We haven’t yet but it seems like many Japanese love it!
Did you find a vending machine that produces hot fries?
No but now we want to!!! 😋
@OurStorytoTell Apparently there is or was a hot fries vending machine at the Kyoto train station.
Very interesting these versatile vending machines!

Wow very interesting information! Thanks for sharing! We agree with you!
But you don't really get to decide whether it is unnecessary or not though do you. Cultural differences.

Thanks for sharing! So interesting to hear which countries it is legal in.
