    Best hydration pack review I have seen that provides a clear, concise description of all the capabilities and features of this pack. Great job. Thank you.

    Excellent video, that only thing I would have changed is using the red or blue version, the moment when using the straps to adjust the poles needed a little bit more of exposure and when setting up the bladder. Besides that its a great video that is going to help a lot in organising the vest I got a week ago for my upcoming race.

    I love everything about the Adv. Skin 12 and would highly recommend the purchase. I always disliked the over the shoulder bladder system and this under and around is awesome. My only question mark surrounding this pack is why not put some sort of closing latch or zipper on the shoulder pockets. You can tell in this video even she was like....I don't really know what to say about these. There is no way I'm putting my keys up there (even with the clip) as if it falls off the clip it's game over. If those had a zipper.....this pack would be perfection but as it sits it only gets a 9.9 LOL. I LOVE the wrap around pocket on the lower back. I use that for my frog togs and it's so nice to be able to pull that out when it starts raining and it covers me and the pack. I can pull it out and put it back 20 times during a run without even slowing down. So many amazing features on this!! Very well done Salomon. Oh...I guess there is one other thing but it's not a problem more of just a...worry. I get concerned all my eggs are in one basket with the front cord. If that ever busted it's game over for the whole pack. With my old Nathan if one strap busted at least I could finish my run/race with just one. I complaining about something that hasn't happened yet but still....I do carry an extra shoe lace with me just in case. But again...9.9 out of 10

    I have just bought this as an upgrade to my Active Skin 8 vest that I love. The only thing missing seems to be a pocket with a flap on the inside of the main back pouch. Might not be necessary with all the new features but it’s an obvious difference. The pocket is useful for wipes, Toilet Paper etc. If you decide to add this to next version please add velcro closures where the velcro is sewn in (glue on velcro melts in the heat and the velcro coems unstuck - trust me on this!!).

    Thanks for the great video! I own the vest since a couple of months and I love it! One question tough: How do you quickly change the flasks in a competition, for example in the aid station. I find it really hard to get the "new" full bottles into the vest, especially if I carry a couple of gels etc. in the front pockets! I would be happy about any tipps and hacks :) Thanks in advance from Germany, Benni :)

    • @PedroDusso
      @PedroDusso 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Benjamin, I just found a solution to that problem last week: I inflate the flaks with air (like a ballon!). They become more “rigid” and then can find their space as you push them into the pocket. After they are in place I just bite de rubber and the pressure remove extra air (so the water don’t have space to move).

      There is a pocket behind your head to stash a thin wind stopper.
      They have also reconfigured the rear through pocket so it comes further to the front and is this easier to access for instance when putting in your waterproof

      @@richt3993 somewhere i was reading that the front pockets (not the zippered and flasks, the one behind) is smaller now, is this true? it was so perfect on the old since i also was carrying a small glass to watch with me.... otherwise i just have to try the new one! What was strange, why salomon was chasing the design again in the last weeks...

    • @richt3993

      @@GerdGuchl Its not smaller but the opening is smaller because of the way the back through pocket comes further round the side.

    This is literally the best vest I have ever had and it has everything my other Salomon vest/backpack were missing like only a limited amount of pockets in the front and lacking options for poles (so far I hated to take my poles out cause it usually meant I would have to take my backpack/vest off and I was also always worried that I would lose my poles due to missing fastening options).
    I'm not recommending anything unless I'm really convinced by the product and in this case I have to say this vest was such a good investment.

    nice video, but I would like to see a handy use of the drinking bottles in front of the vest while running. If I take them out, it's not easy to get them in properly again, and leaving the bottles in and drinking with my head down does 't feel comfortable ....Looks like this vest is only for slow trailers... or people who stop their activity when drinking.

      It took me a minute to find them. I have my vest in red, still can't see them good. What I realized is that the water bladder sits between the mesh and the next solid material, that's where the hole is. I know it seems like it should fit into the pocket (of solid material) but that's not where the hole is. The next hole is up on the right side (as I'm wearing it) then the tube pipes up towards the little wide loop.

    I got the 1.5 l bladder. When I lay it down, it leaks through the top. It looks like it slowly seeps through the fold. Is that a design flaw and I just need to keep it upright? Or is there something wrong with my bladder and it needs to be returned. I NEVER had an issue like this with a CamelBak bladder, and I've been using them since the 90s.

    Energy gels and phone pockets don't cut it. Many more pieces of gear such as gloves, types of glasses, balaclava, etc., are needed to be accessible up front based on weather and terrain area coverage. Water bladders are heavy, normally have a stench, are costly and require maintenance versus a PET water bottle with hose and bite valve located at the center of the spine. Why at the spine versus up front off center of the chest center? The spine is the center of torso rotation, the primary tool along with your arms that controls speed and cadence. Locating the normally heaviest item - water at the center of the spine virtually eliminates the side to side thrusting of the water which is what you have with water bottles located off center in the front that generates fatigue, reduced speed and endurance.
