It may have not originally specifically been fanfic but the whole movie had the feeling/vibe of fanfic. Anne Hathaway is ICONIC ✨ Kayla is such a fun guest!!
Garrick discussing the Kendrick Drake disses would be the best. I really liked the music episodes you guys did before anyways so this is really close to that. and yes Anne Hathaway is the best ever.
I can't believe this is how I find out Garrick is an F1/Lewis Hamilton fan. Clearly I haven't been paying enough attention. I'd love a whole podcast of him just talking about his thoughts and racing experience as a motorsports girly
This is why you need to read the book before talking about it. Solene lies at the end of the book and says she was more in love with the idea of him in order to break his heart and severe the tie. Solene and Hayes had had multiple conversations about people being more in love with the idea of him than him throughout the book, and when she decided it couldn't work and he wouldn't take no for an answer, she weaponized that knowledge as the one thing that would push him away. She hadn't actually fallen out of love and never did. AND that conversation does happen in person.
Love that Kelsey literally defines a "Guilty Pleasure" rating at the end (when she says that she watched it with a partner and felt guilty about how much she was enjoying the movie) but like a minute earlier said that the movie was a straight up "Pleasure"
Have you seen the infamous letterbxd review on this? Review by carley thorne ★★★ 318 this is what 13 year old me thought was gonna happen when i shaved my pussy for the one direction concert
oh my god I think my comment got hidden for too much vulgarity so I'll just re-comment 😅 Have you seen the infamous letterbxd review on this movie? Review by carley thorne ★★★ 318 this is what 13 year old me thought was gonna happen when i shaved my p*ssy for the one direction concert
The explanation of the ending wasn't quite right. Solene does end up giving a super hurtful speech that she only loved the idea of him, (which he was so worried about earlier in the novel/relationship) but she admits to herself and the reader she is lying. She feels it's the only way to truly end it by hurting him so badly. This is all at the very end of the book and eventually, he slowly stops calling, she admits she still loved him and it took her much longer to get over him.
What you guys need to actually watch is Nicolas in High Strung where he plays the violin. I feel like no one remembers that movie and it needs to be brought back
I think it's funny to hear Kaylan say Harry would never do that as if he doesn't have a life in personality completely aside from how he is portrayed N media😹 I'm sure Harry has done much shittier & more cringe things than anything shown in this movie, he is a person after all… No matter how hot and charming he may be
I loved it, I think it was perfect and not too much of anything. Anne Hathaway acted exactly as a regular mom in my opinion. Most of them are insecure especially after having kids so young and having a horrible ex
I haven't watched the podcast yet, just watched the movie last night, so I wanted to put my big thoughts here before watching and see if any of them are shared: 1. This movie made me feel like I was watching The Lizzie Maguire Movie for the first time, and I hope that makes sense because I cannot elaborate further lmao 2. Kind of piggybacking off of number 1, I found it ironic - and this may be intentional - that what Izzy was saying in the beginning about AM: "they're just so...7th grade" when the whole movie feels like it was made for zoomers and millennials that wanted to live this dream IN 7th grade and have now grown up 😅 3. Anne Hathaway is truly a goddess in so many ways 😍 Will report back after watching the pod! 🎉 **Afterthoughts: Holy shit, y'all had me HOWLING and sobbing with laughter this episode lmfao one of the best episodes yet! Well, I'm glad we all agree that Anne Hathaway is a goddess because YES!! Kelsey reminded me of another big thought I had, which was the conspiracy theory!! I absolutely think it was supposed to be alluding to her going back to who she could have been had she not gotten pregnant so young. I especially think that because of him talking about how different his life could have been had he not gotten the band role when he was younger, and I'm surprised that parallel wasn't mentioned again in regards to that! I think it all wraps up into this big thing of what life COULD have been for each of them had their lives gone different ways at some pivotal point, and regardless, they still found each other and that's what mattered. Both of them in their own regards were allowing and helping each other to live the life they wanted but couldn't ever have in any other circumstance. And I think the reason it feels like The Lizzie Maguire Movie feeling is because that was also a fanfiction kind of movie (before fanfiction was a big thing lol), so y'all helped me explain that too 😅
Good movie! I enjoyed! ❤ Crazy chemistry and amazing soundtrack 👏His vocals are so good The Idea of You is so cliche but in the best possible way!! There has been a shortage of good romance movies lately and this is a solid entry. This Nicholas Galitzine lad is really hot and gorgeous 🥵He does have impeccable charisma
Hearing that Nick was supposed to be 20 ?!?!? I graduated college at that age, I can’t even see myself dating a 40 year old now. Maybe 25 year old rn but oml
people might throw tomatoes at me and i understand but age gaps are always weird to me, regardless of gender roles. there will always be a strange power dynamic to me. once an age gap starts going past 6/7 years, i look at the relationship sideways. and that’s just me - date who you want but it is just weird to me.
Omfg I feel like I’m on a different planet. I’m a former one directioner and I couldn’t HANDLE this movie. I love Anne Hathaway but I feel like the plot itself was just dragged on and both characters were not fleshed out. I grew up reading fanfics too but like…???? Am I missing something lmao
"Have you even ever been in love" "No" i am dead
I would actually love a guilty pleasures episode where Garrick explains Kendrick vs Drake 🙌🏽
SAME
I'm waiting for this, the kettle is heating
Ugh they could do an episode on just Not Like Us lol
Same same same
yes please
Garrick had me CRYING this episode with the Harry Styles vibrator imagery 🤣🤣🤣
That moment of realization for him and just collapsing into his chair 😂
We need a red white and royal blue review
Yes! Especially now that there's going to be a SEQUEL!

They can disguise it as a video on the upcoming Brad Pitt F1 movie!
THE WAY KELSEY WAS ROLLING BACK ON HER CHAIR SAYING “BUT I LOVE YOUUUU BUT MOMMYYYY” I AM DECEASED

Got halfway through this review, paused it and went and watched the movie, came back 😂
okay now you HAVE to see him at his comedic peak in Bottoms
okay but i would 100% watch a guilty pleasures ep about the kendrick drake beef
It’s definitely a Guilty Pleasure, I haven’t been in a relationship for the longest time, and it made me tear up.
this is the review i need before i decide if i need to watch haha
There is no decision needed. It's Anne hathaway. Enough said

49:44 Garrick unhinged is the best I am GASPING 😂😂😂
I NEED RICK TO EXPLAIN THE KENDRICK-drake BEEF SOOOOO BADDDDDD!!!!!! That’d be such a fun ep lol
It’s crazy to act like the actor spent months dedicated to studying every Harry Styles moment. Meanwhile there was a week to prep things 😂
34:20
According to Nicholas, they actually more so studied how BTS interacted as a band than they did One Direction and Harry Styles

I have an actually hyper fixation on this damn movie. I can’t stop watching it cuz it makes me grin like an IDIOT I would die for this movie ❤
You guys HAVE to do Red, White, and Royal Blue!!!
In the book, he mentions that he was 15 and hooking up with his band mates older sister who was 19. Since then he only dated older women.
I saw the title and IMMEDIATELY knew Caitlyn had to be in this episode
What you guys need to actually watch is Nicolas in High Strung where he plays the violin. I feel like no one remembers that movie and it needs to be brought back
My boss worked on Anne Hathaway’s ADR and I was in the studio 20 min prior to Anne’s session and that’ll be a high achievement for me til I die
I know a baby named Hayes and everyone thinks it's Haze 😂 The mom didn't think that one through
This episode was a different kind of unhinged and I’m here for it, lmao.
34:31 Nick mentioned they referenced a lot of BTS actually
PLEASE watch Red, White and Royal Blue !!!
But I couldn’t even get into them as 1D because we all know none of the 1D boys could actually dance so coordinated and in sync 😂😭
I first watched Nicholas Galitzine in Cinderella. With Camilla Cabello. He sings so well. ❤
he's so versatile tf.
Can we please have an episode of music again with garricks breakdown of Drake v. Kendrick please !!!!! 😭🤣

I personally found the age difference a bit jarring and I couldn’t get over it. But I liked them leads individually
Please watch TAMMY AND THE TREX
IDK.. this movie and movies like this is kind of cringe.
It was a fun movie, but the age gap gave me the ick, and it was so drawn out unnecessarily. Fun but not watching again
