  • This is a continuation from Lecture 2. I discuss dry and rolling friction in detail. I also talk about measurement aspect of friction. A new apparatus known as Pin-on-Disc apparatus is introduced. Finally, I compare the coefficient of friction (COF) values of a number of metals and polymers. Please also note the lessons we can learn from these data in terms of their usability for our tribological systems.
