***** Fine. Lets take this into consideration. And i expect a valid rebuttal or else i will not reply. Kanye changed hip-hop. He has 6 of the most acclaimed albums ever released (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is regarded the best album of the 2010's so far). Lets not ignore the fact that he has 21 Grammy awards. His albums have been well received by legendary musicians like Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed, Bono, Bruno Mars, Nas, Elton John, and even Obama (despite his Jackass comment referring to Kanye). The list goes on but i'll stop there. He changes his style on every single album of his. He began with soul sampling on his first album, to a baroque approach on his second album, then he incorporated electro/disco in his third..... all the way to his most recent album Yeezus, which was industrial hip-hop. He can mix genres, sample without difficulty, and is a VERY creative artist, who is overlooked because of his childlike antics. When I listen to this after many years you realize how hard Kanye was repping his city his culture and his country He is a musical god an undeniable icon an I’m realiazin it even more now listen back Respect Kanye
You are not alone, some people can not split the persona from his music, for me he is a true Genius Álbum after album, the Best music i have heard on a long time
There is a thin line between genius and insanity, very creative people will often seem irrational at times, Kanye has made some of the best music of our generation. College dropout is still my top 3 all time albums.
Listened to this yesterday at my graduation. The sound of the kids yelling seniors through the halls as we headed towards the field. The smiles of everyone and the cheering will forever be engraved in my mind. Class of 2022
I started to actually listen to kanye for like 1 month, and his music is just perfect, with his music it's like to go in heaven, but unfortunately, when he says what he says he brings me back down to earth.
I was 8 years old when this song was released, but I had never heard it until this year. I'm 20 now. This song somehow feels like a nostalgia for a time I never experienced, but one I unconsciously lived through.
i was literally 3 years old, now 17, from germany, my parents didn't know kanye until i showed them ye like a 3 years ago. But i got the same vibe. my dad showed me much music from this period of time so i guess, many artists were inspired by ye or ye was inspired by them. Thats the only reason i can explain this nostalgia to myself tho
I hate to be the Stan but the greatest is Eminem. Some of Kanyes work has been brilliant but Eminem has far more consistency. He has far more technical ability and manages to create relatively simple emotive songs. Halies Song, Beautiful and When I'm gone for example.
What’s crazy is that I can remember the smell when I heard this song the first time in a Escalade going to DDs wit my cousins I remember it like yesterday I got my little toy car
Kanye caught a lot of flak for bringing Chris Martin (British dude) on a song about Chicago, but I always thought it was a valid, deliberate stylistic choice. This song isn't just a love letter to Chicago--it's a song about Kanye's changing relationship to Chicago after he's become a famous, world-touring artist. If you've ever returned to your hometown after a long absence and a bunch of new life experiences, you do end up feeling like a foreigner in some ways. That outsider feeling is what Ye is trying to convey by having his inner voice of yearning for home be performed by a guy with a British accent. "Homecoming" is actually a pretty bittersweet song in that regard, because it acknowledges that while Chi is Ye's home, it will never fully be his home again. There will always be a part of him that feels foreign to it.
I will always love and support Kanye. His music impacted a large portion of my life and the constant media crucifixion will never take that away. I wish all the best to our musical genius and I hope he comes out of this on top!! 💜
Unironically I think these are the most beautiful lyrics he's written. Closer to the fancy old poetry they made us read in English than any other mainstream song.

People ignoring the fact that Chris played the piano and sang the great hook that made the song
the hook and the piano are the obvious things that made the song. but the metaphorical lyrics are the other
Yes that is the song on the surface to people who don’t really care about everything else going on metaphorically
Yea init Chris Martin made this spectacular
Alex vee yessir
I’m only here for Chris
It’s 16 years ago and still one of the best songs of all time.
Kanye’s music back then use to speak directly to my soul
Damn the comment section is filled with people that just discovered the song or just realized how good he is
That's a good thing; some of the best things in life are those that grow on you, nostalgia inducing - they get better with time like fine wine.
Imagine in 10+ years. The youth that grew up learning that he’s “crazy” today due to the media finds out he’s an actual musical genius
Disgusting fr
Liked him back then to this day ... Jesus walks was like a song from heaven
That would be me lol.
Miss this Kanye :(
Shut the fuck up.
***** no they wont
***** chill your a little reject who no one loves
***** Why are you in the comments trolling away? Get a life.
***** but his music isn't actually that popular. His older shit (from his first 3-4 albums) got heavy airplay and sales, but ever since, his stuff has been popular every now and then. And his best album was one of his lesser selling albums.
When I listen to this after many years you realize how hard Kanye was repping his city his culture and his country
He is a musical god an undeniable icon an I’m realiazin it even more now listen back
Respect Kanye
I wasn’t really into Kanye but I decided to try this one since it had Coldplay in it. Let’s just say this is now my favourite song in the world ❤😂
One of my favorite artists no matter what his struggles are he can communicate his feelings through music and affect everyone with it
he speaks the truth. you have access to unlimited information in the internet age. there is no excuse for ignorance anymore
This so good is at the end you knew what he was speaking of

Personally, Kanye is one of the greatest artist of all time. In sense of music, design and everything, so a ARTIST
Truest shit spit on this website
You are not alone, some people can not split the persona from his music, for me he is a true Genius
Álbum after album, the Best music i have heard on a long time
I hate Kanye west now because of you
The Bowie of our generation
your pfp just brought me back bro i havent seen annoying orange in like 6 years but your speaking facts
When he said "fireworks at lake Michigan" it brings me chill and nostalgia of my childhood growing up in Chicago.
a fkn classic this won’t never get old🔥🔥.
After 11 years since this song had been released Im just realising that Chris Martin from Coldplay is on the piano.
Who did you think it was before
Probably John Mayer lmao
Lol it’s a little funny how on the album this song is right before Big Brother where he talks about jayz copying his Coldplay feature
sucks
This song was actually released in 2007, thats 14 years ago,not 11.
One word for this song is
Nostalgia
Agreed
Man I miss the old Kanye
Precisely
word. i heard it in a Shorts and the memories flooded back
My favorite Kanye West I want this played at my funeral 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾⚰️
I really miss this Kanye I want the old Kanye back bless your heart you’re so smart & talented ❤️🙏🏾
There is a thin line between genius and insanity, very creative people will often seem irrational at times, Kanye has made some of the best music of our generation. College dropout is still my top 3 all time albums.
100% agree.
Soo on point
For sure
This 1 single song maybe gold digger
This song is not from college dropout it's from graduation
Listened to this yesterday at my graduation. The sound of the kids yelling seniors through the halls as we headed towards the field. The smiles of everyone and the cheering will forever be engraved in my mind. Class of 2022
Congratulations 🎊 👏
Welcome to real life (:
Congratulations bro
I listened to this song at my high school graduation almost 15 years ago. Funny how things don’t change.
Class of 2017 here, except I was listening to this when I was 10 years old going into 3rd grade. Glad Spotify brought this one back👌🏻
I started to actually listen to kanye for like 1 month, and his music is just perfect, with his music it's like to go in heaven,
but unfortunately, when he says what he says he brings me back down to earth.
Thru it all Kanye Legendary don't forget 🙏🏾🔥🔥🔥
Ye wrote a whole Chi-Town anthem and people didn't realize it they need to play this in the Chicago airport as soon as u land
Ohare
Just listen to it on the plane when you’re landing. It’s just as good.
Great point
Hell yea they do
Not O'Hare Midway...Southside
I was 8 years old when this song was released, but I had never heard it until this year. I'm 20 now. This song somehow feels like a nostalgia for a time I never experienced, but one I unconsciously lived through.
Saudade is the feeling of being nostalgic of something you never experianced like remembering a small town that doesnt excist
i was literally 3 years old, now 17, from germany, my parents didn't know kanye until i showed them ye like a 3 years ago. But i got the same vibe. my dad showed me much music from this period of time so i guess, many artists were inspired by ye or ye was inspired by them. Thats the only reason i can explain this nostalgia to myself tho
8 years ago when I was 20, this song helped me realize an abusive home is not a home at all.
This song came out when I was 6, and I turned 21 a month and a half ago, so you might be a little off on that...
@@ricorico6466 you're right lol! I was also 6 but I could've sworn this album was released in 09. everything kind of blends together from my childhood
Kanye I know you won’t see this but you are amazing keep making amazing music like this!
Thank you kanye for this beautiful music...
I honestly think kanye is the greatest rapper of all time. He puts in so much creativity in his music that makes it so special.
Nope kendrick takes that one
@@brayden141 Agreed
You not alone
Kanye has a very wide variety of songs. None of them are alike
I hate to be the Stan but the greatest is Eminem. Some of Kanyes work has been brilliant but Eminem has far more consistency. He has far more technical ability and manages to create relatively simple emotive songs. Halies Song, Beautiful and When I'm gone for example.
This song is just perfect
The production, lyrics and the hook by chris martin
Everyone whos hatin on yeezy get fuck out
Philipp Gabler 💯💯
*Mr west
Philipp Gabler the hook is orgasmic
Lyrics is freakin bullshit but at least sound perfect

RJC3 that song was fire!
kiddkevo Kanye is already back.
kiddkevo wait for his next album
We will miss the old Lange :(
TIMELESS MUSIC, REAL MUSIC
Idc what anyone says, this is one of Kanye’s best songs ever along side Flashing Lights, Heartless, Good Life, Touch the Sky, and Slow Jamz.
Well said! Wonderful comment!
Anyone else here got stuck with "old Kanye songs" loop?

I will always love and support Kanye. His music impacted a large portion of my life and the constant media crucifixion will never take that away. I wish all the best to our musical genius and I hope he comes out of this on top!! 💜

"Going down" idk kind of. I don't agree that's it's bad I'm just saying that's probably what they did it for
One of the greatest hooks of a kanye song
Totally agree!
Chris Martin I think it is
one of the greatest hooks of all time
Young Krillin true
heard em say
This song never grows old in my mind. Always a great balad.
Unironically I think these are the most beautiful lyrics he's written. Closer to the fancy old poetry they made us read in English than any other mainstream song.
chris martins voice fits this song perfectly :P is there anything he can't do perfectly? (thats a rhetorical question, dont answer)
He can't do something non-perfect perfectly, according to you. :D
Fahmid Alam lol what
adza botchway What i think he meant is that he does not perform oral sex on men perfectly because he is not a homosexual man
rocket5010 thanks for clearing that up for us hahaha
