Don't apologize for treasure hunting. You need it to upgrade your weapons. It's a HUGE part of the game. Been loving your RE playthroughs. But be a completionist. 😁
Hi Sam, I don't know if you bought it, but this game has a paid DLC called "Separate Ways", it's Ada's campaign, it's almost as long as RE3 remake and it's iconic and as incredible as Leon's adventure, it enriches the lore since you'll know what Ada was doing during Leon's adventure, it'd be a blast watching you play that as well!
Another tip about weapons: All weapons are viable. So just because you see a new handgun in the shop, for example, doesn't mean it's necessarily better than the one you have. A specific example; the Silver Ghost (the starting handgun which you have) is well-rounded overall, is compatible with the laser sight (sold in the Merchant's Trade page for spinels), and, when fully-upgraded, has a 5x critical hit chance. Another handgun, such as the Punisher (also in the Trade page in the Merchant's shop), does a little less damage than the Silver Ghost, but can penetrate multiple targets. The Red 9, the handgun you picked up off that boat in the lake for free, hits harder than either of those handguns, but has a small magazine. That being said, if you see a new gun and want to try it (that new Riot Shotgun, for example), don't be afraid to sell your current shotgun to get some extra cash to put toward that Riot gun. There's not much need to carry two different shotguns around, and if you ever want to return to that original shotgun, the Merchant will sell it back to you for just a little more than you sold it to him.
Good video! One suggestion: you may want to sell previous weapons if you obtain a new one. For example, you don't need two handguns, or two shotguns. Having two of the same weapon takes up unnecessary space in your inventory. So since you have the Punisher, you can sell the Red 9. Also, you bought the Riot gun, so you can sell the shotgun that you found. The new weapon the Merchant has in stock as you progress is generally more powerful than the previous weapon. Just my suggestion. Looking forward to further videos! 👍
Awesome Episode!!! Tips, u can shuffle(move) items in case to ur liking. U can skip herb cart and just click and drag on top of each other. Tmp stock is very handy with top. And yes, they took away Ada's sexyness for Modern audiences.
Yay, a new video! I love how normal and genuine these playthroughs are. So many "full time" TH-camrs just blast through these games like it's their job, give soy face reactions to the camera, and just move on to the next game. These feel like I'm watching my friend play a game and seeing them genuinely enjoy it. Don't ever worry about "boring" the viewers with backtracking and treasure hunting! This game rewards that kind of thoroughness, and it's a big burst of dopamine seeing you figure out a puzzle, or finding a rare treasure. Good job picking up the sniper rifle -- I used to sleep on it in the original game, but that bolt-action sniper is a beast. I run Professional mode exclusively nowadays, and it's one of the first things I purchase and upgrade, because if you can land headshots (or whatever the weakpoint on the enemy is), it will do damage that's superseded only by magnums. The bolt thrower in the Remake is a descendent of the Mine Thrower in the original game -- hence the attachable mines that you can put on the bolts. IMO, on harder difficulties, the Bolt Thrower has a hard time pulling its weight on most enemies beyond the standard villager, simply because it doesn't hit hard enough. And as you said in the last video, especially since you are on Standard difficulty at the moment, you're not really struggling for ammo too much for the retrievable bolt feature to really come in clutch. The game's dynamic difficulty system also adjusts ammo drop rates when you're running low, so it's rare that you're going to be bone dry in the ammunition department. The silent shot feature is fine. For treasures, be sure to check out the little "gemstone bonuses" page that pops up when inspecting combinable treasures. You'll see that, for different numbers of gemstone slots, you'll get different value bonuses on the total selling price, depending on the combination of gems. So for example, with the Butterfly lamp (it has three slots for gems), you got a 1.3 bonus by using gemstones of three different colors (one red, blue, and yellow). However, you can get a 1.4 bonus by using all three gems of the same color (for example, three reds, or three blues, etc). The individual value of each gem is also taken into consideration; so a 1.4 bonus Butterfly Lamp is worth more if it has three yellow gems, instead of three red gems (yellow gems are worth more per gem than reds and blues). I'm not sure if you realize this, so I don't want you to be misled: the Rocket Launcher is a one-use item! You cannot find ammo for it. Just because you keep saying you're saving up for it. XD When it comes to upgrades, I always recommend upgrading your handgun, considering it's the weapon you are likely to be using for most of the game. Doesn't matter which handgun you use, as EVERY weapon is viable, and works a little differently; just put some upgrades into firepower, and maybe fire rate. c:
Good morning Sam I'm watching and enjoying my coffee with RE4 and the beautiful character of Ashley this morning. have a nice Thursday today and take care my friend Thank You Sam.☕👻🦚
A bit of advice for the gems. Most of the time, you get the biggest Gemstone Bonuses by combining gems of all the same color. Also, I strongly recommend getting the laser sight for your pistol. It will improve your accuracy and increase critical hits. Although a lot of people will disagree with this, I think the Punisher is the best handgun in the game. Can shoot through multiple targets, very fast and accurate, holds tons of ammo, compact on space.
The Red 9 is the most powerful handgun..the rocket launcher is only one shot... and i hope you plan on selling your other shotgun now...no need to keep two handguns either
🚨You can only use the rocket launcher one single time! 🚨 You might not wanna use your hard-earned pesetas on that. Good call on the riot gun though! You can sell the regular shotgun now, rather than have both. Also, don't forget you can stab with the knife (L1+R2). Going great ✨
Not bad at all, especially for those who haven't played original RE4.But with your experience with RE games you need more challenge, for example, start this game on hardcore difficulty. Some combat tips:'cause RE4 have more differences to previously RE games you need more tactics. 1)Don't stay long in one place and shooting to one foe if other foes come around 2)Watch your current weapons clips before fight.Keep an eye on clips/bullets/shells all the time.Your often mistake start to shoot with half or less clips.Carefully choose moment for reloading. 3)upgrade weapons is crucial.Firepower is critical, and don't miss capacity and reloading time useful too 4)More practice to parry.Handguns super duper, just more practice with it.Shotguns less effective with range, better shoot fixedly But,these advices more for hardcore. For standart just useful info
about the merchant don't really think too much about it just really a no brainer, just keep buying the merchant's offers, new guns and tune up weapons, mostly the new guns are way better than the previous one type of gun you using (except for handguns, capcom balanced them all out) Reminding you that in one merchant tips, whenever you tune up your weapons you get almost all the money you spent for it when you sell it (it's basically 95% getting your cash back) so it's really a no brainer + it gives you inventory space and yeah about the rocket launcher mind you it's a ONE TIME USE, if you want to cheese out some bosses you do you😂 ps: it's fine if you don't get all the treasures or just trying to find something but when in doubt just keep opening the map, it will really help you out than just being frustated running round in circles😂 (map tip you can keep pressing up and down button to see the levels of the map, it will help you see what level the areas, paths, loot, treasure or the whole map)
Hi Sam, that cabin fight is my fave part of the game i think we all died there a few times on first playthrough. I ended up doing it on professional difficulty no gun just knife and some flashbangs for when it got out of control i just wanted to see if i could do it. Talking of professional would you try hardcore and professional difficulties sometime?
@@SamAndersonGames Hardcore is pretty rough, but Professional is very rough. There are no auto saves in Professional mode. Only typewriter saves count. If you dye, you have to revert back to your manual save at the last typewriter. 🤦♂️
Stop running you can loose Ashley if you suddenly walk into enemies and you need to go back to get everything before you advance you lost treasure in the lake area
Yes, Ada has a new voice actress, part of the Fan base didn't like it, I didn't see any problem, 6 years have passed, Leon speaks differently because he's no longer the rookie cop, and Ada doesn't need to pretend to be from the FBI and can be more serious, so I consider the change as part of the character.
The change of Ada’s voice actress caused a bit of controversy, many fans did not like the new performance and expressed their opinions online. The VA took it kinda hard and accused people of being biased since she’s the first Asian to voice Ada (nonsensical in my opinion). For me the performance is very flat and lacks personality.
I have seen some people say this a few times but just wanted to emphasize it more here. You are losing a lot of damage and stun on your shotgun shots. You are shooting way to far back. The distance you are shooting the shotgun at is so little damage you would be better off just using the handgun ( it would do more damage). The shotgun is a really good weapon when used at its maximum efficiency and that's getting up close and personal.

Remember, this is a Resident Evil game. You do NOT need to kill every enemy you see. It’s sometimes better to just cut and run and avoid them.

You gotta use your other guns when dealing with mobs. Just using your handgun is impractical.
You cut the merchant off by talking to him again. He told you to take care of any leftover business. His way of telling you you wont be back here.
