Good video thanks. Yeah the timing by ear method is (as I recollect), to turn the distr until it speeds up, then bring it back down gradually to just the point where it begins to slow down; it will run fairly good that way), of course timing light is best but as this video's author states some things run better at 16 deg rather than 12, the 12 may be to meet emissions standards ?

Probably for emissions and it’s a safer compromise than having to run 93 octane at altitude to prevent knocking. As far as I know, this engine doesn’t have a knock sensor.

I put a m90 supercharger on mine. Had to put her at 25° timing to get her to run great.

I messed up and forgot to mark the rotors orientation while replacing the distributor, wires and plugs. I managed to drop it in in a position where it starts up right but it idles slightly too rough for my liking. Rougher than before. I’m fairly certain its in the right position but I’ve never messed with degrees or anything. What do you suggest?

I’d unplug the coolant temp sensor, and get it started, maybe with a friend to help rev it for you. Start twisting it, one way it will idle lower, the other higher. Once it will idle on its own, turn it off, plug the temp sensor back in, and go for a drive. You can get it close “by ear”. I ended up at about 16 degrees of timing by ear which the van runs great even on 87 gas.

Turbo going on is easy. Fuel system is the hard part 😂

I want a walk through of this and I also wanna five speed a lebaron

Because I don't understand does the spinning of the cap twist or the whole thing

@@crushed2543 there’s a lock bolt. When you loosen that, it allows the base under the cap to twist.
