    I think devs should remove the hp cav bonus from feudal, not fair vikings had to pay for berserks, berbers have to pay for camels (so expensive), monaspas are absurdly broken, more melee armor and attack are even higher than the old aoe standars, and the unique tech that makes ur cavarly taking less pop space is basically the same as the bengalies tech but even better, with 15% more units and cheaper

    The price of the cav unique units from newer civs really show the power creep of the more recent DLCs: Back in the day, we had Cho-Ko-Nu, Mangudai, Cataphracts, Longbows etc. all basically slightly altered versions of units that were stronger in their own way, but also came with a very similar or even slightly higher cost. Now we have Leitis, Coustelliers, Monaspa, ... units that BOTH cost much less than a knight AND are much better. Really bad balancing imo.

      @AnkaraAnkaraMessiMessiMessi วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      This is great point, massing Mangudai is bit hard since mongols dont have an eco bonus to get there since they are really expensive (all the techs you need to research + the raw cost of the unit). Mongol late game is possibly top 10/top5 best of the game but you dont have facilities that Georgeans do. Increasing the cost and reducing a bit of their eco power might be a good option to nerf them without killing the civ.
      At the same time i want to say the church is a borderline overpowered building, it ofers too much for its cost on top of that on this civ it booost your economy so hard and its almost imposible to punish with an aggressive push.

    • @jcbo8906
      @jcbo8906 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Well consider first how "used" those expensive UUs were time ago (I mean at DE launch both Keshiks and Leiciai were just soo bad for their higher cost they got before), Cavalry UUs need to have a reason to be made and already mining stone from multiple castles is a hard task, also, we already have seen cases of Cavalry UUs that cost more but still were overpowered (at DE launch Bulgarians were worse than nowdays but Konniks were completely overpowered, and they were more expensive to upgrade, as well pre nerf Centurions in castle age).

      @@rodriguedelhay1231 So what? They have 3/2 and 5/2 (elite) armor. Even the pierce armor with 2 is decent compared to other unique cav units that only have 1 like the Leitis, Cataphract, or Konnik.
      Against everything except Leitis or Composite bowmen it basically makes them better since armor gets better exponentially until 1dmg where it's neglegible. In short: The low hp is a downside only in fringe cases. They're still way more cost efficient than knight against literally everything (even Leitis) due to their meagre 45 gold cost even without being massed which is just way too good for a balanced civ imo.

    What saddens me the most about Georgians is that their tech tree and options are incredibly broad and wide but the civ just never makes use of their Tower bonuses and flexibility because you always want to go for Castles to spam Monaspas...
    I think the unit needs a massive nerf more than anything (Like -4 or more base attack or +40 gold cost. I like a combination of both personally), the healing also needs a bit of rethinking (I wish it was 15% like before but locked into their Imperial tech).
    I wouldn't mind a slight nerf to their Church bonus either, say like 8%.
    The civ would end up being a fair bit worse but also much more versatile and, hopefully, fun to play as I really like the "defensive and cavalry" archetype. Is very unique and I want them to be more than just spam your op unit.

    @Apocalypso64 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

    My versions of the Georgians and Armenians from a few years ago and then again last year were considerably more balanced, historically accurate, and interesting. The Georgians were designed around having a strong late game with a lackluster early game, with their defenses helping them get to their long late game, while the Armenians were an aggressive, early rushing civilization, but their strengths tapered off as the game went on. If you could survive an early Armenian cavalry push (they were historically good with cavalry), then you would have an easier time in the late game, as the Armenians didn't have many strengths after that point. Sure, the Armenians had good siege, another one of their historical specialties, but siege is slow, vulnerable to BBCs, and expensive.
    The Georgians, on the other hand, had excellent infantry in the late game (their historical specialty), along with decent cavalry, but they needed to rely on their towers to get them there, as tower rushing was really the only early game strategy they could do. Once they were in the Imperial Age, though, and got their unique tech to give their Champions +30 HP (real subtle, devs), they would start to get much stronger.
    These specialties, power spikes, and periods of the game where those civs are stronger and weaker are all historical, as the real Kingdom of Georgia was primarily good with infantry and only really reached its peak in the later Middle Ages. The Armenians, on the other hand, were good with cavalry and siege weapons (NOT infantry and ships, mind you) and their peak was in the early Middle Ages, which is why I designed them to have a strong early game power spike with a weaker late game. The devs going in the direction they did with these civs is baffling, as my designs are not only more balanced, but more historically accurate and interesting, as I stated in my first sentence. The devs seemed to have completely disregarded history when it came to the Armenians, and balance when it came to the Georgians. Unlike my concept, they didn't even get a new architecture set. Overall, considering how much I know about and love the history of the Caucasus, it's kind of a disappointing DLC. If they had just cribbed my ideas wholesale without many changes, I would have been upset about not getting credit, but they would be far better than the official versions, at least in my opinion.
    Sorry for the essay, but I had to get my thoughts out there.

    -50 wood at start, force wood chopping for a mill. Start healing in castle age. Remove healing for cav archers. Match gold cost for Monaspa to knight line. Even with all these changes, you would still see Georgians picked in tournaments. They would still be high A tier. Makes sense to me.

    Nah Nah Nah, all these things - early build order, archer opening, scout opening etc is relevant only for very high ELO players where they GG within 35-45 minutes. Sudden Civ bonuses are also relevant for them.
    For mid and low ELO players, with typical games lasting 2 hours, we are essentially looking for maximum crush power in the post imperial age and in this, till date nothing compares to the crush power AND speed of Frankish paladins. This is why Franks are still popular cuz nobody can deal with a paladin rush - not even a Goth pike spam. So, we need stuff more on these aspects!!So these fun things about Georgians are of no use to us!!

    It depends on how you define "strongest civilization". Most of your video explains why its very good for Arabia and other open maps 1v1 and TG. But overall there are plenty of map categories where Georgians aren't that great like water maps, Nomad, Arena. Portugese seem to be the only civ that are top tier in all the categories. If I remember correctly, they were the only civ picked across all categories in Warlords 3. And even if you're considering only open maps, I wouldn't think they are that much stronger than a civ like Chinese. Likewise Monaspas strictly deal lower damage than a 2 relic Leitis against almost all units. Monaspa also have -40 hp compared to Leitis. So I believe the perception of Monaspa being broken is due to Georgians being very strong before imp unlike Lithuanians rather than the unit itself. Crazy how a + or - 50 food at the start impacts a civ's usage and popularity.

      So you got your own answer, and scout skirm is the strongest 1v1 composition in Feudal Age, so there's that. Archers are just as fast as skirms so if you get caught you still lose units.
      Also the weaknesses of archers are low mobility (You have to always know when you can move out or not because one mistake and you lose your whole army or leave your base exposed) and much higher attention to them as one mistake and you are dead.
      Archers are also timing/mass dependent to find great damage as they lose value very fast otherwise.
      There is a reason archer play is becoming very unpopular currently at higher elos.
