This was such a great interview. Every question was relevant to the history of led zeppelin from beginning to end and held my attention throughout. Bang on job!
It's from 2003. An averagely intelligent person would've figured that out by noticing that the whole interview is discussing the release of the DVD that cane out that year.
Great interview! I think Jimmy actually let his guard down. I wanted to play guitar because of Mr. Page, when I saw Dazed and Confused from the movie, I knew that was what I wanted to do….but he had the great fortune of being with top notch players who all shared that same drive and they had some of the best chemistry! Page could improvise as could the band, on the spot.
From the round corner windows in the background, and from outside pictures I've seen of his house, I think that this may have been filmed in Page's home in London. It seems the camera man at times may be trying to show how cool the room is ?
Why has Jimmy died his hair black?? Or is this interview a lot older than a couple weeks. This interviewer being so close is unnerving and awkward to me. Surly they could have afforded two microphones.
He's always looked younger than his age. If you look at some of his pictures when the band first started, he looks like a kid! He's still looking good at 77!
I saw Led Zeppelin back in 1977 in Baton Rouge, La. They had commissioned some film company to make a film (not video) out of this concert, but the project got shelved, and the film was not properly stored, thus it deteriorated. A really bad copy of this film can be found on TH-cam.
Interesting to hear him confirm 3 EC nights were multi tracked but the 23rd was incomplete. Sucks because I think that is the best of the last 3 shows, with the 18th ad my favorite
Now that I think of it, it could be the 17th. Lots of sound issues on that show as that could be the 3rd night heal referring to. I would assume tho it was the 23rd as they were the first scheduled shows
I sure wish he had recorded more in the past twenty years. Jason Bonham does say that they recorded as Led Zeppelin EIGHTY songs in the year 2008 though with either Myles Kennedy, Chris Cornell, or Steven Tyler on lead vocals. That will be mind-blowing to have released some/one day, eh!
They were only recorded in demo form. They only had Steve Tyler work with them a day or two and page sent him packing becuase on top of not singing well. He insulted the material and suggested out side song writers. Myles Kennedy was the only one any serious work was done with the were planning on taking him on the road but decided against it . Much of the demos are instrumental with no vocals. Nothing was actually recorded in a proper recording studio . Chris cornell was rumored but it's highly doubtful he actually jammed with them .
