It’s an absolutely beautiful home and a magnificent piece of architecture and artistic work. I’m very happy to see that Sir James has restored it authentically and shows it every bit of the respect that it’s due. You can even see in the photography that the paneled walls are well fed with wood polish and the floors are very well cared for too. I’m happy that he enjoys the house so much because he’s my favorite musician.

I don’t think he restored it, but he maintains the beauty of it. I thought it was stated who Jimmy bought it from, had restored it.
Huge fan of Jimmy, I was in London about 5 years ago and stood outside the Tower House like a weirdo (although a respectful, quiet one) . Beautiful home.. I hoped to see Jimmy but he was off doing genius artist things. Wanted to see Robbie so I could yell at him on Jimmy's behalf, but alas it was not to be. Great episode. Thanks.

Page's house is a work of art much like his guitar playing !
Jimmy is an artist as well as a musician. He had an art education and has an eye for color. ( i met him and conversed with him more than once in the Led Zep days.).Beautiful colorful home, says a lot about him.

Oh how I wish that Sir James was still regularly writing music as everything that sprang from his hands were pure masterpieces and as much as I treasure his years with the Yardbirds and his magnificent twelve years with Led Zeppelin, I wished for a lifetime of his compositions. I love his work. It’s some of the most emotional and simultaneously complex and compelling music I’ve ever heard and it is part of my regular musical diet.
I wish he would interpret more classical pieces.

What a total dream this is and Richard Harris was so lucky to find this and obviously looked after it, Jimmy well deserves this fabulous edifice for the music he has given us and hopefully he will enjoy this for many more years, a total work of art. RIP Richard Harris.
It’s amazing that he had that incredible dining room table made and sold it w/ the house. He was an interesting fellow.

I visited Tower House once. Just walked by it. Such an impressive structure. I'm not too surprised Jimmy has given it the respect it is due.
Many thanks for the video, and to those who have restored and continue to preserve this home. I work for the US NPS and have the good luck to spend a lot of time in historic structures. So many naturally lend themselves to making music, acoustic and electric. Totally understand the vibration issue.

Didn't think any place was as special as Friar House. The inside of Jimmy's has out done it, but nothing compete with Friar's gardens. Hats off to both owners...

One of the most important historical houses in Britain surely….and one of the most beautifully whimsical. The architecture itself is outstanding, it deserves to be looked after for the rest of its day. I’m in awe of this level of artistic excellence and expression, thank the Gods Jimmy is too. I live a twenty minute walk away, I might have to take a detour to the park to have a look. My sister worked with Jimmy's ex wife, he's a nice guy.
I’ve heard that about both Jimmy & Robert, that they will talk to fans, maybe not for long though. So many others can be nasty, but I’ve heard only praise for them.

There looks to be an outlet about a foot above the floor on the wall. You can see it about 8 minutes in , it would be to Jimmy’s left. There is a man with Jimmy about 9:50 in, and it would be right behind him. 9:54 it is visible again.11:55 another one between the empty chair and Jimmy.

Although I've never been inside the Tower House, when I lived in London during the 1980s, my landlady had been a friend of Richard Harris in the 60s, and spent much time partying in Melbury Road. Her recollections were pretty vivid!
Its fairly clear that he was living out the part of King Arthur here, particularly with the Round Table. You really have to be larger than life to live in a house like this, the last stand of the Pre-Raphaelites, as it crashed into the Arts and Crafts movement.
Quite coincidentally, I ended up working alongside RH in 1983, on a revival of "Camelot". He was quite a handful, but a really decent bloke, and a couple of times I got him waxing lyrical about his time here.
11:40 I’d assume that photog Ross Halfin probably did some of the photography in question-he and Jimmy are good friends and do some work together.

7:10 You can clearly see there is electrical uplighting. Obviously electrics are present. As for electrical outlets, they are obviously required, if only for vacuuming, cooking, maintenance etc, theyve just been sympatheticaly positioned. At 7:40 you can see a lit desk lamp.

I didn't quit understand the purpose of bringing George Harrison and Friar Park into this video.
well, old homes much older got wired and the wires are inside metal tubing, discreetly along the wall moldings. there are lights shining up on t he tops of the walls, onto the paintings. So that 's possibly electrical wiring. Look on the walls, the light switches might be dark brass or old dark brown plastic. I can see one behind a door . If there are chandeliers, or wall sconce lights, there is wiring.( i see some) . Could be behind the paneling, easily removed and then put back on. I see speakers on the bottom right on one scene. Those would probably have to plug in. If no candles, then he has lights. It's a victorian home, those usually got wired not long after wiring became available.

Amazing! It should be left to the "National Trust' so that ALL can enjoy it.
It wouldn't be easy to open to the public as you really do need to get up close to the decor to fully appreciate it. I've been lucky enough to see most of the rooms, they are not large (although of course larger than your average house) so visitor numbers would have to be limited in both numbers and amount of time allowed in the property.

There was a big trend in the late 1960s and early 1970s with all these (once poor) pop stars buying great old English country homes, mostly because they were the only ones who could even afford them at the time. I'll be discussing more soon. So please stay tuned. Thanks!

I've always wondered if it was a large kitchen or perhaps even a garage? There seems to be a tiny walkway that attaches it to the main house.
Do you happen to know what I'm referring to? I've never seen interior photos of it and it's never talked about from what I've been able to tell for myself.

To me it seems like living in a museum, not very homey. I do appreciate the architecture of course. But I'll take Friar Park with its sense of humor and beautiful gardens etc... Big Jimmy fan but where's the recording studio or at least a cool secret passage? lol

At the time in January 1970 when George Harrison bought Friar Park, Jimmy Page wouldn’t have the money to buy it.
I’m sure art wise It is spectacular; but It looks about as comfortable as a spike !

No matter how wealthy the owner is, or with as much artistic integrity both he and the house has, you cannot guarantee in life that your neighbours will be more than ignorant plebs......
I live directly across the road to Jimmy, which is ok, but he’s always coming over, asking me to show him how to play stuff on guitar, to be honest, he’s becoming a bit of a pest. 😄

About 60 seconds into the video you can see what looks like a stereo system and some records. So Jimmy doesn't allow a TV to be turned on but a stereo system is OK? That makes no sense.
