Thank you so much for the zoo tour. Just some context for this creation: the aim is to simulate a wildlife sanctuary with aesthetics of Singapore and Bali, presenting all wildlife in their native environments. Most of the management features in Planet Zoo are deactivated here to increase realism. While keepers and caretakers are necessary to enable animal placement in the game, the intention is to showcase animals living naturally - foraging and hunting for food in their own habitats. The exception being the elephants which are presented as being having specialist care in a protected sanctuary.
The aesthetics of the zoo and the encounters with animals is designed to convey what it’s like living in or visiting these places. Living in Singapore, sometimes I can come across Otters running through a park, sometimes I might be able to spot the crocodile in the mangrove and very often I cross paths with monitor lizards. So the animals here are meant to be potentially missed if you aren’t looking for them :-)

It took a long time, for sure. I didn't count but definitely 300+ hours. It was a very gradual process, but I kept going as I wanted to show people what it's like to be in Asia.

That was what I was thinking, the tamples is Bali inspired location, you maybe draw inspiration from Way Kambas Elephant Sanctuary in Sumatra and the modern architecture wa definitely inspired by Marina Bay of Singapore. Great zoo man!

This is hands down the best zoo I have ever seen! A masterful creation that emulates a real life experience. Jaw-dropping realism, the immersion is mind blowing. I can't believe it was done in 300+ hours! It would have taken me months and months. It's so beautiful at every turn. I would love to download it and experience it for myself...my current pc would implode lol

You should have a go - it seems like it would be draining for a computer, but I've had friends play it with older laptops and computers with 1060 cards for example, so it should run ok.
This is absolutely mindblowing! I recognise some of the inspirations from Singapore and Bali, and didn't imagine it to be recreated to such a level of perfection! Definitely gonna use some inspiration from this.

As Indonesian I’m absolutely amazed by the details, the colors of the temples, the plants, even the textiles on the statues and trees!, it’s heavily inspired by Bali, especially Ubud I think, I can see a lot of resemblance with real places in Ubud. Btw the little baskets with flowers are offering for the spirits, it’s a thing in Balinese Hinduism.
You are absolutely correct - it's specifically 'what if a future Bali was highly developed? What could an ideal harmony of nature, modern and historical culture look like?' Therefore, it's a bit of an optimistic wish on maintaining balance and non-interference of wildlife.
Glad you recognise the offerings - the basket is the smallest relevant piece in the game that I could use but does the job 😀

I’ve just started playing Planet Zoo Console Edition and this tour blows my mind. The creativity on display here, along with the planning, patience, and outside-the-box thinking is on another level. I wish I could be even half this good. I don’t even want to fathom how much time was spent crafting this masterpiece
Thank you so much for the kind words. It took a long time for sure, although I’ve played a lot of planet coaster before so the functionality of building in this type of game was well established. Best to start off small and focus on individual scenes and build up over time 🙂

I was happy the way the 'monkey temple' area (with the old stone bridge) turned out, mainly because you get that sense of depth which is what it's like in real life 🙂

"Jalan-jalan" is Indonesian language, it means "having a relaxing walk or vacation." I'm genuinely amazed by this one, he took sooooo much inspiration from my country that pulled back my memory of visiting tample of Borobudur here, soooo cool. Definitely the best one so far.

It's so beautiful. It really feels like a genuine zoo. The only critique I have is for the signs. The typeface used for the body text is somewhat hard to read. If the creator really wanted to use that typeface, I would use it as display type, i.e. for the titles of the signs. Then I'd choose a much more legible typeface for the body text, probably a sans-serif typeface, e.g. Helvetica. I'm not saying I'd choose Helvetica, but it's in that category of typefaces.
Fair point. I think I chose the most sans serif plain and legible option out of what’s available but agree that the fonts on signs can be hard to read, especially when the sign is quite small.

You’re in luck because it’s inspired by Bali and Singapore. You can visit the monkey forest in Ubud to explore ancient temples inhabited by macaques - personally, a core memory moment the first time I visited there :-)

Indoor *and* outdoor yoga 😀 Zoo is fairly well optimised so there isn't much lag, despite hundreds of thousands of pieces. I started adding pieces and when the game didn't slow down, I just kept going.

Hello DeLadysigner and everyone, fellow Dutch Person here Lol, after following Your Channel for a while i finally can say i'm a Planet Zoo player myself as i play on Console, i whas never able to play as i don't have a PC sadly, but now it's Like a dream come True it came out on Console, that is on XBox series S and i'm verry pleased with the result, is has some bugs but i'm Sure they fix these later, also i'm fine if the Game is not as big as on PC, i'm allready happy we got it for Console

That dome looks like the Clouded Forested at the Garden by the Bay in Singapore.
Yes, it is. I live in Singapore and that dome is largely based on the cloud forest. Some big changes to get it in the game and to adapt the dome into something build able in zoo (although it was the hardest thing I ever made 😂).

@@gelinrefira yeah, I’ve made plenty of symmetrical domes before but this is asymmetrical which is more difficult. The structure wasn’t so bad - manual but doable. The pain was the glass: 1500 pieces of individually rotated pieces. I did a bit until patience wore out and then returned to do more later, etc 😂

The contrast of the clean modern hotel and the natural landscapes and old temples is giving off a "premium eco tourism," that's probably not the vibe they were going for.
Ecotourism's goal is to protect nature, however, it's implementation often falls very short of that responsibility. What if human corruption and greed was able to be put aside and habitats were genuinely protected? That's what I'm trying to depict.
I live in Singapore and so the station, hotel and surrounding greenery are very much what it's like. The temples are based on real balinese templates and it's what they are like, including having troops of monkeys take habitation over some abandoned templates. The Elephant sanctuary is what I wish it would be like: no elephant riding, no elephant bathing, elevated canopy to separate tourists from the Elephant's view and all put there to protect their sanctity. Unfortunately, Indonesia is far from this ethical vision and although it's easy to criticise, changing the way of life of another culture is a slow and difficult process. What if Bali would be a wealthy and developed nation of its own and chose to preserve the culture and wildlife in a responsible way? No, very unlikely but that's what I made Sauka to be.

Watching your videos has got me back into planet zoo, but I just had a few questions! As I've been taking inspiration from your zoo's, and the tours.
In your building montages your able to copy and paste multiple things within a group without making another group, is there a shortcut for that? So sorry if this isn't explained well, but I hope you understand what I mean!
I can answer that :-)
Yes, you can - you can make a group from two or more items. Once inside the group, you can click to drag select items and it will only grab items in that group. To duplicate, it's the same as outside the group but I always use keyboard shortcuts: Control-D for a copy which moves with the mouse, while Control-Shift-X (now I'm out the game, it might just be Shift-X... I can't think as it's just a reflex now) will do an advanced copy paste. It starts off in the same position as the original but with the arrows so you can precisely alter the position of the new piece. The latter is good for walls where you want it to be extended without changing the position too much.
The caveat is that grid pieces behave differently to the free-move pieces. You can't advanced move grid pieces and you can't combine buildings which have grid pieces into a single building, as it will not know how to combine the separate grid systems into one.

I would choose for an animal with a high appeal and that doesnt get stressed too fast 😊

It’s not a functional hotel as in the game recognises it as that. It’s just a building for show, with the info and restaurant integrated into the structure.

True. Primary focus was to convey what it's like to visit Asia IRL, so it's more about chance encounters with viable native wildlife of the region. It's reasonable to expect that a 'zoo' would have animals but this was more of an optimistic sanctuary protecting the wildlife that is there and it's pretty hard to see many animals when you go walking about, even though they are all around.

I've never seen horses in Bali. I know they exist in Indonesia so they could have been added, I guess... I mainly wanted to convey what it's like to walk around Singapore and Bali: the chance encounters, the monitor lizard running across your path, etc.

Same. This is an insanely breathtaking work, but not as much zoo content that I expected to see when clicking the video.

Totally fair if it's not your thing - zoo does suggest a traditional zoo whereas this is intended as an optimistic sanctuary. But I would challenge the realism being low - if anything, the realism is pushed beyond what the game engine supports. The biggest gripe I have is that they don't have long tail macaques, so I used the Japanese ones instead. And the big terrain wall.
When you walk around places like this in Asia, sometimes you cross paths with animals, sometimes you don't - it's just by chance. I've only ever seen the otters in Singapore four times for instance. Having monitor lizards run across your path is pretty common. The temples are based on Balinese temples, the monkeys are indeed all over them.
it would be fair to say that the financial model depicted is unrealistic but this is more of an optimistic 'what if' where greed and corruption can be put aside and the sanctuary was set up in the way it should be: promoting non interference and the protection of animals (specifically elephants in this case) against real world poaching threats.
