Adventure Vlog #18 Camping and Riding at Big Scrub ATV Campground

- Hello everybody! Thank you all for stopping by to watch. In this video, I visited a place called Big Scrub ATV Campground, located in the Ocala National Forest, and this campground is primarily used for outdoor enthusiasts who use ATVs, Dirt bikes, and side by sides. I made a reservation online but the site never stated that the park was closed, or should I say, unattended because I was able to get in and camp the night. One of the 2 restrooms was still functional so I was able to take a shower. Some other campers arrived during the evening but their rigs were too big to get in through the small side opening I used. The trails looked like someone took care of them after hurricane Ian passed through since I did not see any parts of the trail blocked. I stopped by 2 main points of interest, the Pinecastle Bombing Range and Blue Sink Hole. Hope you guys enjoy the video.

Really enjoyed your video. I am a regular visitor to Ocala atv riding and have been for more than 35 years. In the 70's and 80's the Forrest was open every where, but due to many people abusing the area, we now only have designated areas to ride. What I really enjoyed, was your very positive attitude towards atv riding. I only wish more people were as positive as you. Thanks for a good video, I enjoyed your commentary.

Another great video Eric. I love your zst for life and the simple pleasures. We need to find you a pick up truck. That ATV could go right in the bed and get you into even more remote spots. Just an idea. Keep up the great work man.
Oh trust me, it's been on my thinking meat "brain" for some time now. Focusing on paying off mortgage and after that, a pick up truck. Been eyeing the Ford Maverick hybrid, or a Toyota equivalent.

I went back when the host was there, and they cleaned up. It appears that during the cold months, there is no one there.

I was camping there back when I bought my 2006 banchee. The campground was 25% full. I remember parking truck next to our tents? Why did you park down the road?
The park was closed and the only entrance was a small one where the atv could fit through

@dudeinshorefishing6829 I think is like 5 bucks for parking there if I am not mistaken, free when there is no host there during slow season

Hey Eric, thanks for sharing. I live in GA and was planning a trip down to this Campsite (thanks to you). But when I was gathering information to ride there I saw that FL requires an ATV & Dirt bike to be titled & registered (not needed in GA). If I’m from out of state and don’t have the title nor registered for that matter… what else can I use in place of those documents?
Well. This area isn't heavily patrolled by rangers, so you'll be ok for the most part. Some roads may be closed due to the Navy's/Airforce's bombing drills they do in this area, but that is it. It's kind of cool to hear the explosions in the distance though.
You hear people raget practice with their firearms out here. This is no-man's land more or less.

I'm from Georgia as well ..we always. Just kept our licence and machine information on us and we never had any issues .
What map did you use? Can you share your rides trails? Is there water and electric at sites?
I was using Polaris GPS. I saw water on the sites but not electric.
