This topic alone separates you guys from everyone. Most influencers don’t go into recovery, besides saying to just take a rest day, but you guys clearly care about our recovery and are willing to go into depth. Love you guys!!
The best podcast I’ve listened to for providing not just health+fitness advice but also general wisdom to take into everyday life. Thank you guys for doing what you do.
Hello (sleep)warriors, greetings from the Netherlands. After a 31 year ciesta, becoming very unhealthy and unhappy i decided this year to turn things arround and become fit. My focus is on weightloss and muscle preservation (and eventually muscle building). You guys have been an insane help and I'm down 37 pounds already (29% bodyfat atm). I'd be very happy to use your 9 month training program achieve my goals. Keep up the podcast, I'm absolutely binging and enjoying your professional and enjoyable content. Cheers!
Thank you Mind Pump having returned to lifting after two decades of cardio, I couldn’t have done it without you. I have seen a total transformation over the past 9 months.
I think it’s great topic because I think it’s something we all do even if we take some time off and come back we over reach and following so of these tips you can ease that over reach and limit the pain and duration of that pain!
You guys always seem to read my mind and slam topics like this out of the park! I've been experimenting with cold showers first thing in the morning and I static stretch at night after I meditate usually too. I love these single topic videos! Thanks again guys!
Loving the recovery information... helping with everything from shin splints to fatigue... all in all I feel more amazing in my mid 40s than I ever did in my 30s. Thanks gents...
This content is gold. I've been a long time Mind Pump fanatic. You're podcast and knowledge has undoubtedly changed my relationship with the gym. Thank you guys. Keep doing what you're doing
I really like how you guys keep it real talk; giving great advices not just on strength training but also on recovery. Recovery days are just as important as strength training days, probably even much more important. Thank you for pushing out informative videos and looking forward to more. Keep up the great work, guys.
This helps so much guys!!! Thank you for all of your knowledge and stories. The demos of Adam in an older vid doing his pre squat movements have been following has made a huge difference in my squats and deadlifts...back ,etc. It's incredible. Following the MAPS aesthetic...so awesome!
Always like your videos, and appreciate making not just the content, but the application available/reachable to so many people. Good way to spend part of the work day. Turning 35 today Aug. 1, wanting to get started with your programs, just have been putting everything extra into saving for a house. Thank you for continuing the hard work!
Ive been follow for i think 6 years now, love everything about the show and how you guys became a hit!! Also love the partners you guys linked up with... thank you for all you do
Winner! Please email ann@mindpumpmedia.com with this episode number, a screenshot of your youtube profile, and the email you would like the program to go to!
I started taking cold showers to prepare myself for a polar bear jump I did in February this year. I started liking how I felt so I just kept doing it. I agree with Justin it is like meditation where you force yourself to stay relaxed and focus on breathing.
Loved it!!!!, Really love the explanation, I’ve been trying for almost 5 years and never took a look on “systemic inflammation” , lol Wish I could be like Sal on that “sleeping skill” he seems one of those copilot that let you talking with the road if you don’t hit him! - would love to get at least MAPS anabolic , will love to see those triggers sessions!
You guys do good work. Being able to squat with less pain due to mobility drills you guys recommend. Lots of good info on exercises. Always learning something from these, keep it coming.
I love your content! I've been listening to you guys almost non stop! My husband told me his trick to find me in the house is to follow the sound of Sal's voice 🤣
Very surprised that cold therapy didn’t include palmar cooling. Used for three minutes between sets, palmar cooling brings the core temperature and thus the muscle temperature down. Research out of Stanford shows that it allows one to do an increased number of sets. I’ve done it and it absolutely works. At any fitness level, the results are incredible. The studies are even more remarkable. This is a bigger advance than BFR or HIIT. If you haven’t heard of it yet, please do some research into it. It will blow you away. Andrew Huberman is a big advocate. By the way, love the show!
When I ran track in college, we would run until we couldn't walk. When we started whining too much, we'd be sent to "the whirlpool." A tub of water kept at 50 degrees. We had to sit nipple-deep in it for 12 minutes. Sometimes they'd pour ice into it while we suffered. Pure torture. Haha
These are all great pieces of advice. I've been trying to maintain strength training and since going through cancer treatment last year I've noticed a drop in my recoverability and have a lower threshold for volume and tend to overeach more often. I've tried alot of these methods but i'm am always looking for ways to boost recovery a bit to allow myself to keep training hard without going backwards.
Great episode. When I went into my 40’s I or my body started telling me I needed more active recovery and stretching. Cold therapy has intrigued me, i just haven’t taken the plunge on that yet.
Deep nasal breathing (preferably with humming during exhaling) has been shown to boost recovery a lot. This is a life hack most people don't know about. The secret to that is (nitric oxide gas production in the bloodstream by nasal breathing) Daily sets of 10-15 minutes will improve recovery by far.
The priming sessions and cold showers have definitely helped me recover. This definitely comes in handy if you like playing pick up basketball or flag football.
Definitely gonna be adding the fish and vegetables to my recovery meals. Ever since I started my lean bulk 2 months back, I noticed I've only been eating beef, chicken, or pork. Hope to see noticeable results!
Perfect timing! I just finished my workout and was thinking of better ways to make my recovery faster. I admire your dedication to creating such valuable episodes consistently ♥️🙏
I was a bit of a gym addict for about 5 years went through a divorce and stopped going for 4 yrs I’m 3 weeks and feeling fantastic love your channel and all the great content , I was afraid that being near 40 it would be a drag but I love it just as much now as I did then but Damn the first week doing squats I couldn’t sit on the toilet for 5 days 🤣
Great content as always! So blessed to have come across your podcast x months ago. I will never forget the moment I finally decided to bulk (after watching your EP 1565 Why women should bulk). Despite of reading and watching contents why women should bulk, you were THE.ONLY!! channel that made me do it. Now, Im loving my energy and Im eating more!! And most of all, I got rid of my bad relationship with foods. So thanks for all that you do in the fitness space! More power mind pump! ✨
I love this topic of napping and rem sleep. What’s the science on consecutive naps back to back for someone like a soldier or a person who works late night
Some of these stories Sal tells us about in the pursuit to build muscle when he was young should be turned into a damn Netflix show. Went to a school to squat and drink milk all day, lmao
A microdose of mushrooms is a very effective way for me to be able to meditate anywhere. Kinda the whole time I'm affected by the mushrooms is a meditative state, but fully conscious and aware of my actions and surroundings. Also an awesome pre-workout, personally I prefer to take mushrooms before a workout
Damn, really wish I could get those programs :( 20 year old that’s been training for 2 years but you guys have taught me so much to help take my training to the next level.
Had my first two sessions with my new personal trainer last week - could have used these tips then! As a newbie to working with a PT my legs were in a lot of pain 😪 Split squats = death. Advil and elevating my legs got me through. Thanks guys!
I just wanna say thanks, you guys are awesome. I've learned quite a bit since I've been listening to you for about 3 months now. I'm in my 30s, have been lifting for almost 10 years and have been plateaued for a couple years now. I've traditional always lifted heavy for 5-7 reps. I've been incorporating a wider variety of rep ranges, 2-3 all the way up to 15 and 20. I would have never done this because I would have thought it wouldn't give me results. Ever since I've been manipulating rep ranges I've gotten both muscle and strength gains. I also stopped training to failure nearly all the time as well. You guys are 100% legit and give some great advice. I've been telling anyone I know interested in fitness to check out Mind Pump podcast. You guys have also helped inspire me to peruse my dream of becoming a personal trainer! Anyways I didn't mean for this to turn into a novel. Thanks for what you guys do and take care!
Starting week 3 of Phase 3 of Maps Split tomorrow! Gained 3 pounds over the last 8 weeks, while eating in a slight calorie surplus. Trying to get another 5-10ths. I’ve been training for 10 years now. Would maps anabolic be the best program to do next? I also already have maps aesthetics, and i love it!
would like some programs for my pregnant wifey , any info about how pregnant ladies should rebuild their body after giving birth ? any recommendations ? thanks for the great info as usual , keep it up
I have two questions: 1. Can you trigger sessions on the same day of foundational workouts? 2. Can you do mobility sessions on the same day as trigger sessions?
What’s the best way to recover forearms? I don’t use straps so after a couple of weeks of heavy lifting, my forearms just feel tight every single day. I use a theragun and ice packs when it gets bad but that only makes things better until the next workout. Any advice would be helpful
I don’t get sore after my workouts, and now I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong. I rotate between a three-day, low-rep, heavy weight week and a four-day, high-rep, moderate weight week; so it ends up being two of each type per month. I do 8, 6, and 4 reps on my heavy weeks, increasing the load by ten pounds each set. I do 16, 12, and 10, and 8 on my high rep weeks, increasing the load by five pounds each set. My workouts are full body workouts, and I train to failure each set. On my recovery days, I do an hour walk in the forest. I supplement with some stuff that I can share if you’re interested in knowing what they are. I’ve typically just tracked my calories, but I’ve been on keto for the last four months, eating 190 grams of protein per day since 190lbs is my goal weight; However, I just got off keto a few days ago because I was having a hard time hitting my daily calorie budget. For more context, I’m a 6ft tall male of 197lbs and 15% body fat. My goal is to be 190lbs at 13% body fat. Thanks, in advance, for any tips or advice!
Im sad because i wanted to buy the RGB bundle but I was working and i couldn't get off in time to buy it yesterday. If you guys can send me a code I'll be more than happy to buy that bundle today. I really wanna try this new way to workout.
Hey guys what’s your thoughts on THC and CBD use. Sometimes in a bulk I don’t have the urge to eat anything so I’ll take THC ((sometimes I think it can increase my metabolism)). And I used CBD when I’m sore or even better the gym.
This topic alone separates you guys from everyone. Most influencers don’t go into recovery, besides saying to just take a rest day, but you guys clearly care about our recovery and are willing to go into depth. Love you guys!!
The GOATs of health and wellness right here. Keep going brothers
Bro, Sal's forearms are just jacked. I'm jealous.
The best podcast I’ve listened to for providing not just health+fitness advice but also general wisdom to take into everyday life. Thank you guys for doing what you do.
Thank you guys for everything 💪. I do foam rolling and lacrosse ball work but never a sports massage. Building up confidence for that 🥲🤣.
This is precisely the episode I've been waiting for, thanks guys!
Morning mind pump brothers! The best to ever do it! Have a blessed day 🙏🏼👊🏼💪🏼

Great content as always guys
Love the cold therapy. I'm lucky enough to live close to a very cold river so it's recovery for mind and body to jump in!
Thank you Mind Pump having returned to lifting after two decades of cardio, I couldn’t have done it without you. I have seen a total transformation over the past 9 months.
These type of recovery hacks can be extremely helpful for breaking through plateaus.
Love the show. One of my snacks at work every day is a pouch of Starkist Tuna

You guys are awesome!! I have been binge watching your videos!
All of these tips are inexpensive. This information is gold. Thanks for this podcast
I really like how you guys keep it real talk; giving great advices not just on strength training but also on recovery. Recovery days are just as important as strength training days, probably even much more important. Thank you for pushing out informative videos and looking forward to more. Keep up the great work, guys.
Hey guys love the show
Could you guys touch base on push, pull, legs and what makes a good routine. Once again love the show!
Thank you for always teaching me new things. You keep this busy mom of 3 motivated and educated! 😊

I started taking cold showers to prepare myself for a polar bear jump I did in February this year. I started liking how I felt so I just kept doing it. I agree with Justin it is like meditation where you force yourself to stay relaxed and focus on breathing.
Great topic. Can't wait to try these ideas in my recovery program.

I've just started listening and I love the information and knowledge these guys put out, I'm definitely taking a cold shower tomorrow on my rest day.
Perfect timing. I'm currently sore. I'll be utilizing these. Thanks dudes
One of the best podcast's for fitness. Learned so much from you and still keep learning, appreciate you so much 🙏
Not sure I’m as tough as you guys on the ice bath…..but I’m a big fan of all the other stuff spoken of here. 💪🏼
#getstronger

This episode is exactly what I needed to hear! Thanks for the great advice and always explaining things easy enough for dummies like me!
Use a rolling foam to.. helps alot on leg days.
I'm listening to this while I'm taking my daily cold shower!

Thank you for this information. This helps me a lot because I definitely overtrained last week
The stores in Barcelona Spain still close from 2-4 for siestas! Found that out the hard way when I studied there before Covid hit 😂
Haha Adam is wearing the holy grail of shoes.

I’m surprised that there wasn’t much talk about proper hydration, as it helps with performance and recovery.
Boom!
Spain and Mexico still
Do siesta. Everything shuts down in Spain but everyone does dinner really late. I fkn love Spain
Bro has the Sean Witherspoons sheeeeesh

Siesta - 🇪🇸 Spain has the afternoon siesta.
I struggle hitting the trigger sessions but it’s mostly because I forget!!
Remeber! Lol

Could you give a rough estimate to how long it takes for your body to adapt to a program and plateau?
I have two questions:
1. Can you trigger sessions on the same day of foundational workouts?
2. Can you do mobility sessions on the same day as trigger sessions?
Anyway to help pain in the shoulder? I advanced to early with my DB press and have slight pain for the past 2 months.
