Gotta remember, then and now, all those individual awards, MVP, Rookie of the Year, etc, are voted on BEFORE the playoffs begin. it's always been that way. Larry went to a team that won 29 games the year before and lead them to 61 wins. He desereved that ROY award.

Great video! FYI, Magic and Larry did play on the same team a few times. Most notably on the 1992 Olympic Dream Team, along with Jordan, Malone, Barkley, Stockton, Pippen, Ewing, and more. It was amazing! There has never been a better team, and you should totally react to it. There's a documentary about it that basically picks up from where this one leaves off.

I have been a Celtics fan since I was 11 years old and I lived in Canada. I didn’t understand yet the plight of racism that happened in the U.S. and, to a lesser degree, Canada. At 15, our family moved to a small town in Nova Scotia where, among my generation, there was no racism that I saw in our group. But, we did see it among police and older people.

I agree with you... Larry just wanted to play! He didn't give a damn who he played against.... he just wanted to play! He was never flashy... he wasn't looking to be in the spotlight...the #1 star. He was looking to be the best basketball player he could be.....& being a team player! Winning was Larry's goal.... and in his mind... that meant winning as a team! Everyone today is looking to be the star of the team. They want a spotlight on them and they don't give a damn if their team wins or not! Which doesn't make any sense to me.

A million bucks per year was a ton of income for one person back then. Incomes like that weren’t really even possible until the tax laws changed in the early 1980s. If you watch super bowls from the 1970s, one of the things they’d talk about to fill time between plays was the seasonal jobs various players worked in the off-season. This guys a bricklayer, this guy drives a garbage truck, this guy does landscaping, that guys a weirdo, he does accounting.

I remember those times well. Maybe the worst thing that happened was a lot of the former ABA players that came to the NBA were making huge salaries, but were also getting busted for drugs

My NF friend! 2 easy brother, probably best to do the Dream Team documentary after this one since this one kinda sets you up for the Dream Team. But your choice sir, if not you can do The Bad Boys Detroit Pistons, The Last Dance, Reggie Miller Winning Time, or I Hate Christian Laetner. Which with the Christian Laetner one you’ll get to see how dominant this man was in college, and how he man handled some of the games biggest name centers like Alonzo Mourning, and Shaq. But he did absolutely 0 in the nba

Young man your comments at the end show real insight to the evil in Ppl……. Unfortunately, today that’s still evil exist. Only now it’s being perpetrated by the perverse ideologies that are being pushed….

My NF friend!! I told you in my last comment that you looked like a person that I’d love to have as a teammate and I haven’t changed my mind, this video just proved my intuition since you talked about sharing the ball. Don’t know if you’re the type to reply to comments but if you are then I look forward to talking basketball with you sir! Real quick two things before I go 1- still hoping you do the music video of I Put a Spell on You by Angelina Jordan! I’m trying to help a brother out by bringing her very large family to your channel while at the same time introducing you to the best female voice on our planet. 2- this is one of the best basketball documentaries ever made but if you’re interested in more basketball documentaries after this just shoot me a reply my friend and I’ll hook you up with some more amazing ones to do boss!

I lived through this. Both are my favorite players of all time. But, I thought this crap about the white Celtics and the black Lakers was odd. The man running the show with the Celtics was black, and the guy running the show for the Lakers was white.

Considering you don't know anything about Magics coach....You don't know what he's been through his life! No one likes to be judged based off of looks alone....🤔
