Thanks for the info. Will help me figuring out the length and oar stop for my 14 ft inflatable sea eagle explorer kayak. Had to do some rigging and mods to stabilize the rowing unit. I will be rowing face forward.
I started coming to Down River shortly after they opened. Great company. Greg built my frame and then proceeded to make a collapsible captains chair that would allow me to check my gear onto airplanes so I could run rivers out of country beginning with the Bio Bio. Greg struggled with the seat and swore it would be the first and last of it’s kind. Great guy and great company.
I watched all your how to.. You guys are naturals, make more of these how to.. You would be surprised how many people don't know how to fit a PFD for white water and that is just the beginning (Dry suits, What to wear in the fall seasons,,ect..) I know those have been done on You Tube, But not by you guys...
Right, personal preference. SNOB rowers insist on overlapping. I grew up on a lake with a rowboat and my hands never crossed each other. Just more comfortable and enjoyable setting your oars so you will never bang your knuckles. I'm not in a race. I'm rowing.
what is high volume? what is low volume? I reside on a small 100 acre lake and i would like to row it. I have a boat with holes for oar locks. I measured them and the hole diameter was 3/4 inch and the hole depth was 2.5 inches. I went to walmart to buy want i needed but they didnt have it they said go to gander mountain or dicks sporting goods. i went to gander moutain and they only have oar clamps with a 1/2 diameter I did buy them but of course they don't work... so ill take them back. I calle Dicks and they don't have them either . they recommended i call Bass Pro..i just got off the phone with them and they dont have any either. they only have the 5/8 inch. where can i order the 3/4 inch oar locks i need? Converting inches to millimeters that would be 19 mm X 63.5 !thanks
Great advice for a novice.. helped me tremendously!! Thanks!!!
