    Couple of comments:
The shallow notch in the tool is the NO-GO notch. The firing pin tip should not pass under that notch. The deeper notch is the GO notch. The firing pin tip should be able to pass under that notch. This GO NO-GO system insures that the tip protrusion is somewhere in between the depth of those two notches.
Also, if you need to adjust firing pin protrusion, adjustments can only be made in 1/2 turn increments. This is because the flats on the firing pin must fit through the flat-sided hole in the long bolt guide. The reason the scribe marks are on the cocking knob is to quickly show that the flats will be aligned for proper reassembly.

My question is once I put the bolt in the right spot to put it in the gun the back end of the bolt pokes back a tad and the firing pin disappears is that normal or no?

What if you need to adjust your firing pin back just few thousands but don't have anymore thread left to thread the firing pin back?

at 5:35 it was still getting a bit hung up it was getting hung up on the minimum and clearing the maximum, which is what you want. It isn't supposed to pass under both- too little protrousion.
