The Sony Xperia XZ3 actually has a good camera, but not a class-leading one. Our review found that it struggled with dynamic range and low-light scenes, so we'd like to see some improvements here.
Early rumors suggest we might well get some, as the Sony Xperia XZ4 is tipped to have a triple-lens camera, up from just one rear lens on the Xperia XZ3. Of course, more doesn't necessarily mean better, but it sounds promising.

Sony Xperia are the best!! I use to have the original Z, 5 years, no problem at all, nothing!!! Change to a XZ premium, awesome phone!!! Very underrated, better than Samsung and Apple in my opinion.

I get over 6hrs SoT with XZ3 with plenty of TH-cam and gaming. I just got a 45W power delivery charger and it's super fast in charging. Went from 11% to 70% in 30mins. My only fault with the XZ3 is that it's very slippery. Get a phone case for it and enjoy.

Sorry but if you think any of Huawei's crap is better you don't understand photography. I've ran this many times against an S9+ and the XZ3 is clearly better, in any light.
true, but having wideangle and tele in a phone is so much more versatile. You can get pretty good stills out of the xz3 in manual, but still for most people its easier and more convenient to jump on a huawei.

I got the og Xperia, Xperia Z5 compact and now XZ2.
While at the start I didn't like the sony phone, I did great to like it more (which is why my last 2 devices were also sony phones). Buuuuuut.
In the camera department, they kind of suck. They are ok, but they aren't above their competitors even tho sony makes the vast majority of sensors for cameras in smartphones.
And especially in low light. Sorry, but the images sony takes are very noisy. And that's ok for me as I'm not really that much of a night time photographer.
But also stuff like trying to sometimes take a picture of the moon, or street lights, sony fucks that up. So, calling it better than other devices, "in any light" is a clear mistake.
Also, due to one single camera, the zoom is much more "limited" than other setups on the market.
Its a good camera overall, but nothing spectacular or "better" than others. And in certain conditions (ie: low light, or night scenery) is worse than other devices (like iphone which i hate, like samsung, huawei, or google's pixel).
Also, the front camera/selfie camera, which I actually use a lot (video chatting over whatsapp with my mom and dad) is just 5mp.
Tbh, that's enough for us, but again, its not OMG THE BEST. Its ok.
I like the phone, I like the UI and it having little bloatware. I love the design and how it feels.
So, overall this phone is the one I liked to most out of all out there (more exactly the xz2, but same sensors were used in xz2 compact and xz3, except the front facing camera which got better in the xz3). But its not "Better", especially in the camera department.
In the screen, maybe, but I prefer LCD anyway, so, no xz3 for me.
So, while I like and use sony phones, we should also be realistic about what we are getting.

I do own this phone and it's great. Not sure what else I can say about it. That little between flagship phones these days. Nothing really pushing phones software wise so it does everything well, as does every flagship really. You really can't go wrong with any flagship, in my experience

Good review! I have the Xperia XA 2 Ultra for $249! Has 4GB of ram and 6inch screen and 3600 mah battery! I like the dual camera in front with 120° angel. XZ3 the only phone with 4K screen. I like Xperia software. No need for nova launcher for me. The fingerprint scanner seems OK on XA 2 Ultra. IMO. But XA 3 is on the way! I think mid range phones are better. Because they don't use all those pixels and Power on screen. Just saying and battery life is longer. 💪🏽 Overall you did a good job

The location of the fingerprint sensor was THE only reason why I didn't buy this phone. That was a major design flaw, hope the XZ4 will correct this, no-one wants to keep fingering the camera!

It is a very big phone but i like the size.
Very slippery so you need to put a case on.
Stereo speaker + WQHD 1440p is a dream for TH-cam, Netflix and stuff.
The screen is very high res and battery life is not on the same Level like Huawei or Oneplus..
Still, it gets you through the Day if you go out with 85%- 100% and it has a really nice stamina mode.
Also it has battery care charging Mode which every phone should have.
It also got quik charge, (in the Box is just a slow charging apadter, which sucks)
Wireless charging and NFC
The UI of Sony is a very smooth and solid experience, they also update their flagships like 2-4 years.
Camera is very nice, especially the dedicated button. Night light shots are also quite good.
Everybody complains about fingerprint scanner positioning but i dont mind.
Oh and you can upgrade the storage and it has IP 68 zertification.
Great device! But Samsung 10 SE is also good.
Oh i forgot the always on Display and notification LED, 1 year of Playstation Network and a stand to Mount the phone on your Controller! I think that's it 😅

Ok, here we go again with the fingerprint scanner. YOu clearly shows here, its actually not in the wrong place. At 1:44 you can clearly see that you finger is in the spot. Ok, a little over, but not even close to that camera. And at 2:19 you do again show, that the fingerprint scanner isnt wrongly placed, and you kinda showing it by holding the phone the correct way. I am sorry man, you telling me as a viewer that "The only thing thats absolutely missplaced is the fingerprint scanner" and then you show us, how correct it really is? You really show us, its nothing wrong with that placing, if you hold the phone correctly.
To be honest I can't understand why everone talks about this as a bad thing, when its more or less because you are so used to the placement Samsung, LG and many other companies has placed the same scanner. You dont think Sony actually done surveys on this matter? Really? You think they just though: "Well everyone has the fingerprint scanner high up, we shall go low, to differentiat us." "Thats a great idea". Well no. Wrong. Sony has actually done tests to come up with that placing.
Sony put the scanner lower because it would make it easier to unlock the phone if pulling the phone up from your pocket. Why, well you dont have to dig into your pocket for once. You can grabb your phone lower right away, without moving your hand everytime you lock your phone.
Yes I know your video is probably positiv in the whole, but this this stupid annoying critic of a scanner, that frankly you would probably learn in a cople of days where it is. And you really dare to say that, and show how perfect placing it really has in the video. There is nothing wrong there. As I said both at 1:44 and 2: 19 you aint even CLOSE to touch the camera. So if you going to complain about something, maybe you should show the problem for real.
But thanks for a good video, despite that unfounded critic that just happens to be... You used Samsung, and other brands to much and there for used to grab your phone higher up.

Thank you for doing this video now lots of people doesn't even known sony phones and how legendary they are. There is a class to their smart phones unlike other cheap aweful looking chinese phone cant do shit but has just a numbers easy to sell to indians. Im still using Z4 till today i havent seen any lag what so ever. I just hope sony comes back to asia market.

you cant reach the finger print sensor only if you are a neanderthal or if you are shaq oneal ,due to the massive hands but for normal people its fine,
ro reach the camera its a longer stretch, to reach the sensor is pretty ergonomical.

My first sony phone was the xperia xz1 and until now i'm only into somy phones, Sony is the best for me
I had my eye on this for a while but decided to get the OnePlus 6t instead. The price is the main factor. I can live with the lower quality screen and the lack or wireless charging since my phone is always in a case. The bigger storage and front of the phone fingerprint reader were also huge factors. I prefer having the option to unlock my phone without picking it up. Hope the z4 addresses these issues. I have had the z1,2,3, and 5. Sony makes great phones.
A liitle weird for Sony to release the XZ3. So the XZ4 must show the return of it. Let's hope the XZ4 would bring back sony in the race. Maybe an XZ4 Premium? Who knows

The gap between the glass and the frame is deliberately done to prevent cracks on the glass, as the vibration on the metal from a drop would break the glass, but that gap will cushion the vibration ;) Sony are good with details 👍

I have had a couple of Sony phones in the past and I didn’t really like them due to their android operating system it was a bit of a let down as the phones are good phones. I now have an huawei phone
i held that phone in the store and wow it feels awesome! i almost bought it but the back design looks kinda ugly and for the price, the single camera doesn't do the job for me.
I have both XZ3 and Note 9. I love both but XZ3 is faster, better quality and display and a little bit worse battery. Camera is awesome!
