Here is a link to the full text guide for those who prefer it: guildjen.com/legendary-relic-guide/ Due to an editing mistake that I didn't catch in time, the part where I explained about essences of luck was cut. If you have any trouble aquiring these my number one tips are as follows: 1: You can salvage ectoplasms for luck if you are in a rush, you can sell the dust you get from the salvage to recoup much of the cost. If you aren't in a rush just get them slowly over time from basic salvaging. 2: You can use an artifcer character (level 1 skill) to merge luck into its denser forms (example: combining 10 x 10 lucks into 1x 100 luck, that type of thing)
I know the whole "salvage all the relics in front of the legendary one to show it who's boss" part was a joke, but it is worth noting that salvaging a relic gives a bunch of lucent crystals to help towards the legendary one. So might be worth instead salvaging the relics when you're close to having enough and using their ground up innards to power your new legendary :P
For those that truly hate crafting. Lhyr will sell the gifts to you at an aditional cost of ectos to feed his gambling habit. I believe he is also another clover source as well but again for extra ectos.
Any recipe that requires over 1000 of a single crafting material is a poorly designed recipe. The devs are basically going "yeah, all those materials you sold on the TP because you didn't have room for them, you should have filled a bank tab or characters inventory instead". Like seriously?! 18k or SEVENTY TWO inventory slots?!?!?? Edit: I'm not complaining about the space it takes up (obviously you'd merge them into the final product) I'm just providing a visualization for it. Imagine, 72 slot of your inventory... filled with the same material icon. Think of how absurd that is and that the devs decided "yeah, this is a normal amount".
The thing about all legendaries is that the opportunity cost on the grind versus the cost of grinding other gear to meet every need you might have is something people never really think about. If you play a lot and change your builds a lot on the fly and have many alt characters it might make sense to grind a legendary. But the fact is most people are not well served by legendary gear even with the armory. And since the relics are the same, whether it is exotic or legendary, they make the least sense to grind. I realized this when I was grinding for legendary harmor. I spent way more time grinding the armor than I would ever have spent grinding mats for the ascended gear I would want anyway. Heck, most of the time I'm using ascended exotic armor with legendary trinkets since those were at least fun to get.
I just came back to the game after a long break ( I was overseas and tend to go hard and burn myself out). Relics were introduced around the time I stopped playing, so I never got around to updating my builds. I was just thinking of making this for the convenience, since I have all the other Legendary trinkets, so perfect that you just uploaded a guide!
If you do T4 fractals dailies, you should get a reasonable amount of ascended weapons or armor. Stat swap with an intact mosaic and research kit. It’s not immediate but I am rarely needing notes when I craft.
I deleted 40+ unopened chests before realizing there were collections... And of course crafting them requires frickin' charms/motes/whatever the rune salvage thing is...
@@NaoyaYami not sure what you mean by detected, but you can craft something of value with those soulbound relics you still have while replacing them with the legendary relic. those who don't have them need a lot of those items and they're being readily sold on the tp
@@deadvodka By detected I meant they were properly registered as part of collection achi. I do try to salvage everything if I'm about to trash it anyway so but I don't recall obtaining anything specific (or I just deposited it and forgot about it).
Some of the trades for Provisioner's Tokens are uncapped. Namely, the ones that require materials that have 1-per-day quota, like Mithrilium or Charged Quartz. So, if you have a stockpile of those and you don't know what to do with them, you can shave some of the waiting off that step.
Hey Muk, I noticed when you were going over the Gift of Research, you didn’t talk about where/how to get exotic Essence of Luck (not that I needed the explanation myself - it just seemed like a minor oversight).
For those wondering, you get essences of luck of all rarities from salvaging gear and then you need to combine them together with lvl 1 artificer crafting into exotic luck essence - blues into greens, greens into yellows and yellows into orange (you need 250 total for the relic).
Not crafting this legendary relic was probably one of the biggest mistakes I made in this game. I was so focused on my ongoing Conflux and thought "Well, I still have about 10 relic chests and most of them can be either bought for nothing on the TP or in WvW, I'll most likely never even want this leggy relic". Oh boi, how wrong I was :'(
Makes me so glad I made a legendary rune to get this relic. Nearly 200k is BEYOND ridiculous even for a legendary. Yes I know it's long term. Yes I know they are relatively easy to get. It doesn't matter. It's ridiculous.
I bought the game 3 years ago. Played here and there bc i was getting bored because i couldn't find a proper class to play. Now that I'm back(again) and looks like i found what to play, knowing nothing about legendary gear, i got scared a lot seeing the amount of stuff to use for a RELIC that is far easier compared to other things.
I could have been nearly done with getting legendary runes on main with the number I was crafting/helping with crafting before this thing dropped. Worth it.
4:09 this is by far the worst tip you gave in this video. You can make quite some profit from those now unused relics, by crafting Mystic Aspects and sell those to other players who haven't gotten their legendary relic yet. Even if you have to order/buy those lucent crystals or motes (cheaper) there is still profit to be made, since the relics are factored into the price at around 10g each.
Because of this video I am attempting making this relic. I play SUPER casual, but this seemed doable, and I have a nice amount of GP to get some raw material. One interesting fact is that the Mystic Facets are like Amalgamated Gemstones, in that occasionally you will get five instead of one. As of this writing, I have all the material EXCEPT the 25 Facets. Hopefully I'll be done by next week!
Loves your videos, it helped me alot❤ I started playing 1 month ago, i got rare drop "Fang of the Lion's Champion" 😍🔥waiting for it to get sold to buy all the living worlds ♥️♥️
Ok the motes part is kinda crazy, but the rest is actually reasonable. Basically this is a “play the game, keep the mats, upgrade then occasionally, be patient, repeat…. Eventually get item” type of legendary. Easy enough
It looks like you forgot to mention the 250 essences of luck. EDIT: if someone reading this needs some info: you get essnces of luck by salvaging equipement (except ascended equipement). You can combine the small essences into bigger essences with the Artificier craftmanship (level 1 is enough).

when Anet announced the legendary relic and you can get it free if you just have *one* leggy rune I told all my friends "Go craft at least one legendary rune *NOW*!!!!" they did, then we watched as the price of materials went up, and up, and up... made some nice gold... I had 7 legendary runes already so when the relic came out we all got it free then speculated on what the requirements to craft it would be.... glad we got it free, LOL.
same. I also took the news they'd release it any day now and bought in right away. Then I realised, there was over a month left to do so and boy was I glad I bought in early. Now I'm very happy I didn't throw away or salvaged the soulbound relics when I got the legendary one..
at the current price, when buying just the cheapest way of lucent motes it's more than 975 - not including the price for relics or anything else. just the mystic aspects cost that much. I'm so glad I did buy that one legy rune.
oh wow lol i guess they reaally wanna make sure the motes dont just completely make some things valueless (like t5 mats for the less valuable t6 mats like claws and bones, i love using mine up by combining silk and mythril, two more usually valueless mats, to get research notes) i totally agree research notes n motes are tedious, but i also do see why they're there. theres nothing they can add thats easy CONTINUOUS sinks for some of these extremely easy to get mats. research notes and prov tokens have been keeping me actually kinda starved for some of these now, for once! 😂
What the crap is Anet thinking? The utter disdain they have for their customers is unreal. I put MONTHS into crafting the legendary all 7 legendary runes only to find out Anet is taking part of it away and making me craft the part they took away. Worst-value legendary by far. WvW route for relics is as good as free unless you are zealously determined never to play WvW nor to need a gift of battle. But good actual guide, as usual!
I really dont like the crafting recipe that requite you ALOT of one or a few things. like the amount you need to buy is insane and it's so tedious to click buy one stack at a time over and over. haven't crafted this recipe yet but I did craft Gen 2 that need 100+ stacks of wood and ore and this requires wayyyyy more. I'd rather have a more complicated crafting recipe.
Makes me wish that Anet would allow you to buy multiple stacks at once by saying "i want to buy 10000 lucent crystals at once" instead of "i want to buy 10000 lucent crystals, so I'm going to buy 40 stacks of 250 each"
Honestly part of me is kinda sad that if you had legy runes already you just got the relic, was kinda looking forward to have another legy to work towards

Don't salvage your old relics, use them to make new mystic facets that you can sell for a small profit on the TP over time.

Yeah I assume there was just a ridiculous amount of this stuff in the economy and they needed a drain for it.
Was thinking the same thing. This is an item that would regularly be at vendor trash prices on the TP.
They did the math based on the current price of a worthless item.
