Now that y'all have been all over the US and tried other BBQ, Y'all can now officially say THERE AINT NO OTHER BBQ THEN TEXAS BBQ!!! BBQ is not just grilling, BBQ is a way of life.
Love Texas BBQ, but I will always take KC first.
@myst0307 you mean cover up shitty meat in sickly sweet sauce? 😂
@@dylnfstr actually no, if you notice most Texas BBQ does not have sauce on it. The sauce is usually presented on the side. My view as with most ppl is that good meat does not need to be covered in sauce. Sauce only covers bad BBQ. Your thinking of kc BBQ.
They haven’t been to Q39 in kc I’m from Tennessee
KANSAS CITY!!!!!!!!!
"They're not chef's, they're artist." 💯 Agree
in all seriousness they are not chefs or artists, they are pitmasters lol.
@@nullakjg767 I would say a pitmaster is a bit of both which is why they are so unique. Amazing talent.
@@TheCAB207 its more about controlling the pit than anythign else. i wouldnt expect a chef to be able to do that without specailized training.
@@nullakjg767 I'm trying to have fun with it, not get too serious and chef do control heat but pitmasters are a unique type of person which is awesome.
Jase's first bite his soul left his body😂
Exactly!
I had the same experience as a Texan when I went.. 😂
As a Texan I get so giddy watching people experience our Texas food and culture. ❤❤❤❤
Especially Brits, it's always a blast seeing people stuck on an island that controlled most of the world but yet never realized using spices was a thing you can do to your food lol
Franklins BBQ in Austin and Terry blacks are on par with one another. Both phenomenal.
I love Franklin's, but only for pickup. The line is just too crazy to eat in.
La bbq and interstellar are my top 2 then I would go Franklin's 3rd
Both are commercial grade and unspectacular
Terry Blacks is not even mentioned in the top 20 by Texans when yearly reviews come out.
They are good for tourists to try authentic Texas BBQ for first time, but they are not in the upper tier of Texas BBQ places.
LaBBQ also in Austin, is superior to TB. Lockharts is also better.
Snow's BBQ is better, IMHO, but it's only open on Saturday, and you have to be in line early in the AM.
I just want to say something to every non-American who is trying Texas bbq for the first time. I know this is hard to believe but Terry Black’s is not the only bbq restaurant we have here.
Exactly. There’s places that beat blacks.
Nope, not at all. They're simply the BEST!
Killens is pretty good.
Terrys is top 5 brisket probably 1 or 2 On sides everything is great
Even blacks (terrys brother) is good (and less of a line than terry blacks), interstellar is better than both blacks, franklins after interstellar, then kg bbq. Austin got a lot of good spots.
Anyone else slightly triggered that Josh didn’t try the brisket first before putting it between two slices of dry white bread?🤦🏻♂️🤣
The 2026 World Cup has games in Houston and Dallas. This is the taste of America that the world needs to experience! 🙌🏻
Agreed!
@@joshandjase You have absolutely no credibility when you can't even be man enough to finish your plate... What, was there too much meat for you? Poor baby....
Hit Snow’s. We can talk best bbq all day but Ms. Tootsie is a Texas Icon!
That was the only spot that didn't live to the hype. She is a treasure but wasn't in my top 5
Snows bbq was ok idk the wait was fun. Like 6
This place was good to me Terry's
@@dirksteiger653sammmme what's ur top five terry was really good me and hubby going back in Aug I think I wanna try more bbq spots
Yes!!!
Evie Mae's, Franklin's, cattleack, goldees, and interstellar. My co worker and I both tried to hit all the top and he said panther city was fire too.
Cattleack might be my #1. They do wagyu pastrami brisket and beef ribs, which makes it stand out.
Terry Black’s & Smitty’s barbecue in Lockhart each have” hands down” the best Bbq meal of your life!
Smitty's is sooooo good
Noted, will have to check them out!!!
Kreuitz bbq, almost across the street in Lockhart from Terry blacks and the brother of the lady that owns smittys.. it's also very good. Dint ask for bbq sauce in there though.
You can’t go wrong in Lockhart. We are partial to Smitty’s but Black’s and Kreuze’s are outstanding too. I’m from Georgia and I have had BBQ from all over but Texas BBQ has it going on.
Just stopped at Smittys today, not impressed with the brisket, was dry, maybe I hit them too late in the day. Their pork chop was amazing though. Terry Blacks is still my go to for brisket. Haven’t tried Barbs BQ there, they are always closed when I come through town.
I wish more British people would know that the bread is supposed to be used as napkins here in the states for BBQ and then you eat it 😂. Just like the brits used to use bread for knapkins in medieval times.
Josh and Jase in America to show you "food coma" for the first time. 😂😂😂
This video might have been followed up by a 2 hour nap!!
The way I love Jase’s food reviews because the truth is always written all over his face. He could not deny the greatness here and it showed in his praise and his face! Freaking love it!
Texas bbq is hands down the best bbq in the world. We don’t need sauces to enhance the flavor!! Great job guys!
I love Texas style BBQ as much as the next person, but other styles are just as good, and I'd say Korean BBQ is pretty dang close to being as good as anything here in the US (as long as they use charcoal at said BBQ lol). All that being said, Texas brisket and ribs, are top tier.
@@LordLOC Nothing is superior to Texas BBQ.
@@ThePositive0ne1 That's your opinion of course, but I've tried BBQ from all over the world and I can honestly say I've had just as great BBQ from other places in the US and from around the world.
There are quite a few places that are elite level, Franklin's, Goldee's, Snow's, Black's Original, Terry Black's, etc..but you will find one you slightly favor over the others in one way or another. YOU WILL NOT HAVE A BAD MEAL AT ANY OF THEM...there will be differences...but still top shelf all of them!
Well, you shouldn't go there and order fish or a burger. You can have a bad meal then (and you'd deserve it for ordering non BBQ things at a BBQ shack).
Good list, i would add Leroy and Lewis. Bacon rib and L&L Burgers...
yeah there is no "best bbq" in the US. Every major city in texas has a BBQ place on the same level.
@@nullakjg767 Every major city in the U.S. has good BBQ. Every major city in Mexico does, too. Same with Korea, and South Africa, and on and on. Actually, Id say BBQ in California is probably the best in the country🤷♀️
@@dpelpal nah thats def not true. at this point might as well keep lying and add the UK too.
Texas has the best bbq in America....I miss Texas. I used to live in fredericksburg for awhile
You’ll taste no better brisket than in Texas!!! My brother lived there for years and learned to cook it right and brought it back home to Arkansas and NO ONE can out smoke him on his Texas Brisket recipe!! SO SO GOOD!!!
The banana pudding looks just like what my southern grandmother used to make! Glad you guys are having fun!
I've heard Snow's BBQ is amazing! Ms.Tootsie is the pit master. They are open only on Saturday and open till they sell out. Have to show up super early, like before the sun early!!!
The best way to find the best BBQ, IS to just keep trying new places in every city/state you visit. If anything it will round out your trip-experiences
You have found the BEST! No one is better.
They’re are soooo many places that sell great bbq! It’s a way of life for Texans.
Hutchins BBQ in DFW! Specifically the Mckinney location.
SO good!
Yes!!! We live close by luckily and go often.
As someone who has tried both I can confirm the accuracy of this statement. Hutchins is the best bbq you will ever find.
That's what I'm saying! McKinney is definitely the way to go
Agreed! I have made trips to McKinney just to get dinner at Hutchin's! You can't argue with customer lines consistently snaking down the street.
Every Britt who is watching this needs to know that almost every few blocks have a BBQ restaurant
But they are nowhere near the same. Each is different in method and skill.
Watchin you two Brits pick up that Dino beef rib and bite it like Fred Flintstone brought joy to my heart and tears to my eyes. 😂😂😂
Texan born raised Dallas/ Ft Worth GOLDEES BBQ FT WORTH is rated @1 in Texas it's amazing!!!!
Will check it out!!
Goldie’s is legit and del toro in Mansfield is another great option
Our family prefers Blacks, Smittys, and Kreuz bbq . We tried Goldie’s and didn’t care for it at all. Guess we’re spoiled with the best.
Owned by Goldees is Ribbees...have to try both. Boty are amazing
i can't believe you haven't tried "burnt ends" yet? gotta have that.
It's good. But it's not the best. Terry Black's beef rib is better.
Franklin's in Austin but you need to get in line at 5am in order to get BBQ before it sells out. Especially on a Saturday.
I'd rather smoke my own than stand in line at 5am
Now to dance it off at the broken spoke ! It's a historic marker in austin tx. It's a country dance hall.
Y’all should have a food network show!
Can you believe that Terry Black’s had to go to court to defend themselves against residential neighbors who didn’t like smelling the smoke?? Crazy! I’d buy that smell for cologne if they put it in a bottle! 😂
I've been an Uber driver for 5 years in Austin.
I get split reviews from locals and tourists alike, some say Terry Black's, some say Franklin's is the best. A small percentage will name someone else like Salt Lick, Micklethwait, La Barbecue, Cooper's, the list is extensive.
The pursuit of a "best" sounds fun but of course you're chasing a rainbow.
BBQ is different all around the country with unique flavors depending on the region , enjoy the ride boys it will be a journey you'll never forget
Goldee's in Texas is most often considered #1 for Texas BBQ. Terry Black's is very very good too. Franklin's BBQ is top notch too. Damn it now I am salivating.
Texas is the only place for BBQ. However those sides don’t go with bbq that we eat in South Texas. We eat the meats with pinto beans Mexican rice potato salad onion slices with pickles and jalepenos and slices of bread. Sweet tea Perfect meal every time.
Love Terry Black’s. ❤ That brisket is the best I’ve ever had
Future reference the bread is not for sandwiching the meat, the bread is your napkins so when you kept saying my hands are covered you’re supposed to eat a little bread
I had the same thought.
They are the second british reactors i have seen that were blown away by creamed corn. Damn!!
Better is a relative term , they're all great in their own way.just try 3, or 4 places. You'll get what I'm saying. Hurry up before the hurricane Sunday.
You're already at the best! Just enjoy the rest of the bbq ride 🫦😆
We have a couple hundred BBQ places around Seattle, and every one of them serves BLAND BBQ. I long for the day Terry Blacks of Austin can start a chain BBQ here in Seattle.
I have been to that exact restaurant and I can without a doubt say that those reactions are truly genuine!
Get the Texas Monthly list of best in Texas.
Didn’t know what brisket was until I moved to Texas in 2004! I’m addicted now 😋😋😋
Need to come back in november for tx bbq festival in lockhart
One of my best friends moved from Texas to Arkansas. When he comes back to visit. He has one demand. First day reunion dinner at Terry Blacks. No questions asked! Amazing 😘👌🏻 it’s chefs kiss
I really like this because I think that like a lot of their videos show them telling us what they're about to do before they go into the restaurant and we don't get to actually see them do it (at least on TikTok) so this is great!
Bbq is the best! I mean, it is so good that ya'll don't even care about double dipping. 😅 Enjoy, Brits. Enjoy
I came from tiktok. Based on this video you're doing Texas right! Whoop!
Texas is world famous for their BBQ. Living here in the Dallas Fort Worth area all the rural country places in TX have now opened a 2nd restaurant here in the city. You have Terry Blacks, Hutchins, Coopers, Hard 8, Hurtado’s some of the best bbq restaurants in the world here. DFW is a great place to tour all the locations within a few miles.
Bbq capital of Texas, Lockhart. I am Texan, first time I ever visited Terry blacks was driving down to the coast. My boyfriend goes every year with his family and I got invited one year.
My expression was the same, and my family bbqs a lot. I've had bbq I thought was good
Nothing will ever compare to this experience and I was sad we didn't stop there this year and I was so sad 😂
Instead we had stopped at the Czech kolachie stop, and weren't hungry by the time we hit Lockhart
I don’t know why, but I keep watching every single Britts try barbecue in Texas video I come across it’s amazing that a country that tried to conquer the world over spices never figured out how to use them and I know everybody says that but it’s just so true and all I’ve got to say that’s right this is Texas, Flavor B!+c#
I love seeing Brits try excellent Southern barbecue. I love the Brits anyway…but it’s nice to share something like this…💛
Besides josh and ollie... This is the only other brits I can watch
Everyone has their own preference for BBQ and it varies by region. Lots of good BBQ all over but mostly in Texas for brisket. North Carolina for pork, and St. Louis for dry rub. Lots of people prefer Franklins to Terry Black's but there are many really great places. You didn't try burnt ends or the beans or peach cobbler! You missed out!
"That is quite possibly the best meat I've ever tried" *SMIRK* 😂😂😂
Luling City Market !!! Family favorite..so good
They held back tears while eating. Impressive!
Come to DFW, Hurtados, Dayne’s craft bbq, Goldie’s, Hutchins, Panther City Bbq, Heims Bbq……….and several more
Heims is our favorite in Ft Worth!! Worth the 2 hour drive!!
Josh!!!! With bread..on your 1st bite???? 😂😂😂wtheck "mate!"
I’m a Texan and I’m like, “where’s the bbq sauce”?!?? I refuse to go to a place that refuses to serve it!
Jase went full American making that little sandwich!
I will drive my
Mustang from Jersey to Texas for this
Dude has right idea w/ the sandwich, but - it's Brisket/cole slaw/ bread and a lil mustard if you're from NY.
Yes! He added the pickle 😋 not sure if all Texans eat pickles with their BBQ, but I know everyone in my family sure dose.
Jase did it right, just brisket no bread!!!
Franklin's BBQ is right down the road from Terry Blacks... it beats Terry Black in EVERY way. I live in Austin, you have to trust me on this.
Glad to see he picked that brisket up with his hands. The proper way to eat BBQ!
I am now looking at plane tickets to Austin just for Terry Blacks BBQ hahahaha
I love this! Looks so yummy and definitely made me hungry. You both are so entertaining to watch. Looking forward to more from you guys! 😁🫶🏻🥩
This is my favorite episode!! I love you guys!! That was such a pleasure watching you enjoy that delicious food. It was very well laid out with you all trying each one and rating them all individually. I didn’t want the video to end. I’m so glad you are making longer videos! Thank you for making my night! Ps: now I’m hungry 😂 God bless you both
I swear to god if he goes to Franklin’s and tries his first bite with bread, I’m gonna lose it. For me when it comes to Terry Black and Franklin’s it’s only really about what side I want because they both do them a little differently. The barbecue is always on point they taste a different, but then so do my briskets that I cook, depending on the day and the brisketand my ratios on wood, but as long as it’s juicy and barky and tender, that’s all that matters
The giant cups of tea are sending me 😂 y’all Brit’s love that tea huh
I'm just so happy to see brits go all hands in & not the knife & upside down fork. 😂😂 that's how ya do bbq!! ❤❤
The shredded meat is NOT brisket. It is pulled pork.
Josh trying to slink away from the sun at the end lol....
The #1 rated bbq spot in Texas (according to Texas Monthly Magazine) is Goldee’s BBQ in Ft. Worth, TX. It’s #1 for a reason. If you think Terry Black’s is next level, the Goldee’s BBQ is next WORLD.
Y'all need to come back to North Carolina, to my brother-in-law's house and try his barbecue! He makes the best ever! His wife usually does the seasoning, then he grills, smokes or deep-fries it. She makes the side dishes and dessert. You'll want to live in their neighborhood so you'll be invited to cookouts!
I like putting the cole slaw on top of the pulled pork on the bread.
The shredded bbq is pull pork. Also cream corn is the best & banana pudding is found at almost all bbq restaurants in Texas & our Mac n cheese we put bread crumbs and some bbq spice & they make BBQ Potatoes and those are top tier & in Texas we have so many BBQ restaurants each town has at least 3-4
Terry Blacks is good. If you want to try the best in Texas though, I would go to either Louie Mueller or Snow’s. Neither are very far from Austin.
I recall a few videos back when y’all halved a burger because you were watching your diet 😂 Austin is no place to worry about calories lol
The diets out the window, we're going all out on this Texas Tour!!
This is my son's favorite restaurant. Fun to see you guys experience it!
Guy on the right is the first Brit I've seen use the bread correctly. 😂
I think something that people don’t realize about turkey at barbecue joints is that it is basically deli turkey that has been smoked. It’s not an actual turkey breast they’re not shaped that way and when you get turkey from the deli, it has added moisture to it and it’s usually wet brined That doesn’t mean it doesn’t taste good that doesn’t mean it’s not moist and smoky and juicy and great. It just means you’re not getting something from the original bird. It has been processed just look at the shape it’s like what they slice at the deli counter, that is literally the trick or the secret or whatever you wanna call it, don’t get me wrong. I love it because of the smoky flavor. Just don’t think that they actually took a turkey breast and did that with it because it doesn’t come in that shape from nature.
Barb's BQ in Lockhart, TX. Came from Goldee's BBQ and started her own place. Her Molotov ribs are amazing. Brisket is better than any brisket you'll have. Texas Monthly magazine names the best bbq in Texas each month. They know what's up. If you want a high quality bbq with a cajun twist, check out Red Bird in Port Neches, TX.
Cooper's BBQ in Llano Texas is hands down my favorite. Texas born and raised.
Head to Lockhart, TX it’s the BBQ capital of Texas and only about 30 minutes from Austin!
So many exceptional places in Texas. Terry Black’s is great. I make my own these days, but it is nice having ten great places within an hours drive.
Pecan Lodge in Dallas is excellent. Also Naamans BBQ in Texarkana (technically on the Arkansas side, but the state line goes right down the center of town).
Glad you lads enjoyed. You’re always welcome to come and taste a bit of the States.
Yes. You peeked too early. Terry Black’s is the best. Try Cooper’s on Congress next. They’re close to Terry Black’s.
So glad y’all loved it!!!
A little too late for me to post, but there's a small town called Llano in Texas. And they are in the top 20 best barbecue spot to go. They're not on top, but they're always consistent.
I can bbq for you guys! It’s not just bbq it’s part of our lives. Just bbq’d yesterday some Waygu beef ribs!! 🫶🏽🫶🏽
If you guys are down for some more food trucks, go to a place called Tejas Birria. Mexican cuisine done amazingly well. They specialize in everything birria. I would recommend the Birria tacos and also their Birria Quesadilla. You wont be disappointed. They have 3 locations. 1 in austin, buda, and San antonio. I can 100% guarantee you havent had mexican food that good. If im wrong, send me the bill and i'll pay for it
Love you guys and keep up the amazing videos
I inject my turkey with melted butter because I’m not taking any chances😂 if you have a cardiologist you can't come to my cookout😂😂😂
I live in Austin, and I love Blacks! I also love Interstellar a bit more. But Terry Blacks is for sure amazing.
Also there is a trailer in San Antonio that serves those beef ribs inside a burrito with mac and cheese inside you guys would definitely love it peace and taco grease my friends
Yes, sir, and it's called bussin' Q. Great spot!
Terry’s is amazing, I’m sad that it’s over an hour from me but I make the drive when I want BBQ. Texas BBQ will always be the best BBQ.
Next time you go to a Texas BBQ place, ask for brisket burnt ends. Yum.
Guess Family BBQ in Waco has been my favorite. I’ve done the whole 50 best list in Texas Monthly magazine and for me they beat everything else.
