- Today marked the last shift for FDNY Dispatcher 150.
He retired after 25 years of dedicated service to New York City.
It was a tough day for sure.
This clip was pieced together with audio from www.Openmhz.com
I also added some of my FDNY photos from over the years so you're not looking at a blank screen for the better part of 18 minutes.
It doesn't get any classier than this. I love listening to these calls.
So until today I didn’t know dispatcher 150 was a gentleman by the name of Jimmy. What I did know ,that when he was working ,I was listening to the best Fire Dispatcher I have ever heard!! Thank you Sir for being the best. 🇺🇸🍀🇺🇸
Love how even after signing off he was in control making sure units didn’t step on each other. Absolutely fantastic
I am a retired firefighter captain from a fire department in the Houston, TX area, I want to say I have listened to you many times dispatching major fires for FDNY, and will say there is nothing like having a dispatcher as you on the end of central comms!!! I didn't know you personally, but feel I almost do. Congratulations on retirement and that you will have many blessed and prosperous years ahead!!!
Well said Al. I’m in the D up in Michigan. They’re invaluable
Class Act Dispatch 150. What a sign off. Got teary eyed.
Thanks
Jimmy has been a staple of daily life for anyone who follows the fdny or the guys who work there. amazing dispatcher and a stand up guy. Wishing him a long, relaxing and happy retirement.
On his last day he had such a horrific call he handled it with calmness and professionalism. He will be missed by not only the members but everyone who has listened to him as one of many voices of the Bronx. He showing love to the buffs amazing thing to do!
As a dispatcher I used to listen to as a kid, not realizing just who I was listening to, thank you for your 25 years. Takes a hell of a person to take the stress of managing a big city system, people talking to/yelling at you yet still managing to come in day after day and do it all again. I hope you enjoy retirement because you damn well deserve it.
Kira he was cool as a cucumber even when shit was hitting the fan. He had a nack of knowing what the chief’s and companies needed before they even asked for it. He’s also a firefighter which helps a lot. I’m a Firefighter in Michigan and would have loved to have a guy like him on the mic. My hope for FDNY is the people replacing these greats will live the job like Jimmy not just do the job
Thanks. As of right now I'm enjoying every minute
Congratulations on your 25 years’ from a retired (26.5 years) Fire /EMS / Police dispatcher . Hope you enjoy every minute of it!!

Yes, he was
@@jimmyr2713 thank you Jimmy, I was a 1st grader and I still remember it.
@@jimmyr2713 congratulations from Texas! Retired Police Sergeant who started out as a Police/Fire Dispatcher. Well done sir.
Thanks for your service Jimmy, all the city of new york are proud of you.
Happy retirement chief.
25 years and done so probably say late 40s. If he married a younger woman say mid 30s your talking 40 50 years of pension the taxpayer has to burden. No way in the state of the country these pensions will be sustainable.
Hey blaze 2019…..you must be a real “JERK-OFF” why don’t you try working straight/doubles/triples days/nights/holidays. When your home in your pajamas on Xmas morning opening presents. Many of us were working. Nobody owes you an explanation, I did 40 years and hopefully I’ll collect for 40 more, if not my wife earned it putting up with my not being home!!! Get a life.
Hopefully you never use your social security checks with that attitude. Those dispatchers in nyc are some of the hardest working and most dedicated members in the entire service. Youll never even come within a tenth of those guys.
That's why I'm not married and just got a job for pocket cash and Gas money.
All he did sit around and really do nothing, that’s what all of them do.
You would be surprised the amount of stress as big a city as NYC dispatchers have to undergo. Especially working through 9/11 and continuing to work 20 years after that. Just because it seems easy to *you* doesnt mean it is easy. Its a different ball game at that center.
Seriously?! Dude you have no idea what youre talking about at ALL
I'm not feeding the troll
