"Abolish is an instant speed Naturalize" So, it's Disenchant for one more mana or a pitch. Even the same color. Also, "instant speed Naturalize" is a weird phrasing when Naturalize and Disenchant are both already instant speed.
I love how these all have the same gimmick but are all equally made, the costs and the effects match power levels with each other. R&D back then was surprisingly good
No. It does. The defender would just choose not to block. But you are right, in the sense, that if it was cast after blockers are declared, trample damage would still function as normal.
No, it just prevents damage from any creature that wasn’t blocked. So you could declare no blockers and take no damage, or only block the creatures you want to kill and take no damage from the bigger ones.
Abolish is my favorite and I use it. Foil is cool too. The green one is probably the next most likely for me to use. The other two are fine if you can just use them as discard fodder for when they'll be useless
Ironically, Snag is bad in my mono green turbofog. Well, maybe not bad, but worse than id like, bc the deck is a Questing Beast led deck that wants to fog opponents since QB says my creatures cant have their damage prevented
It isn't one of the best free counter spells, but it is one of the more affordable. Hold it til someone tries to cast a game ending spell or spell that cuts your deck off. Don't pitch to cast this if you're winning. Hold it until something forces you to play this one.
it's not great today, but you need to understand that half of the blue spells in _Masques_ block could be cast by returning Islands back to the hand. including the still-played-in-Legacy Daze and draw-2 Gush. Blue Skies was a powerhouse deck of the time just because it didn't need to spend a lot of mana to protect its shockingly efficient air force.
@@nicholasfarrell5981 that takes me back...Blue Skies was quite possibly the last budget deck that could take down an actual tournament - before mtg was all about that money money
@Rabid_Wombat I used to have a lot of fun with MachineHead at the time, maybe I just got lucky but I didn't really spend much to build the deck. Without Port though, I could never find any 😞
Foil is amazing, because it's the only free counter spell that allow you to discard instead of exile. It does work in madness decks

Yeah, I was coming to say this. Also who uses naturalize? Disenchant is much more known.
Im gonna start running Snag in green decks just so i can look my opponents in the eye and say, "Unfortunately for you, you've just hit a SNAG!"

Anyone who has used Oracle tags on Scryfall is way more aware of abolish than they ever want to be.
So sad that there's no name for white removal that destroys artifacts and enchantments. Guess we'll just have to use the green name for it instead.
Disenchant, right?
So, snag is a fog that does not work against trample damage?
No. It does. The defender would just choose not to block. But you are right, in the sense, that if it was cast after blockers are declared, trample damage would still function as normal.

@poutinemcflurry3544 That's what they said
I'm a big fan of Abolish. Opponents don't think you have a way to destroy their thing because you're tapped out, but you do 😏

Well uh I knew about foil so 20% credit
The art in prophecy was so good
Honestly Outbreak seems like a good card to sideboard in black decks for when you run into token decks
I have a foil "foil" in my main blue decks. I love the extra flavor
Crazy how Foil makes you 3-for-1 yourself, but the rest just pitch a land
Discarding just a land to counter a spell would be broken, literally just a better force of will. So yes it needs more cost
Ironically, Snag is bad in my mono green turbofog. Well, maybe not bad, but worse than id like, bc the deck is a Questing Beast led deck that wants to fog opponents since QB says my creatures cant have their damage prevented
I know about foil because it's legal in pauper.
Flameshot used to be pretty alright in Pauper.
Isn't Flameshot not legal in Pauper?
@@skallos_ in my mind I was thinking of Fireblast, which has you sack two lands to deal 4. Been a long time since I played.
I remember playing some of these in standard and extended. Gush is very silly.
Yes. I use Abolish often.
Manaless isn't necessarily free
Snag and foil are the only good ones. Abolish is okay
Buddy. Gen alpha doesnt play magic. You can slow down on the after effects.
But I heard Foil is awful

Yeah, it sucks fr BUT if it stops your opponent from comboing out then it can be game winning 🎉

People ask if I'm playing with legal cards, I'm like "yeah, they all over 18"
Only scrubs that play 5 color koala without interaction don't know about this shit
