Oh, poor Phoebe! So sorry to hear, she is in pain! I once had a piggy with bladder problems (not a stone, but mud in the bladder) and my vet recommended ascorbic acid in addition to the treatment. You can put a bit of this powder over the veggies (cucumber) and it helps to dilute the mud or the stones (which usually consist of calcium) in the bladder. You can give ascorbic acid forever, if you want to - also to the rest of the herd, because it also is nothing but some extra Vitamin C, which will not do any harm at all. Very best wishes to little Phoebe!🙏
EARLY!! Heyy Sarah (and the person reading this) 🤗 I'm in a really desperate situation. My guineapigs have always escaped when housed outside and we live in a town/city area where there are glass bottles being smashed and ambulances and cars, foxes, stray cats, dogs barking etc. My dad built them a tiny "hutch" which I am very against hutches, it's extremely dangerous for them outside especially where we are and as summer is coming up, there'll be ever more noise and music. Flysrike is also another thing that can be fatal to guineapigs, and there are quite a few flies outside at the moment. My last guineapig passed due to all of this. I am never allowing that to happen to anyone else, they are basically my only friends and I can't loose them. One of them always escapes whenever he's outside. I've brought a huge playpen/c&c grids for them inside and made fleece liners for them which they love 💕 i can easily cuddle them and check up on them more often inside. Now the worse bit. My dad says if they aren't going outside in the summer then he's going to give them away to someone else, it's been really difficult lately trying to defend them and educate him about living and housing. I really need help with this situation, does anyone know what I can do? Sending love 💗💕💗
Oh gosh that sounds like a really awful situation. I was in a similar position to this once but nit nearly as bad. For me my dad wanted them outside but for us it wasn't dangerous and they didn't escape. To solve my problem I tried to find out why my dad was so against them being inside. He said because if the dirt and mess and smell etc. I had 1 week to prove that it would work with them being inside and not smelling. Perhaps if you could find out why he wants them to be outside that might work? I hope this helps and that you are able to come to a solution! ❤
Thank you so much! 💕 I've tried to do that a few years ago. But he says they're in the way of people and that they'll be happier outside with the grass. I'll try and ask again and obviously I can cut some grass with scissors and bring that inside, thanks for getting back 💗
Oh and also whenever I try to bring up the idea of them inside, and show him proof on Google about how easily they can get heart attacks and other stuff, he gets more mad and says "well they are going away then." Or "It's better for them outside" And just shakes his head. The only other thing that I can see of doing is having them in my bedroom, because then they aren't "in the way of people" But is it hygienic for them to be in there? 💕
My pigs are in my bedroom and i dont really notice any smells anymore since i deep clean them each week and spot clean throughout the week ❤ You could try saying that if they are in your room then they can be your responsibility and that you will take care of them ❤
@@TechnicallyARoseOkay💕 Thank you! I'm gonna try that and mix with the other idea of having them inside for a week on trial, I can give you guys an update if you like 💗🥰
Glad to hear Phoebe is doing better. This video was a great cheer up for me. Thanks! I lost Mia this week to an ovarian tumor. She was too old for surgery so I made her comfortable for as long as was reasonable. She passed at 7 1/2 years. I'll miss her kisses she gave me every day.
So happy Phoebe is doing well. Hopefully she'll be back to get feisty self soon. Love you're Phoebe and all the piggies! Thank you for sharing them with us!🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️
I’m so glad to hear that Phoebe is feeling better and on the road to recovery. Every time their Hay Pigs box shows up must feel like “Pigmas” for them. Giggled when it was little Callie was the one who ran off with the nibble leaf! Small, but stealth.❤
My Benji piggie does not like any of the nibblys no matter what flavour and also my dwarf hamster doesnt like them either. He also doesnt touch any type of compressed hay. What a fusspot!!
When I was about to get my baby guinea pigs, I searched amazing guinea pig channels, and it came up with yours! I have been watching your channel for ages, I have followed your tips and they have all worked! I'm only 11 years old, and all I can think about in class and in between periods is how much I am dying to know how Nacho, Phoebe, Callie, and Roxy are doing! Nacho is my favorite, he is playful and so fluffy! My piggies have become more tame and less skittish because of your amazing tips! I get so excited when a new video comes out! You are my favorite channel! I adore pigmas, my favorite thing to watch. I love your cage setup, my piggies live in a hutch. But when there is a storm or just a little bit of rain, I can't help feeling worried for them. Can I PLEASE have a shout-out? I love you and your piggies! Keep well!
Hi Sarah, What a lovely Haypigs box! Hope the piggies enjoy it. Glad Phoebe is doing well. I just loved Callie popcorning in the bed!! Utterly adorable 🥰 xx
I am glad Phoebe is doing better and have always enjoyed your herd who are so fun to watch! I wanted you to know that I have recently bonded my Harriet ,a skinny pig with a rescue skinny pig who was from a rescue. From the piggie community, I got much support in this journey, I wish I could from you. You have a lot to offer, but I felt ignored by your community and I got much support from someone you admire Sarah, Saskia. You never know how you influence. This was a fun video by the way, thank you for sharing!
@@SqueakDreams Oh Sarah, I just felt that as a solo owner, i was prejudiced. My story with Harriet as a pet store piggie was a long journey to getting her bonded and her and Clementime are like sisters. Maybe I was over sensitive, I will come back and subscribe, o-k!?
Hi Sarah glad phoebe is doing well sorry late with a comment had a hang over was at birthday party Saturday afternoon then out with family later on don.t see who birthday it was that much or family so really hard to cancel. Great video they always put a smile on my face 😀
Hi. I am so glad to hear that Oheobe is feeling better. That must be a relief! I have had a really flipped day today. I came to clean my guinea pigs as normal on a daily basis and one of my 5 year old boars had a suoer cloudy blue red swollen eye. He has pea eye anyway but I still took him to the vet. My oarents wint let us go to an exotic vet though. We went and he has an ulcer in his eye. He needs 3 medications! Pain killers, eye cream, and cornear repair drops. And he has to go back for another checkup on Wednesday. My only issue is that on one of the medications, it says on the sticker give TWICE daily. But the vet said give ONCE daily. What should I do about this? Give it once or twice daily? Also Im just suoer scared because I have already lost one piggie due to an eye infection and ear infection.
I’m going to try trim my long haired piggie in a min as she is soaking up her pee etc and she wasnt done by her previous owner so she’s matted (I got her a week ago) I’m so nervous to do it x
If it's just one eye it could be injured, I recommend taking them to the vet. If both eyes it could be a health issue - again exotics vets recommended 😊
Hey Sarah, I’ve been reasearching Guinea pigs for while and I just got some! Thank you so much for helping find my passion about Guinea pigs. Both my piggies are name nacho just like yours and cheese. Also I’m using fleece for bedding should I put to layers of it or just pee pads.
Congrats on getting piggies! I like to use a liner and pee pads in the hot spots like under hideys etc. I did a video not too long ago on using fleece in the cage which might be helpful for you 😊
What do you spray the litter tray with to disinfect it but also keep it safe for the piggies? I just rescued two piggies so I’m new to this, but they love to be in their litter tray with their hay and use the bathroom A LOT in there! So I want to clean it right but not cause any harm to the boys. Thanks!
I use diluted F10 solution (linked in my amazon storefront) which is safe for pets and is a great disinfectant which also kills fungal spores. Some people prefer t use white vinegar which is also safe for our piggies 😊
Hi Sarah. Question. How do you clean your piggies cage without gloves? Yuck!! I always wear surgical gloves when I clean my piggies cag then wash my hands very well

Hi! I wanted to know what cage you use for your guinea pigs :3
how old is old for guinea pigs

Hi Sarah! Where is the grey liner from that you put the piggies on in the free-roam area?
It is one from Paw Inspired 😊
Hey I introduced pellets to my guinea pigs but they are not eating pellets . What should I do?
I have a question one if my guniea pigs have a cloudy eye its kinda white and I do not know what to do about it. do you know something to help it?😅
If it's just one eye it could be injured, I recommend taking them to the vet. If both eyes it could be a health issue - again exotics vets recommended 😊

Piggie pee and poop is pretty harmless and doesn't bother me 😊
Hi everyone, I have been doing a lot of research and trying to find ikea furniture for a DIY cage, I was wondering if 21”x56” cage is ok for two male piggies? Would 30”x46” be better?
First option is 8.1 square feet, bit on the small side - second is 9.6 square feet. Recommended for two piggies its 10.5 square feet 😊

Awh sorry - a big tractor came in the field next to the garden and ended the fun! I'll be sure to include extra footage next time 😊
Do you clean their cage every day ?
I clean mine every other day!
Not gonna lie my Guinea pigs r sooo spoilt that all they do is relax all day long
Hiii
I see your pig cage is pretty cluttered with hides and toys. Is that cuz they are older and don’t run around as much?
I change it up - sometimes it is more empty, the sisters and Nacho don't usually run laps, but Callie does, even when there's obstacles! 😅
