Impact Dehomogenization in MultiMech for Abaqus

This video is an example of the "Dehomogenization" feature in MultiMech for Abaqus. The model here represents a sphere impacting a car bumper, using Abaqus Explicit. Using a chopped fiber microstructure, an element of interest from the global model is chosen and the strain history of that element is applied to the microstructure. This allows for the user to observe forms of microdamage within the microstructure and the resulting stiffness reduction of the composite at that specific location in the global model.
