    Well, here in Czech Republic, they are something like a dog, everyone has them and it goes from father to son. We are very proud of it, because you can really fix it on the knee and it is really reliable. Ive got some videos uploaded, check it out.

    Well never thought I would see a Zetor on here
    On the potato farm I grew up on these were our main tractors and they were 100% reliable des[ite what the haters would have you think
    We never had any fuel leak problems ever but on the tractors we owned the fuel tanks were mounted in front of the steering wheel
    All of ours had centrifuge type oil filters and oil bath air cleaners
    They were the only tractor to come standard with creeper gears, ideal for rotary hoe use
    All of the tractors had forklift masts mounted on the front for potato work and no tractors ever broke in half
    Dad always told me the air compressor was for European use were they tow a lot of big trailers with air brakes
    Dads were the series before these 6945's
    I am stunned at some of the topics you cover Rich, as usual great work

    I used to work at Zetor tractors in Port Melbourne, Australia in the early 80's. I haven't seen one in years.

    I didn''t expect to see a zetor overseas, nice. It doesn't have a great reputation in the Netherlands either, except for people who actually drive a zetor, they are generally very positive about it. Zetor tractors are used most often besides the main tractor(s) over here.The bad rep has probably to do with the country of origin and cheap price, but the price/quality is great in my opinion.

    This I the tractor I learned on from a young age and a 1972 1020 Deere. The Zetor had the Great Bend loader and for 60 horses would pull more than it's fair share. Mainly on a 3 tonne hydro assist lift plow/cultivator with our custom telephone poles for field leveling. Used the Deere and a 6 row Massey planter with fertilizer hopper.

    Very simple and heavy built tractors. I have used 3 in my life. 1 7745 was traded to a kubota of similar size because of tax reasons. 1 7745 engine was overhauled twice in 2600 hours. Blew head gasket on #4 and scored the liner and piston horribly, both times it was being used to pull a 3 bottom mold board plow. I helped overhaul it the second time and noticed the bolt on balance weights on the crankshaft were coming loose. After tightening the weights and putting it back together, said tractor was traded in on a kubota of similar size. Said kubota now has close to 9000 hours doing the same work. Last a 5211, has been a excellent tractor for it's owner. It plowed disced mowed lawns and bushoged for 25 years on his 6 acre lot and has never let him down. But it has now 2135 hours on it.

    New Zetors are in the States now. They sell below the number that requires them to have all the emissions garbage on them. For now, you can still get one that’s as simple of a design as they come. I’m sure their QC is far better since the fall of Soviet Russia.

    I’ve had two Zetors, an 8245 and an 8040. Solid and heavy tractors, but it’s a shame that they haven’t improved on the fuel system and the master cylinders.

    I'm a big fan of zetor tractors we had a David Brown 50 horse and a zetor 50 horse and the zetor was much more robust ,versatile & serviceable and cheap to repair if it ever needed which was rare . The poor old David Brown wasn't bad but wasn't as easy to drive on the road with the gear stick between your knees compared to the zetor 4 speed column shift, and the zetor air pump is brilliant.

    I've had my zetor 7211 for 20 years. Allied loader. 2wd. Yep lotta haters out there. I don't give a dam where something was built. The bottom line is,is it good? Are maintenance costs low? Is it reliable? This beast gets the job done. Very high ground clearance . Tons of torque. And for a big tractor,she sips fuel.wish I knew rich when I went through transmission lock up and slave cylinder issues. Lol.

    Actually Zetor, Belarus and Ursus all had air compressors on them. Here in Europe we call them Eastern block tractors.

    You can get 10 PTO speeds if you have lever for 2 speed PTO on your Zetor, it should be located behind low/high/neutral lever. You simply put low/high/neutral lever in netral position, then you put PTO lever in ground speed mode and that's it, you have 5 more PTO "slow" and 5 more "fast" speeds that you select via long gear lever. Only problem is that you are not able to move, this option is only available if you remain stationary. It is widely used powering pumps, field generators, log saws etc...Some of PTO gears you get this way are extremely slow and some are extremely fast and you also get 2 reverse PTO speeds. Not all Zetors have that option, i am only certain about some UR1 and UR2 models with 2 speed PTO. I own 7045 and he has ti.

    I recently got a 7745, pretty much same setup controls wise, decent tractor, runs strong even though it’s been thoroughly abused it’s whole life, only problem I have with it is that damn shuttle shift, forward it’s perfectly fine, but it loves to jump out of reverse, other than that great tractor

  • @mihaelhorvatek8826
    @mihaelhorvatek8826 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I believe you can put range shifter in neutral and put gearbox in reverse with pto so it can turn backwards

    It's funny that you always seem to hear about how Zetor tractors have a bad reputation, and yet you never seem hear a bad word about them from anyone who's actually owned one. On the contrary, people who have actually owned one or used one extensively tend to say that they are very reliable rugged tractors and that you get a lot of tractor for your money when you buy one.

    The reasons for Zetor's bad name comes from the past, like Skoda's, i know a farmer in the sixties who bought one and it ended up in pieces, in wrecking yards there were a few Zetors with broken rear ends, they had a bad name with farmers in Australia, now days its a different story, Skoda's are a very nice extremely well made car as i have one, now days anything made in CZ is high quality, the small Bobcat excavators the are made in CZ.

    ive heard bout those master pump issues on them but the one I have her a 6045 from 1980 have never had master issues.

  • @enednas801
    @enednas801 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Here in Norway zetors are everywhere. I have a 6045 1980model with cab it have run 6500hrs but those zetors hours run slower compared to most other tractors so it got ca 10000 regular hours on it. engine starts and runs nicely still. it kicked out a pushrod once and only ran on 3 of 4 cylinders due to the valves had never been adjusted xD. the rod got bent so I bought a new one and adjusted them all. drum brakes have been replaced once and slaves. on slave was stuck for 20 years so only had left brake xD. last few years when i run it in 2wd only something slips in the drivetrain,I suspect worn,cracked tooth on pinion,crown wheel cos with front wheels 4x4 drive it never slips so the high,low and 5 main gears seem to be fine. im letting it run as long as it wants to.if the final drive gives out entirely its easy to trouble shoot then ;) I have a case 685 as a replacement if the zetor kicks the bucket. btw ,russian tractor Belarus also has air compressor. I once tried a zetor with the full air assisted brake system . damn good brakes!!

    Thanks that video was a little helpful, I have a 6310 at my new job I’m trying to get running so I can use it. My only issue is the people who used it before me were convinced it had a electrical issue on it and something was draining the battery, my assumption was they forgot to pull the key out. My main issue is that there are certain plugs that are unplugged and whatnot and overall it’s just a mess inside and I have no clue where to start, sometimes when I hook power to it the fuel gauge works, but the starter will not engage at all, and other times the fuel gauge doesn’t work, the fuel gauge is the only indication that is showing me I have some power to the ignition. It also appears I’m not getting power to the starter solenoid, so I really gotta dive into this thing but seeing a video of how it works when everything internally is good is helpful so hopefully I’ll be able to figure this thing out 😂

      The ignition switch is the place to start. It gets wet and acts up as some contacts stop working. Test light and a camera is your friend. make sure you know where each wire came from.

    those tracktors were made to pull the same trailers as the trucks/lorries...also thats why there is an air compressor.

  • @enednas801
    @enednas801 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the zetors originally comes with air brakes and thats a helluva better effect than the un aired ones. i driven both. the black rubber on the dash with the gauges is where the air pressure meter goes. on the new ones they come with air brakes into scandinavia also.the old ones have only been sold here with the brakes fluid slaves and masters. the older ones had dry drum brakes with shoes inside and handbrake on the outer part of the drum clamping down. the newer models as this one have the dry disc brakes with the slaves mounted on the outside as seen on the video. gear oil could sometimes leak out along the drive spline cos of old shrunk rubber seals and spill out on the brakes discs and make them loose a lot of effect.
    I have a 1980 6045 with a cab,it got 6500 hours on it but the hour meter does not count the regular way,it counts slower so its more along the lines of 10.000+ hours now. its been a workhorse and some issues but no wonder,its been through the ringer. its the low hp output engine with 3,5 litres and 58 hp. thats surely a matter of adjusting the fuel delivery on the pump cos horses are heavily taxed atleast her in norway on vehicles. id guess i could get it to ca 65-70 with some adjusting but with its hours its better to leavi it be i guess. it could be turboed also. they did turbo the 7745 with 3,9 litres engine but the block cracked from time to time cos of the stress. the 6045s 3,5 litre engine and shorter crank would stand a 1bar of boost id reckon.would be fun to put one but its got all these hours again ;)

      No electric pump.
      5xxx series had 3 cylinders in old times like 5120 5200 5245 is 4wd and 4 cyl
      great tractors best for harsh winter in Norway start in -45c use litlle fuel great tractions best reduktors and power.
      military muncipality and road services use them.

      Miki there are shit end off I have John deeres there are by far why better than a zetor. I spent long enof fixing them around here to know how bad they actually are!! Deers and new hollands is wat the contractors use here. They give trouble but ever tractor does! And u expect them to wit the work they do! A few farmers here have zetor and they give tons of trouble and do no hard work atall!! The 10 series John Deere are built proof! They are unbelievable on the pto and pulling!! And the Deere is the best loader tractor. A 2003 6320 owed by a contractor from new and fitted wit a loader in 05 done 27000 hours and got unbelievable abuse! Done the fuel pump and head! That's it in 3 turns of the clock!

      Ewen nato uses them in military service.

      DEBOSS GARAGE did the back end give any trouble they all do here in Ireland! From breaks to halfshafts they are poorly built and the new ones use extremely cheap parts! Ya I could buy two new zetors for the price of one second hand Deere! The Deere here and in the U.K. Have great second hand value that says something!if u had to drive it everyday all day for different type of work I think u would rather a Deere wit a shuttle.great vids by the way and I really admire u as u are a great all rounder! I am a mechanic aswell and also run excavators and other types of equipment on our farm and for others! We find Germen made is always high Quality! But run Japanese diggers a Hitachi and Takeuchi both unbelievable reliable diggers. I do a lot of work on tractors and farm and construction equipment. Not a lot on cars but I do a lot on 4x4 mostly Landcruiser
