    Here's a tip if you want to fake volume. With the flower mesh, if you layer multiple copies ontop with a very small space between them. it will give a fake volume effect. I played with this idea a long time ago, using a rendering software. Too bad I can't give links to demonstrate here.

    Quick question: Im just getting started with unreal. Is this video still vigent or has the program changed too much in the past year?
    Also, will this video teach me the baby steps on how to start doing vfx if you know 0 about it?
    Been looking for a good starting point that teaches me the very ABCs of the craft.
    Thanks in advance!

      The fundamentals don’t change. There may have been some UI changes and nodes may have been renamed but nothing to drastic.
      Give it a try!

    I like niagara and this is a great tutorial; but I am surprised you haven't had a single crash. I read that 5.3 is quite unstable, crashing all the time. I use 5.2.1 and it's unstable as well, either by random, error, or when I use the curve asset editor (it sux). I wish Epic would just stop adding features and focus more on bug fixing and stability, and get thier beta plugins updated.

    Instead of using events, isn't there a way to start the flower emitter at a certain point in time? That would be much easier than messing around with events. The ball ends at 1.36, the flower starts at 1.36. If niagara doesn't allow this, then that is kind of stupid IMO. Edit: I see that it does have a set time, but as a loop delay which confused me. In my mind, a loop delay is the delay between loops, not before them, as is in niagara.

    It's so weird. when I make the new simple burst and add a Sprite facing and alignment in particle spawn, the particle still face my camera. Don't know how to fix it.

    • @LiMaking

      Rx 6800 , 2x 32g ram, ryzen 3900x ( i would prefer a better cpu then that , but it is the one i have atm and it runs very good, but it is quite outdated i think any of the new gen 5 and 7 series would be more then enough )
      I have this and niagara runs perfectly fine, and i can create massive worlds and model tons of huge assets inside unreal engine 5.3 with no issues at all.

    • @Enryo_tv
      @Enryo_tv ปีที่แล้ว

      Also if anyone mentions to you, to get only ssd for ur whole pc spec it is a waste of money, just get a big enough ssd to use as main drive from windows and small applications.
      Buy a hdd with lots of bytes to have anything else on. ( saves u alot of money ) this is if you are planning on creating huuuge games , build a library of assets etc...
      But if for just starting and a small game , and learn other stuff. Just get a 1 terabyte hdd it will be more then enough.
