Billy... Your video is excellent, but I'm having some issues with the condenser/drier mounting. Its not quite lining up as nicely as you showed, specifically, the two bottom brackets... they seem to be tilting the unit too close to the core support at the bottom, but the top looks ok. Almost 1/2" difference if not more top to bottom, and I don't think I can get a fitting in there. Also, you never noted that the caps should not be removed from the condenser itself until your ready to charge the system because it's shipped under pressure to protect the inside. Is that critical?

Mike, would it be possible for you to send us some pictures of the condenser mounting (concerned areas) to tech@vintageair.com here they will review your kit and install and come up with some ideas to what could be going on.you can remove the caps from the condenser really at any point, the critical component that needs to remain capped until the charge process is the drier. if you opened and exposed the drier to the elements you would need to charge the system immediately after that.

Just wondering what are you lubricating the O ring with? Is it PAG oil?

Its a specific o-ring lube, but PAG will also work just make sure to only use a thin film and not swimming in the oil.

I have been told for a 68 Camaro the right fender has to be removed for a Vintage Air system to be installed, is this correct?

    • @va197653

That is correct, with the path of the new hoses removing the pass side fender, skirt &wheel for the AC install will be needed.

Can this sure fit system be used as a replacement to a factory condenser without the need to make hard lines or mods to the core support.

This will be problematic, the OEM lines/ports will be different then what we provide. Its best to acquire a complete kit (evap, condenser, lines and the correct hoses)so there are no surprises when it comes time to install.

@@va197653 Thanks for the reply. Do you recommend a condenser fan for this system? I live in Texas and it can stay over 100 degrees for weeks.

@@rodcleve generally a heavy duty primary cooling fan will work for engine and AC purposes, i would reach out to our sales team at 210-654-7171 or sales@vintageair.com and they will help select a cooling fan that will fit your needs.
