- Oprah Winfrey’s two-hour interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a lot of waves when it aired on March 7, 2021.
One of the most shocking moments in the sit-down happened when Markle discussed why the royal family decided not to make her son Archie a prince, which meant he would not receive security detail. When Oprah asked if the royal family had mixed feelings about Archie because of his race, Markle confirmed this, saying that one person had asked questions about what color his skin would be.

Oprah Winfrey had plenty of time and opportunity to check out megan's story before airing it. Her responses were not innocently given. They were telling. She pushed this story so obvious.
Remember the time you wouldn't miss an Oprah show for anything! We have 5 mixed kids - and even to this day, we will talk about skin colour as they are all different shades. There is not an inch of "racism" in this for us, it is simply that our kids range from light to dark and as a family we talk about it in the same way as being taller, shorter or having straight, curly hair etc. To us these are gifts not bad things. All parents and relatives wonder what newborn children are going to look like .
she and harry both said that it was concerns and conversations from a PR standpoint. The fact that they said concerns separates this from your experience. im not saying who is right or wrong as this was the same family that welcomed her and prince Charles walked her down the aisle when her own father and family did not come. but there was no doubt the press was going after her, and there was significant bad press, it was so bad that no less than 70 members of parliament called it out, the royal family at the very least could have put out a statement of support. Both harry and Meghan seemed to be in a bad mental health state honestly its their wish if they choose to live with the family or separate, so i don't see the big deal. if they feel unsupported and miserable in the UK then its there wish to move out and do what they want in their life.

I wanted to believe that Harry’s wife becoming part of the royal family was going to be good. And for a time I did. It it’s their actions that count. Look at pics of Harry before His wife & then after. Take note of how neither one has any contact with their families or how they treat them. Diana must be turning over in her grave.

I've never felt either way about Oprah but now i think she is trash.
My brother and I are mixed and we both have white partners. When my brothers girlfriend was pregnant we all talked about how dark their kid could be and my husband and I talked about how dark our kids skin could be. There was no racism involved it's just a normal conversation when you are a mixed couple and choose to have kids.

The future monarch's (That being Charles previously) oldest son's (William) children only have titles, such as prince and princess. If Charles had other children other than Harry, their children would not have royal titles either. However, following the death of the queen, Charles has now become king. And as all children and grandchildren of a monarch have titles, Lillibet and Archie will now be given the titles of 'prince and princess'

However, there is precedent among Queen E grandchildren, where four out of eight of them are not titled Prince or Princess. In that sense it is not a rule applied automatically, but a gift bestowed by the ruling monarch to her or his grandchildren.
K.Charles III will have to issue something called letters patent (not sure of the exact phrase) to make Archie and Lilibet prince and princess, should he chose to make them such.
@@krebzz3166 It is actually applied automatically, however if the child's parents are not willing for him or her to have a title, they can remove it, as was the case with Anne and Edward's children. Similarly if the monarch wishes, he or she has the full right to not grant titles according to their will.

The father an I discussed that our children would look very much like their cousins who were of the same mix of nationalities. My mum and my dad have different skin colours. My sister was born with my dad's brown skin colour so when my mum was pregnant with me everyone joked around that they hoped I'd have my mum's very pale skintone because my family thought it would be "funny" if the two sisters had two different skin colours and to this day my parents like to tell that story, of course they could twist it and say that my family said they wanted me to be white, it would sound really wrong and I strongly believe that this is what Meghan and Harry are doing. They are twisting a perfectly normal conversation among biracial families because they want to play the victim and race card.

I just don't believe her for some reason. How dark his skin might be? I had no idea she was black until it was made a deal of. She isn't even " too brown" and he is almost translucent. I just don't buy it.
I didn't believe it because the way she contorted her words, first saying 'when I was pregnant..." when she had a surrogate, and then as if she heard something herself, but when asked, it was so vague and nothing that she heard anyone say. She was repeating heresay she said Harry heard, but Harry later said what he heard was before the wedding and she said it all happened when she was pregnant. Their stories are too dissimilar. They don't match up at all. And by not identifying a person, they slimed the entire family. I just saw her as spiteful. I know the press was awful to her, but the family actually seemed kind to her. She forgets her other interview where she says they were the family she never had.

I'll chime in and agree with many of the other comments I see. I am white and my boyfriend is quite a dark skinned black man. Our families adore each other and at family get togethers that include both our families, our future children are often a lively topic. There are so many possibilities, they are fun for everyone to discuss. Will the child be dark skinned with my light grey eyes? Caramel colored with brown eyes? Look totally black, or even totally white. That is the beauty of mixed race children, they can look any way but are always beautiful!
She loves to remind us how intelligent she is yet she didn’t take the time to understand the laws. It would be on the grandfather, King Charles to bestow titles and the reason he’s holding out is because of their disloyalty.

I've got to agree that its about the money; but does that make anything they said untrue? They made one rather startling claim, and it would be a brave person to make such allegations without evidence.
Accusations of racism are out there now. M&H are keeping names to themselves which is unfair. However, neither have the accusations been denied in any convincing manner. I have no doubt that the colour of M&H first borne was a subject of curiosity, even racist curiosity, but context matters and so does who, on the public payroll made the remark.
Oprah does what enriches Oprah, but I see no evidence of her being furious at Meghan. Quite the contrary.

When I look back at Oprah's career, I remember that several, perhaps ten or fifteen years ago, I really started to get tired of watching her. She started virtue signaling on every show and was portraying herself as some kind of "savior" for all of us ignorant, lazy regular people. She started dispensing advice like she was a guru. I got tired of her holier than thou position on everything. What to wear, what to eat, what to read, how to speak etc. It got old really fast.
