I have a globe area with 3 Danica, 2 Hetz midget, 1 Tator Tot, 1 Little Giant and 1 Golden Globe. They all have paled quite a bit with the cold but green inside. However! Golden Globe looked exactly as yours does when I bought it on clearance. I cleaned it up like you rejuvenated the Alberta Spruce that time. Put her in the ground and she struggled but pulled out nicely. Looks gold and pretty now. All are in full sun. I’d pull yours and pot her. Give her your magic TLC!💫I believe you can save this one too!❤️

Thank you for sharing your experience with your globe cedars! So glad to hear yours is coming back! Inspiring for me. I am thinking of turning switching front & back since the back side looks very good, unlike the front. but worry about the impact of digging it up. This was raised to a decent size from a a nursery gallon pot - hate to loose it. Thanks for your advise. You have such good memory on the vast selection you have. I have been loosing names and have to look them up. Glad to be able to move around the yard physically 😊😊

Hi, I'm so sorry to see your video. I have a Danica which I think is similar to yours perhaps a smaller variety. Yours looked really happy in the container so I'm wondering if the conditions in the new position are causing this. Is it near a road now? Does the road get salted ? I used to live in Canada and I remember that was something to be aware of re. plantings roadside. The back of it seemed in better health. You've probably thought of this already but I'm just going through things in my head. They like moisture, is the new position close to a wall/walkway too dry and or windy or exposed? When it was transplanted did it have enough time to settle it's roots in before the winter weather? I wish I could help but that's all I can think of at the moment. Give it a bit more time, unless you really can't put up with how it looks at your entry way I would wait and see for another month or so as they can be temperamental and sometimes conifers just don't like being disturbed. I hope it recovers for you, take care.

Thanks for your detail comments and the thoughts behind it. You nailed quite a few key points.
Yes. it is next to a pedestrian walkway, which we salt heavily when it snows. Worse yet, when we shuffled, we dumped the snow there, right between the entry to the house (for the postman) and the driveway (for the car). This spot used to have an Autumn Joy Sedum that get cut back in Fall and is indestructible. We will be careful in the future but it has not snowed yet this winter.
This is more exposed compared to what are in my front yard but I live in a busy street in the city, so not so much exposure to the elements but to city pollution, yes.
It was transplanted September 23, 2023. There should be enough time given out lowest temp arrives in January or later. I did water it carefully the year after the transplant.
You have helped tremendously already, knowing there is someone out there thinking this through with me🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I do not mind its look at all, just hoping it can come back some day. I will wait a bit and before I give up, I may try switching front and back. You also noticed the back being better looking.
Again, your time and thoughts are very much appreciated! 😊😊😊

I didn't know their lifespan was so short. You took really good care of it.

Do not think this is its natural life span. There is something going on, my fault or not (or a combination of). I will try my best to revive though. Thanks for your comments! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

With the back of it being ok against the wall where it's protected, it certainly could be frost damage. I don't know if you've got pets but i have seen damage like that done by dogs and cats spraying plants. Wild animals like foxes can do the same damage. It's the salt in the urine.

You have a good point! There are people walking their dogs and sometimes they do stop by. Hummm…… don’t know how to stop that though.
There are small animals at night digging around. Not sure what they are looking for but I find dips in the ground from their digging. Some may have relieved themselves while digging. Thank you so much for
the added info and thoughts. Very helpful. I feel like it wasn’t all my fault now. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
