Great review, holy cow! Getting Ultras to flip consistently does take a great deal of practice. Putting in enough straight forward momentum on the roll has been the key, for me.
This is probably the best review I’ve seen for the new series, thank you for stating so many points of the I’ve been thinking about regarding Battle Planet!
Actually now that I think about it the new Dragonoid does look a lot like Leonidas! That information oddly makes me like him a lot more because I really wanted them to make Leonidas!
Aw crap, seeing that Dharak at 6:29 made me go dig out my own. Nostalgia hitting me like a truck. I had a meagre collection of only about 15, but I treasured them and quite frankly, it's cool that they're bringing it back. If they weren't so expensive I'd probably have bought quite a few already.
There seems to be some sort of misconception. The original Bakugan was NOT unsuccessful in Japan. In fact the reason there’s even two seasons to begin with is because the Tv show was popular enough for it to get picked up for a second season. The toys on the other hand were not as popular because in Japan they couldn’t time the toy releases with the show. The reason New Vestroia didn’t air in Japan until later was because they wanted to wait until all the bakugan were ready to sell so they could time the release with the show.
That doesn't make much sense. If the show was popular in Japan, how come Mechtanium Surge still hasn't been released there? The first we heard about a second season of Bakugan came from Canada, not Japan: www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-09-25/26-bakugan-new-vestroia-episodes-planned-for-spring Shows like Bakugan only end because they're not making money. There's no 2 year gap between seasons and products for Buddyfight, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc. Duel Masters and Battle Spirits have had periods where there wasn't any new anime for a while, but the card games went unaffected. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe there was new merch rolling out in Japan for Bakugan between the end of S1 in 2008 and the start of S2 in 2010.
I Miss Bionix Mechtanium surge actually was fully dubbed in Japanese and there's Japanese toys that exist for the show meaning that it was initially planned for release. Once again like the original series, Gundalian invaders the TV show actually was doing quite well but the toys were not selling very well likely because they released almost every single toy for the show at once. During this time however Sega toys probably noticed that Bakutech toys were selling fairly well in Japan (likely because of the help from publication giant corocoro who was in charge of the manga) and decided to put their efforts into Bakutech which led to anime adaptation of the bakutech manga. Bakutech was fairly successful in Japan which is why bakugan lasted an extra 3 years in Japan, however in 2014 Sega Toys boys division saw huge losses and the bakugan line which had been declining in popularity since late 2013 was canceled. In 2015 Sega toys boys division was closed entirely.
@@indagoman648 I'm aware that Mechtanium Surge was produced in Japanese (and that version is floating around because the Chinese dub is based on it), but doesn't that just prove my point further? If the show was popular, why didn't they just air MS on Kids Station or dump it on a streaming service? Instead, it still hasn't been released there years later. Bakugan's time slot then got replaced by Zoobles, with Bakutech relegated to 5-minute shorts in Oha! Coro.

I Miss Bionix the Japanese still don’t even want to get into streaming and certainly were not going to get into in 2012 lol. The toys are really what dictate what show is airing and while the toy sales of GI were not selling well enough compared to the bakutech toys. It’s not that the toys were “failing” per-say rather that Sega saw an opportunity to focus on a much bigger market. To my original point the problem with the original show wasn’t even necessarily that bakugan weren’t selling well. Hell the fact that the TV show exists to begin with is because the original game sold well enough in Japan to warrant it. The real issue is that at some point the toys weren’t even available for people to buy. When The bakugan like blade Tigrera and storm skyress weren’t even in the original Japanese because they weren’t produced by the time the show was over. The actual show itself however was decently successful in Japan and the game probably would have been too if the releases of the toys had been lined up with the show.
How DARE you call our beautiful curvy boi Thiccanoid ugly? The new dragonoid is so thicc because as as a kid i loved the series and the toys so I bought a NEW dragonoid I love him sure he is a little thicc but that is what makes him beautiful
To be honest, the original series aired in America in early 2008, and ended in early 2012, in which it was a 4 year period. And then 6 years later, that's when the reboot came out, at least at the near end of 2018 before the weekly continuation of 2019.

Y'all I'm beyond excited. I'm too old to be excited about this stuff but I'm excited. When I was younger, I thrived on Bakugan. It wasn't the show. It wasn't the game itself. It was just the bakugan. I loved the design aspect of them and when the series ended, I was definitely heartbroken (although the bakutech, which I have a few of, are veryyy nice). It was all about design aspect and I still have all of my bakugan from when I was younger. The new ones, while it's agreeable that them not being perfectly ball-shaped is not the greatest, look amazing to me. Their designs seem so much better than the old ones. Not like I don't love the old ones, but some of those designs were too simple. Here, they certainly seem to thrive. That's what I loved about some of the last bakugan they designed for the originals. They had spicy designs. Dharak, for example. The one that was actually dragon-like for once that's shown in the video. I really liked that design. It's true, many of them required too many steps to fully get into their transformed mode, but some of that was what made them cool. The idea that there's a checklist for them is great because I know I'll want them all :)

I just hope that if they make any other special colorations or whatever, won't be like the Diamonds...

Man I had so many damn Bakugan.... First Dragonoid... dragonoid II.... Spin Dragonoid... Maxis Dragonoid... Hydranoid II.... Hydranoid III... Even the Nintendo DS game exclusive Naga
Regarding the small variety of items in the initial assortment, you've got to remember that the U.S. got OG Bakugan more than six months after Canada did. I remember walking into a Toys R Us in the summer of '07 and there were maybe 10 Bakugan blisters on the shelves, the launcher toy and the carrying case. IIRC, that was the initial wave. My guess is that after the line took off in Canada, U.S. retailers were willing to take on more items at launch. Battle Planet hasn't proven itself yet, so it's easy to see why Spin Master isn't shoving down a tonne of product right now. Alpha Group did eventually import the Chinese Screechers Wild cartoon. Midway through last year they removed all of the web-shorts they had produced and uploaded a new English dub. I'm not sure if you're aware, but Alpha will be discontinuing Screechers Wild at the end of this month. They ended up settling the lawsuit with Spin Master either because they knew they'd lose or because the line was already seen as a failure not worth continuing to fight over.
1. Yeah, u right, spin máster always there are issues of date of relasing. 2. In Latinoamérica Mecard anime Is good popular and kids are willing to pay for them, Screechers Is only a cheaper watered down Mecard
@@RolandTemplar I can't speak to the Spanish world, but it seems like Mecard is dead in the English one. Mattel really messed up the launch. They first released season 1 in Australia and Canada in 2017, then they did a new dub of the show for the U.S. last year ... but they didn't release season 2 in Australia or Canada. We just got old toys repackaged. Now the U.S. dub has ended after 26 episodes and they're telling kids to go watch the original English version. I know there was something similar in Spanish, where it was first aired on TV in Mexico (I think?) in 2017, then got re-dubbed last year.
@@IMissBionix yep, apparently Mecard Is a very local asian product, if Bakugan make well, surely Will forget Mecard, specially for that awful series as dino Mecard and fhiat

When you said that the new dragonoid look like Leonidas I said that it does so I bought a darkus dragonoid to use in a video and the name of the bakugan is leonidas
Hell yea my boi leonidas is still remembered
The new frago design looks familiar.
Dude you speek my bakugan language
The funniest lines are: OH NOW IT DECIDES TO WORK
: this weird spinny thing
: TROX IS JUST FREAKIN PAC MAN
Man I had so many damn Bakugan.... First Dragonoid... dragonoid II.... Spin Dragonoid... Maxis Dragonoid... Hydranoid II.... Hydranoid III... Even the Nintendo DS game exclusive Naga
I'm happy to see it back
Regarding the small variety of items in the initial assortment, you've got to remember that the U.S. got OG Bakugan more than six months after Canada did.
@@IMissBionix Ghost my bad
I was like, huh I wonder if this guy covered bakugan... .OH ... oh shi-
2:18 that spidey boii has big hunch, any ways I kinda like the new drago. The first one looked like it’s head was molded from a stale piece of macaroni. Like don’t lie, you see it too XD
People think Drago looks like Leonidas? Never really thought about that before.
same. I don't even see that many resemblence to Leonidas
@@ZakTheKaiju probably the hands, angled-up wings and backwards-facing horn...

7:42 i have a haos dragonoid ultra and Haos Hyper dragonoild ultra
since a reboot was made for Bakugan, could it go on for another 4 years?
There's an arrow on the bakugan, usually on the bottom. If you roll the bakugan that way, it will flip how it is supposed to.
I love bakugan
I like the chunky ultra they add way more detail than brawl and I miss brawl but the new ones are dope af
I NEVER KNEW I HAD A BAKUGAN (I was 6 when I got my first BAKUGAN it was a black darkus and aquas) my grandma got me 2 and I didn't even knew what they where I still have them (sry for making you read)
It’s good 👍🏻
The toys are still slowly being released around America’s Walmart locations last week I found all the attributes of bakugan but diamond cause diamond is pretty rare now in my area it was sold out.
Ah yes, OG Diapernoid. How nostalgic.
8:37 is the video where he talks about subtera being axed out yet?
13:13 I don't see this happening as Sega co-owned the Bakugan franchise and no longer do, which could put a lot of the old stuff into a legal limbo.
One thing i can say is, *Bakugan stand!* _stand_ , _CPU's 2 turn_
It's stuck in my head
I haven't seen bakugan in such a long time (I was born in 2008 so I'm younger than this but I still know what this is)
I always thought Leonidas was made exclusivly for the first Bakugan videogame.
no, the game was packed in with a naga
wolkaiser drake I think he means he thought Leonidas was supposed to be a Bakugan found in game exclusively
@@leoptsd6832 Yep.
5:50 did i also SEE hydorus ??

I need thesr statues. Some Bakugan would be great for d&d.
RIP Subterra😢🙏
Weird spinny thing? Dude i love that thing🤣
Wait... Leonidas was never officially released? Son of a goat! Why not?!
Not fair man, the bakugan doesn’t ship to Europe until April!
Huh, I thought you were supposed to throw them on the ground to open them... now I know why they are broken
It's been a while kohdok
It's been a long while
I'm happy that I found you again
Kohdok returning to his roots, I see.
1:20 Not all Bakugan has the word noid at the end of their names.
Am I able to use older bakugan? I have a haos bakugan with a base power of 800 and the black and gold storm skyress along with the black and gold neo dragonoid, and a haos primo vulcan I wanna use them again if it’s possible
Could you do a video comparing Bakugan and Mansuno?
4:56 did i just see lupitheon
5:10 is that music from nanbaka?
Jeez, I remember playing with these toys back in 2013.
Oh snap man you’ve gotta do redakai, that joke brought back too many memories
How do you feey about the more mechanical look to all the bakugan
Oh I need to show my friend who always wanted bakugan when we were kids but never managed to buy them
Who else hates that its not a gate card that they stand on and that you have to roll it on its head?
Love this review!!! Can't wait for the anime one!
TBH THIS REBBOT IS BETTER THAN ORIGINAL
Subterra was actually my favourite attribute and it made me sad when they decided not to bring it back.
