From another Sign Guy... I designed a micro camper for my truck. You gave some great ideas I can incorporate into my design. We should collaborate... Combining what I have and what you did, we'd corner the truck camper market. Fantastic job! very clean work...
I've seen a lot of builds, but honestly from top to bottom this is clearly one of the best. Well thought out design and the attention to detail is amazing. Very nice!
One of the best DIY campers I've seen.. I am shamelessly going to borrow ideas from yours to make my own.. I've got a Chevy Colorado with a 5'2" bed and this general idea is about 80% of what I think I'm going to do.
Nice build Dave! One comment: Your carbon monoxide detector should be lower in your 5.5' camper, because carbon monoxide is heavier than oxygen and you want to detect it as quickly as possible. Where you have it could almost fill your camper (and you) before the detector set off an alarm!
Wowza! People will always have opinions about size, space etc. But this is the highest quality, most thought out camper on the internet! Good for you! Puts the production manufacturers to shame.
One thing you did incredibly well is the design. The whole thing looks incredibly professional. Your material cost looks fairly high, but I suspect you had easy access to most of the supplies from the sign business. Excellent work overall. Much more pleasing to the eye than giant steel and wood contraption.
Extremely well done. Very professional looking. My wife and I were looking for a 20' or smaller camper, when I saw this I started looking at the Rayzr's. Well done. Thanks!
His is just GREAT! I can hear the pride in your accomplishment. Such organization and thought. I have a Ford F-150, 1995, long bed, and I would kill to have something like this for my truck. Outstanding work, sir.
I,m an RV Mechanic. And I must say......You did an absolute beautiful job on this! Just from the video I can tell the Quality of this tiny camper far exceeds anything you could have bought factory built. AWESOME!!!!!
Dave, nice job on the build. Well thought out. And to those that think it is too small, it is replacing a tent. One small thing - "Antenna" is spelled wrong. Thanks for sharing your work.
Wow!! What an impressive little camper. The fit and finish are as impressive as I've seen in a DIY. In fact, it's nicer in that regard than many manufactured campers. Of course....now I have to go watch the entire build series !! Very well done, sir.
Building with the aluminum and 3m tape is genius! i used your idea to make a hardtop for a popup truck camper that lost it's top. it's still solid and water tight going on five years!
Nice quality build. We all have different needs and ideas, I am planning to remove the bed of a regular cab F-150 4x4 and custom build a fiberglass enclosure to the frame, then build a trailer of similar size. Mobility will be awesome and the room and privacy of two separate interiors will be very comfortable.
This is amazing. I can't say just how many times I HAD TO GO in the middle of the night while camping and had to use a shovel to make a "potty" This is an AMAZING setup.
I am blown away with what you have accomplished! Even though I know it is small, it seems to feel comfortable and not very tight. The finishing work is first rate and you're set up for some good camping experiences. Haven't watched you videos but will do so soon.
The work that you did looks very good, and very well finished. I wish that you would have cantilevered the sleeping birth at least part of the way over top of the truck cab, and had the tail end of the camper go to the end of the truck tail gate when it is down. You could have had twice as much room.
I can not thank you enough for this great design...what a fabulous end result...I have been trying to put together a design for my son to join us on occasion while we travel (without sharing my bus with him...LOL) and he has a pick up and talks talks talks about having his own little tiny house on the back...this is absolutely the best I have seen...great job and so much thanks for some really great ideas...happy travels to you...hope you enjoy your tent on wheels...or was that "not a tent" on wheels...LOL
I don't even think you could buy something this well-built. This thing's going to last longer than you lol. Materials must have come in a little bit high on the cost aspect. Amazing build professional. Thanks for the tour.
It is Beautiful David .. very awesome .. .. This is exactly what i want for my truck . I just purchased an older Camperette,, and i will redo the interior , this will be my summer project until i get time to build one like this.. I love your colors mine as well orange , red black
I brouse the Internet everyday for small portable living spaces...Your design is the most compact, comfortable, functional, attractive, well planned and accesssable I have seen after viewing thousands of ideas...I love it!! If you could make this affordable to the average person, find a way to put it on and remove it with one person capabiity and with good marketing, I believe millions of people would love to own it. I know you made it just for you....but many of us would buy one if you chose to create a business producing and selling these. I think so....
Thank you so much. I am already in a career I very much enjoy. Honestly, I do not think most people would pay the money a production model of this camper would be worth. But, it is a thought. Thank You Again.
Wow!!! Love everything about this camper. Amazing design, build and decor. The exterior and interior, wow. Everything tucks away keeping the space clear.
This is absolutely the most professional such build I've seen thus far and I've watched quite a few videos. I really thought the K-Bar placement was pretty cool. I don't remember seeing a first aid kit hanging anywhere. Perhaps you just didn't show it. I'm gonna go check out the build videos now. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. The only issue is no running water. You have plenty of room under the sink to mount a blue 7.5 gallon water tank and water pump. Or a larger water tank. Also, it wouldnot be a complete camper without a shower. You can easily mount an outside shower setup cut into the cabinet under the sink. Sure the water will be cold, but why not be as comfortable in the wilderness with some kind of shower.
Amazing, you get the prize for making the most of what you have !! You should be proud of it...Congratulations on a well built camper . Thank you for sharing.
It looks great. I have one thing to consider though. Maybe move the CO monitor. A central location about 5 feet from the floor, closest to where the majority of people will sleep, is the best location for a carbon monoxide detector. CO rises slowly as the air in the room warms, but can stay close to the floor in a cool, enclosed space.
I just wanted to highly complement you on your awesome little rig! As you said you literally did think of everything. Congraduations I hope you thoroughly enjoy it! Thanks for the inside look :-)
Excellent job all the way around! You covered everything and and your use of space is top-notch. You've made the Rayzr look 3rd rate in comparison. This is easily the best micro camper I've ever seen.
Wow this is amazing!! Ive made a truck cap camper but want to make the bottom for it because theres no room for my kids to sleep..that bunk bed system will work great for my new design!! Thsnks so much

Go over the cab!!!
Damn! That is one sweet camper!
Thank You! Sold it Almost three years ago....
Nice build Dave! One comment: Your carbon monoxide detector should be lower in your 5.5' camper, because carbon monoxide is heavier than oxygen and you want to detect it as quickly as possible. Where you have it could almost fill your camper (and you) before the detector set off an alarm!
Bob Porter ...watch my follow up video...I address that.
@@davethesignguy4414 Your camper was featured on RV DIY and that's where I saw your camper. I didn't know about your other videos! Happy Travels.
David Ashley, after looking at 'slide in's' for decades, THIS is the one I think I would be the happiest living in. What a jewel man, well damn done.
Thank You Very Much!!!
Very nice love it.
👏 👏 👏 bravo!!! I did not expect that awesome interior! Very cool!
Thank You Very Much

Your homemade truck house looks nice. That bus conversion is nIce
This is perfect for a small truck like mine
You did a fantastic job. Well thought out and professionally executed. It's a better quality than I have seen from many "quality" RV builders. Bravo.
This is extremely impressive and laid out very well. Excellent work!
Extremely well done. Very professional looking. My wife and I were looking for a 20' or smaller camper, when I saw this I started looking at the Rayzr's. Well done. Thanks!

Very nice and creative sleeping camper with lot of tools necessary for a trip in a tiny small space.Great job.
I'm a woman and I think that is super nice!!!! Good job!!
Well I'm a Man and I thank you for your complement!
David Ashley You're welcome! 😊
I am literally blown away right now, that little camper is just awesome. You sir rock, you did a beautiful job on that camper.
This is hands down the coolest self build I have seen to date. All around a excellent little camper that sure beats a tent!
-Thomas
I'm Not Lost I'm RVing you forgetting something?! Tonnes and tonnes of storage
His video of how he makes his panels blew me away I never knew tape could be so strong ha
all around amazing camper
Wow I didn’t think you’d be able to fit all that in there! Well done!
Thank You. Watch your channel all the time!!!
Into The Mystery 13 , That's what she said!
Sry, I couldn't resist.
Remarkably well made . Fit,finish, quality, design and style to boot ! Congratulations! Definitely engineering background in your resume . Bravo !
Very nice. One of the nicest homebuild truck camper I've seen. Well done.
I was not expecting that. Well done awesome job. That's the first one I've seen that would suit the UK pickup market
Looks, layout and craftsmanship 100%better than anything commercially available. Very advanced for a diy.
I,m an RV Mechanic. And I must say......You did an absolute beautiful job on this! Just from the video I can tell the Quality of this tiny camper far exceeds anything you could have bought factory built. AWESOME!!!!!
Thank You So Much! that means a lot coming from someone with your background!!!
Dave, nice job on the build. Well thought out. And to those that think it is too small, it is replacing a tent. One small thing - "Antenna" is spelled wrong. Thanks for sharing your work.
Got s feeling he's built trailers for a living. Very professional n clean. Nice job.
Wow!! What an impressive little camper. The fit and finish are as impressive as I've seen in a DIY. In fact, it's nicer in that regard than many manufactured campers. Of course....now I have to go watch the entire build series !! Very well done, sir.
Well done, of your master piece of art

I look forward to seeing that!
Very nice. I wouldn’t be able to handle such a small space, but you certainly made it seem huge. Good job.
This is amazing.
I can't say just how many times I HAD TO GO in the middle of the night while camping and had to use a shovel to make a "potty"
This is an AMAZING setup.
You should be proud. You did an excellent job. Looks professional.

Well done! It’s beautiful and I wouldn’t have any problem camping in it. Very cozy and, like you, I hate tents!!!
Fascinating build, very compact, intrigued to see the follow up
Very impressive - I would love to hear more of the actual construction elements, the skin, insulation, wiring, etc.
The work that you did looks very good, and very well finished. I wish that you would have cantilevered the sleeping birth at least part of the way over top of the truck cab, and had the tail end of the camper go to the end of the truck tail gate when it is down. That is true, but that would have been a very different build and been way more weight!
This is an incredible use of space. I am super impressed, good job sir
Absolutely AWESOME build! Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for sharing. Very impressive, professional build.

Thank You for your kind words. Truth be told, It's sold! On to my next project.
Gotta admit, I love tent camping, but amazing work. Looks incredible, well done.
This thing is awesome. To have these luxuries, small or not that’s so portable. What a great way to travel the u. S.
That is actually pretty damn cool, I have an old pop up camper frame I want to do something with like that but be able to haul my motorcycle in it too
wcemichael that is very doable
Awesome job! Great design! 1-10 score, its a 15! 😎👍
I don't even think you could buy something this well-built. This thing's going to last longer than you lol. Materials must have come in a little bit high on the cost aspect. Amazing build professional. Thanks for the tour.

Wow. That is great. That plan would also work in a tall panel van. Great.
Pretty slick! Amazing quality and workmanship!
Thank You. I put jacks on it. Sold it last year.
Excellent Job!!👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
You should be really proud of that, that's really nicely done.
Wow. Super smart clean design. Very cozy.
This has been the best micro camper I ever seen. Wonderful job!

very nice clean job. small and perfect
What an awsome job! Great work 👍
Thank You!
Incredible! I can’t believe all the features you were able to include in that amount of space. Looks great too. So organized.
Amazing, you get the prize for making the most of what you have !! You should be proud of it...Congratulations on a well built camper . Thank you for sharing.
Thumbs up. I hope you use it a lot.
I wasn't so sure when I saw the outside, but the inside is better thought out than most tiny houses. The fit and finish is A1
Wow that's a surprising number of luxuries in a small package.
K-bar 12 inch @7min12sec, very important for me. Nice.
It looks great. I have one thing to consider though. Maybe move the CO monitor. Annie Gill :Thank You very much.
Not exactly what I have in mind (something a little bigger), but.... wow! Nicely Done!
This is one of the most American cars that I have ever seen
That is beautiful, nice work, great design & layout.
Excellent job all the way around! You covered everything and and your use of space is top-notch. You've made the Rayzr look 3rd rate in comparison. This is easily the best micro camper I've ever seen.
Wow..cool for how much space there is!I could camp in that for sure!
You should modify the door hinge so it can stay open (similar to patio screen doors with the quick little slide lock. Great setup, I'm super jealous!
Wow! When I first saw the thumbnail I thought "How ridiculous!" but as a tent replacement it is very well done. Good job!
wow what a great build . very nicely done .
Amazing, that puts my build to shame.
I'll have to check out your videos!!!
I like the bunk. Nice build.
Wow this is amazing!! Ive made a truck cap camper but want to make the bottom for it because theres no room for my kids to sleep..that bunk bed system will work great for my new design!! Thsnks so much
I the cleanest well thought out self build I've seen. The inverter under the sink is a bit iffy but seams like could move that.
Super nice..clean set-up and quality material...
If I had a truck....that would be perfect..
very nice indeed. super material choices and love stainless. Your ceiling treatment is like starlight, kewl beans
What a beautiful job. Really clean. Hats off to ya.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
Very well done. I will be utilizing your ideas on my next build.
Dito, Well Done David, has a professional look to it !!!
Has a nice bright look and feel. Best wishes.
Awesome compact rig. Excellent job. GER
Be proud yourself) Excellent build and an amazing accommodation of space!

Love it. Great video. Wonderful build. Thanks Dave.
I hate camping ⛺ too, but I'd love to spend the weekend in this marvellous vehicle. Outstanding 🚙👋🇬🇧💓🇺🇸
I wish you would have addressed what happens when you are inside your camper and someone comes along and closes your tail gate on you.
Actually, I do. If you watch the next video I answer a lot of questions. Thanks.
Yeah, I see what you've done... Brilliant!
this is awesome! very well made! thanks for sharing!
the step extender is a fantastic idea. I'm making one tonight
