    This is by far, I feel is the best instructional video I have come across. No B.S. no needless talk, clear cut and concise, easily explained in lay terms. Excellent job, and recommedation(s). keep up the good work.

    My man, thank you for posting this video. I used it to replace the thermostat on my 2013 CTS 3.0. I didn't remove the entire cowl, just the passenger's side. Took me 3 days to get the housing free, but I had (what I believe to be) fuel lines blocking my full access, so my left hand got a killer workout! Just got it all back together today and took it for the maiden voyage around the block, followed by an hour drive to put it under load. The thermostat was the final hurdle I had to clear after repairing and reinstalling the driveshaft after the stock bolts sheared off, then replacing the water pump then finally the thermostat. So thank you for showing the way! Big thumbs up!
    Mike

    This f**king car RIGHT HERE!!! I just had to replace the fuel pump on mine...had to cut a hole in the sheet metal underneath the backseat just to access it! The alternator was towards the bottom of the engine when I replaced that!! When I 1st bought it a headlight was burnt out that's when I learned the whole front bumper cover had to come off just to replace it! Had to buy a stupid pump & manually pump tranny fluid in from underneath the car when I did a pan drop & filter change!! I would sell this piece of 💩 but the newer models are just as difficult to work on these days 🤬 I've decided that if anything screws up w/ the h/vac system like the heater core or the a/c evap core, expansion valve goes out on it I will just sell it as is; the WHOLE dash has to come out from the inside to replace those components!

    It's hell to remove that thermostat! I followed the instructions in the shop software, it says to remove the upper stabilizer bar, wipers, wiper motor cover, and the wiper motor, then the fuel injection cover and insulation and then you have access to the thermostat.... Sounds easy but hell no, each pipe has hidden bolts against the cylinder heads and the o rings on some are pretty stuck. And I don't even know how I took the heater hose off lol

Did you have that problem? My cousin helped me put the new fan on and on and he mentioned that he doesn't think that thermostat is opening Can you let me know if those were the symptoms with your cadillac, thank you Oh and by the way I was not getting any error messages iwhen they checked if it could be the water pump or the thermostat none of it showed up

    • @TshirtWetter
      @TshirtWetter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What you explained did not happen to me however, It does sound like the thermostat is not opening. The fact that you had water on the ground but the reservoir was still full is a good indication that the thermostat is not allowing water to circulate from the engine back to the reservoir.
