Exactly, i have a puppy and one time i put a "do not pet please" shirt on him because hes very jumpy, and people still pet him, people just dont understand 😑😑😑
I agree what if the dog was not good around people. Then if the dog bit the person because they were scared the dog would have to be put down because people don't seem to understand that this dog does not know you.
These people are ridiculous. There is no way that they "didn't know she was working" because IF YOU SEE A DOG IN SCHOOL, THERE IS ONLY ONE REASON IT WOULD BE THERE.
I always respect service dogs but unfortunately there are people who are truly that ignorant and they are so small minded that they cant or won't see anything beyond their own tiny circle. Entitlement and ignorance as a combo is sickening to me because people believe no rules apply to them and they will argue till they are 6 ft under that u are the stupid one. Screw em...screw em all
And yet at that one video service dogs were working and yet their handlers let other handlers rub them so the rule only goes for non ppl with service dogs?
From a legal standpoint she isn't supposed to even really acknowledge your dog with out your permission and you most likely can get her fired for ignorantly complaining about your dog tasking while you had a mini ep.
This is a ESA dog (if it is real) different from service dog. You are allowed to ask two questions if it is a service dog. Is it a trained service dog & what was it trained to do? ESA dogs are not allowed in where service dogs are. This girl is a fraud. I want her to show a letter head from a doctor & therapist showing she needs a ESA dog & this is the only legal way you can claim it is a ESA. Just because you train a dog does not mean you can claim it to be a ESA or service dog.
@@BBBYpsi an ESA is not trained to do tasks. her dog is. Therefore it is NOT an ESA dog but a service dog. She doesnt have to show you anything lmao. You do not need paperwork to say your dog is a service dog. All it takes is having a dog trained to do certain tasks which help with function, which her dog is, its trained to help with her PTSD.
@@Anakaraya Actually in one of her video's she titled it Emotional support dog. Then shortly after that video she gave this dog away to someone. Here is video where she titles is ESA. th-cam.com/video/u6aIFxSEZO4/w-d-xo.html PSTD is emotional stuff not handicapped where a service dog is needed. There is a difference & for a ESA you need a certified letterhead from a therapist or doctor & what that ESA is for emotionally. FACT!!! Even if you get a certified letter from a doctor it is only good for one year & has to be renewed. These online ones are just note mills & are not legal 95% of the time. Here is a good read on it. esadoctors.com/emotional-support-animal-doctors-note/
Even my 4 year old knows not to touch a dog with a vest without asking(I’ve taught him to never ask anyways) and to always ask to touch non working dogs also cuz you never know if they’re hostile. So these high school students should know better.
I agree. like if the dog is distracting perhaps you should have your student move instead of making a bigger distraction by causing the dog to be moving.(I just realized that the interpreter had no clue it was a bigger distraction to be having the dog moving. How did they not think of that)(BTW I so on your side @ Shania Godbout)
It's so inspiring that you have PTSD and that you stick up for yourself I don't have PTSD and I can barely stick up for myself You're such an inspiration tbh
What is the PTSD from? Just curious, I’m not trying to discount it at all I know it’s very serious what ever it is and honestly I had no idea you could have PTSD from anything besides war, not that you don’t have it from war... sorry I’m awkward apparently even on social media. :’)
I’ve just been trying to get my parents to get me a dog (not service dog) to help with some mental illnesses I have but some of them I have 4 don’t take me seriously and say it won’t help even tho one of the huge things is anxiety and I’m a lonely child
Isabel Sanders some PTSD comes from verbal or physical abuse, other types are caused by traumatic experiences. A car crash is a good example of traumatic ones. Sometimes, it might even be witnessing something happen to someone else. PTSD can be triggered by anything relating to the original event, or original events if it's an abuse case. It may be the music that was playing that day, a scent, a certain phrase, or even a feeling or something they see. Episodes range from person to person. Some simply withdraw into themselves, others become angry and agressive, and others might become irrational or depressed, and it is likely that the subject of these emotions is not even related to the original event. Some people shake or panic, maybe even get physically sick. Passing out is also a severe reaction.
I had a service dog that's breed is Rottweiler and we had a sub and the sub said this " A Rottweiler can't be a service dog and luckily the real teacher was coming back to class and had that sub fired
I have PTSD and I totally understand the blocking out thing. I usually start to have flashbacks from people yelling at me (for reasons). Sadly, I don’t have a service dog 😂
I get that. Loud noises freak me out because of personal reasons. I do want to get a service dog but my cats hate dogs so I plan on getting one just to help out when I’m older.
Riley Stone I have the same problem. I can do some loud noises but when someone starts to yell at me or come closer to me I start to panic. I don’t have a service dog.
That was completely unprofessional of the interpreter. I'm so glad you spoke out. A lot of schools would ignore these issues because when I was your age, I didn't have a platform like this. I'm so glad students can speak out about the injustices they face. You guys get 0 respect just because of your age and you're in school. You have rights and deserve respect. So glad you're taking advantage of this platform! Don't let your school silence you.
Omg Tysm for saying that! I'm 12 with multiple incurable diseases, and like nobody has any respect what so ever. Like, "unless you're an adult I'm not respecting you." So I'm like, "Welp, Screw you." XD I've wanted to get a service dog, but I'm Allergic to the type of fur most dogs have, and the one type a can get which is a Labradoodle. And... the cheapest one I've found was $890... I'm sorry but I have more important things to pay for than a doggo not to mention doggo school. Lmbo No disrespect, I just could relate to the respect thing. :)

For some reason all of the interpreters I've met are Highkey Stressed. They snap real quick. Which like idk why the deaf students are always super nice and friendly??? and then the interpreter's just there angsting in the corner feelin used like honey if you don't like it maybe you should get a different job
Lol ive noticed that too! But I did have a classmate in highschool who's interpreter was this awesome lady who I swear was so funny they bickered like a married couple and were so nice I still run into her now and again shes a crack up XD
So late to the party, but in asl class we had to go to "deaf events". The deaf people in attendance were always super nice and willing to go slower than they'd normally sign. But the interpreters were always stuck up and rude, and acted better than us second year students.
Service dogs are medical equipment. Kids wouldn’t go up to someone and start messing with they’re oxygen tubes or their wheelchair or their iv so don’t mess with the service dog My comment section blew up with people trying to fight with me. Yes they are living creatures but when they are working in public they are considered medical equipment. And stop telling me to go take fucking meds. Thanks😊
They do act like living medical equipment. Some can tell when blood sugar is low, some can tell when a panic attack can happen(by signs like breathing heavy, rapid heartbeat, and so on), some help people see, and some can even tell when a seizure is about to happen. They do what medical equipment does. Mr. Squidie wasn't trying to make their value less. He was using it as a comparison so some people can understand better. Yes service animals are creatures, but they are used for medical reasons. Also, to tell someone to "take fucking meds and get over yourself" is super low. Maybe, instead of telling others to take meds, you should get off your high horse and stop being rude to people just because they view things differently than you
@@arrohart8321 preach it brother/sister. (Just adding on to what Arro Hart said) They (the service dogs/animal) can also smell/detect the different body oder changes, hormones, etc. that humans and machines/pills can't detect/smell which means that while the animal is a living, breathing, creature it is still also considered medical help/equipment just like a firefighter, police officer, Doctor, nurse, EMT, etc. (for the human help) and like an oxygen tank, IV, AED, "crash cart" (hospital terminology), etc. (for the equipment).
I taught my child at a very young age to ALWAYS ask with ANY dog before petting them, because not all dogs are okay with strangers petting them, and not all their humans are okay with it, either. She asks before EVERY dog, EVERY time, and she's 8 years old now. I hate how people do not have that courtesy, it's so basic.
MissLilRedRooster CUTIES FOR YOU. so did my mom and when I did it once without telling, she slapped me and said “that’s rude, apologize now.” I now know XD
I never really ask because I don’t.......like people...,but I kinda look at the owner first and usually they’ll nod or say something and I’ll go ahead.
The interpreter should be there to do her job. Not to correct students she isn't there for. She isn't there to correct you. She is there to interpret. She is also kinda interfering with your dog doing what she is trained for. She should get her priorities in order.
Kiddo K ... really? Cuz I thought that would make it pretty hard to sign which would stop the deaf student from being able to learn... I mean unless they somehow sign, bitch and listen at the same time which would make them the best multitasking person on the planet. 😑
Where I used to work in a grocery store, this one lady in a wheelchair shopped the Starbucks kiosk every day, and encouraged people to pet her vested service dog (she did many other attention-seeking things, too). This, despite the dog clearly geting stressed and barking. It was a younger dog, I'm guessing not more than a year out of training where it was *not* treated like a pet but a working animal, because during the long stretches where she sat at the cafe for hours without anyone to talk to, the dog was fine. But when other customers came around at rushes, especially kids, she'd say to pet it (which was d*mn stupid, nobody wants a stressed-service-dog-bites-overexcited-six-year-old lawsuit). This always irritated me, both on the dog's behalf and because it perpetuated the stupid behaviour my own grandmother, with her service dog, had to put up with.
you literally are so right in these situations. even if there’s two sides of the story, what happened happened and people shouldn’t be interfering with you and your SERVICE DOG. it’s for medical purposes. DONT INTERFERE WITH MEDICAL CARE lord have mercy
Dude. DO NOT PET means DO NOT PET. Like dude. You can read. I wouldn't ask, unless like I really want to pet your service dog. But like even then I wouldn't pet him/her.
If they look like they’re just chillin’ and relaxed I might, but I’d probably be too nervous to. Edit : just to clarify I meant that I might ask to pet the dog, not pet it without asking. I think service dog or not, you should always ask before petting.
Also, you don't go up to a doctor who's trying to use an AED and be like "Hey, I love your hair. Can I touch it? What product do you use?" Or anything's because they are WORKING. Some people really need to understand the fact that they are considered better than some medical equipment (they're better with understanding if their handler's breathing/heartbeat picks up, etc)
I generally try to ignore service dogs cause I dont want to distract them, even if the owner gives permission to pet. I dont want to put the owner at risk just cause I thought their dog was cute.
The point is the owner shouldnt give permission to pet and if they do their service dog has to be phony bc as soon as that vest is on in public they are a working dog and need to focus on their target 24/7
I saw a happy service dog at work while I was helping it’s owner and like a good and polite person I asked to pet the dog and when the owner said no I said okay and wished him a nice day because ALWAYS BE POLITE
I have two patches on my boy saying “do not pet, working dog”, one on both sides and I still get people who will pet him right over the patches!!!!! It’s infuriating!
Maybe get a patch " I have bitten three peoples fingers off and would like to make it four. Please pet me". Or something super sarcastic that makes people think, like "of course no one else can pet me, but you are special and a snowflake if you don't get your way, so go ahead" The usual "Do not pet" is used so often and ignorant people sadly ignore it very easily
@@stanallthemsnoms6102 probably, but even if only a few people get it, it helps the other patches. And people who dont get it will maybe ask why you have those kind of patches on your dog and you can educate them about the reason or maybe they will get too scared from the first one to get near your dog. So then the problem is also gone
My school won't even let My Service dog in School....because they don't think I need him! It's so frustrating like just because anxiety and depression and my other disabilities and illnesses are not visible! The school is like "she doesn't need him because we can help her." I'm like WTF! Yeah okay which one of y'all wants to put a collar on and leash walk on your hands and knees and alert me to panic attacks and do DPT like no one!?! Thought so!!!! Also don't want no creepy human doing DPT lmao!😂😅😂🙄🙄🙄🙄 but My mom and I are working on it they are well aware at this point that what they are doing is illegal....so yeah... but it's still obnoxious!

That’s why I finished my school online. I have a heart condition and people judge cause they can’t see it on the outside. When it’s just as serious as any other disease, I’m at high risk for heart attacks and passing out. People just don’t understand. I feel you girl.
All you legally need to take your school is a note from your doctor. That's not illegal. Most jobs have to have written letters from physicians. It's their way of being protected and protecting those with legitimate service animals.
Sadly the older people get the less they think it implies to them. My classmate trains dogs and somehow old people always try to touch them when you can clearly see they are in working mode. And when she asks the people to not pet them, they always say stuff like "I'm doing nothing wrong" or "this dog wont bite me, cause mine doesn't either". And I'm like, so you just go around touching thing that are not yours and when asked to stop you continue. Kind of disrespectful
i don’t pet any dog without asking. it’s just polite? you don’t know what issues any dog or owner have. it’s just a personal rule of mine. and if the owner says no, then don’t get shitty. that their property, their family.
Seriously! I used to like petting dogs and always asked. I was told no all the time! It was for my safety. I was always attracted to big dogs so owners often hesitated. I never questioned it or got upset. I was a pretty bratty child and even I had enough common sense
My parents told me you always have to ask before petting any animal because you don't know if it's aggressive or has a disease or if the owner simply doesn't want you to so I always have to ask before I pet the animal and it gets hard for me to ask without running over to the animal because I'm a huge animal lover but you have to respect people's boundaries with their animals.
I always ask but first I let the dog/s know I'm there and keep a good distance out of all our dogs we only had a few we took out in public to dog friendly places and always on a leash our dogs are country dogs and cause no problems which it's mostly family around here so they run free and if we took our dog that stood the leash we always stayed at somebody's house usually family we never go places the furthest we've been was AL with Chloe to stay a week with a family friend she was our best behaved dog that actually could stay in a collar so she got to go on more vacations she loved the leash but we always ok her first the only vacation she didn't go on was when we went to Cherokee my aunt took her in her and my aunt's dog didn't get along when it came to sleeping on the bed but besides that they got along as they were buddies my aunt kept them on opposite sides of the bed except when it stormed she said that was the only time they got along on the bed 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 it was hard to believe Chloe acted like that she was never jealous of sharing most likely new surroundings
I’ve had a conversation with my friend before when a service dog was at our tafe, Me- ‘god dammit I wanna pat the dog so much 😭 but I know I can’t’ Friend- ‘ikr shouldn’t even try while they’re working, makes me want my dogs even more’ Me- ‘can’t interrupt a good dog doing its job no matter how much it hurts 😭😂’ . Their owner was blind and that kinda made the situation more forceful in my mind, like they went past me later on and the dog brushed past me when I was waiting to be picked up and I kept as quiet and still as possible as to not disturb the dog and their owner. . I’ve got two dogs at home and i can’t even deny them pats, but even I know not to touch a service dog so why isn’t that obvious to some others?
Amelia Lin at this point, Im guessing she really has a LOT of time on her hands... cuz she’s at 815 LMAO (maybe that explains why she has difficulty doing her job 😪😪)
A girl at my school has a service dog, and uhh long story (not) short- I was talking/walking with my friend to our next class when they pass by and my hand accidentally grazes the dog. I pulled my hand back confused, until I realized it was the service dog. The girl apologized and I felt SO bad, it wasn’t anyone’s fault really, I just felt guilty for having my hand in the way....? Edit: my friend was on my left side and they passed on my right side, so I was facing more left, not paying attention to my right
I went to your school and I graduated and honestly a lot of kids and teachers have attitudes with just everything. I think I know what teacher your talking about too lol if it's the same teacher she uses to hate me but she was chilled out at the end of the year
oh wow... lol my art teacher is the same.. she just waits until the class shut up themselves and we end up being there all day because no one shuts up and the teacher doesn't tell them to.. and it's worse for me because I have severe anxiety, a panic disorder and PTSD and I get anxiety attacks in that class and tell my teacher but she just says "Oh wait for them to be quiet" or she tells me that I'm lying
American school systems are weird. Totally agree with the point of your video that a) interpreter needs to back the hell off and not interfere with a service dog mid-task, b) students need to respect yours and your dogs space, c) NO ONE should yell in the face of someone they KNOW suffers from PTSD (personally I believe that sort of behaviour is unnecessary and unacceptable regardless but PTSD makes the situation and their behaviour a LOT worse). But the concept of class being over when there's still 10 minutes to go, like we weren't allowed to pack our things away until the bell went then had to practically sprint to the next class to be there on time, and phones aren't allowed out in school. Full stop. Our headgirl got her phone confiscated because her bag broke and she had to carry all her belongings in a pile on top of her books until the end of the day, and that counted as having her phone out.
No, British school. Class ends when it ends, not 10 minutes from the end and we weren't allowed phones. At all. Not even at break times. (like we could have them in our bag for the end of the day but during school time they had t be switched off and put away)
Oh I get that, it just seems insane (my parents are both retired teachers and if they'd done that they'd have been hauled over the coals by the inspectors.
I have several patches on my dogs jacket. My 3 favorites are "not all disabilities are visible" with a green ribbon for mental health awareness, "no talking no touching no eye contact" on a neon yellow background, and "my mom's safety depends on your respect"
I also have the one that says “Not All Disabilities Are Visible.” I have a beautiful German Shepherd in training to be a PSD. He’s doing very well! I love your channel and your gorgeous dog! Also I’m a lot like you when it comes to sticking up for myself. I’ve been like that since I was 9. I’m 19 and I’m still like that but more defensive.

Hey, I was a teacher. I disagree with the idea that if a teacher has bad classroom management, they need to not teach. Being new or young as a teacher is difficult, and it's hard to find the right things to do to manage a classroom. I do agree that teachers should not get in their students' faces and yell. I definitely yelled in my classroom, but it was never directed at a specific student (unless it was something like a "Hey! Stop!" if it was a fight), and never yelled in their face. The fact that you have PTSD that seems to be triggered by yelling is even more of a reason for the teacher to not do that. If you have an IEP or 504 Plan- all teachers have to read and understand it, and there should definitely be a section in your IEP/504 Plan that specifies that people should not yell at you. Sorry you've had this experience, and I hope you have a better year following it.
This teacher has been teaching for 20 years. They are notorious for getting into fights with students. It just makes the whole classroom environment stressful. But yeah totally agree with you.
Thanks for responding and giving a bit more information. Someone who's been teaching for 20 years should definitely have a better handle on classroom management. It sounds like she gets into power struggles with students- which yes, is easy to do, but it's such a huge part of most classroom management courses, discussions, and programs that teachers are required to participate in. It definitely sounds like she is in the wrong profession.
Try the premack principle and stay positive. Works for dogs and kids. I am a teacher, coach, and trainer and it works best. Yes teachers are like SDs not robots, but when you are wrong from it learn, share and move forward to better things
Well in this case it sounds as if the teacher doesn't like kids and dont choose a teaching career if you dont like kids right? Cause i know for sure the career choice isnt about money.

Dude playing is part of maintaining your dog wether it's appropriate for class or not. It includes maintaining your health. AlWAYS TRUST YOUR DOG. Someone should tell her to suck socks.
Man I am seeing so much hate in this comment section. Please if you have nothing good to say just don't say it. Also this is stuff I just want to get off my chest because of what some people are saying. 1. emotional support dogs are not service animals. 2. A service dog does not need to have papers or a vest on. It is illegal to ask for them. Plus it's just easier to have the vest on the dog. 3. I am not a owner of a service dog but I do have a few friends who do have service dogs. So that's why I kinda know a little bit about service dogs. 4. ALWAYS ask before you pet a dog in public because like she said in the video some service dogs can get scared. 5. Because of people bringing emotional support animals to public places saying they are service dogs are making it harder for real service dog owners to get into places. Heck the other day I saw someone walking into a Walmart holding a dog in their hands. I could tell that dog wasn't a service dog because service dogs are normally on the ground incase their handlers have an episode. Plus it didn't have a leash and it was barking so that's how I could tell it wasn't a service dog. 6. If you complain about her whining or her complaining about something that happened to her then just click off the dang channel and videos. I mean come on if you were in her shoes wouldn't you do the same thing. Also she probably has her friends in some of her videos ( at least the ones I saw) in case something wrong happens to her when Dakota is off duty or is distracted at home or in videos. Sorry this is so long just wanted to say this.
Some service dogs are small and are meant to be carried. Some of them are specifically for people with ptsd . Her dog’s job does not require him to be big and on the ground, he can be a 10 pound, non-shedding poodle. How wonderful would that be for people who can’t take care of a large or hairy dog to have a small dog do the same job.
Isn't ptsd a emotional issue as well???? I researched and the answer is yes and this is an open forum there's gonna b haters everywhere if she can't handle it or u can't handle it ur in the wrong place
@@MissTrixie29 Yeah, I met my mother's friend and she had a tiny chihuahua she carried around. He was her service animal. He helped her with seizures so when she was about to have a seizure he calmed her down and if it was too late he would bark for help.
I have a emotional support dog bc when I get really bad anxiety my ears start to ring and my vision goes a little blurry so my dog is there to calm me but she is trained to be like a service dog, I bring her places but ofc she isn’t barking and running around or pulling on her leash
For the carrying. It depends on how big the dog is. I have a Dachshund for a Service Dog, and i often carry him, but just because someone carries their service dogs doesnt mean they arent service dogs. I just wanted to point that out.
if i was in your situation with that teacher i wouldve gone to the principle and complained cuz that is not right at all and they should be either fired ( if it does continue) or be educated in the various disabilities that require a service dog and how to handle certain situations
To the people who disliked the video... that is low. Not being a hater on them, but dudes, she's only venting, not trash talking everyone. PTSD is a painful disorder, that I know. (Thanks for liking this. I only wanted to remind people to be mindful. I might actually have PTSD speaking I have ups and downs, and am very jumpy/dart eyes everywhere/feel in constant danger, as well as have flashbacks of specifically my grandmas death, and this motorcycle driver who died before my eyes in a car accident.... so I know a little how ya feel 😉)
@@mikasaackerman4416 I get that, but that's where most should move on, as should I. I'm not going to hate on anyone, but I just want people to be mindful. Especially towards someone with PTSD, is all
@@thedejavuartist1753 you should coddle people just because they have PTSD. She's not safe from the real world just because of her condition people aren't going to like her videos. That's just life. Clearly it doesn't affect her that she got dislikes.
In Job Corps it is mandatory to not even bring your phone to any classes, and leave it locked on dorm until after the training day. I have been in a couple of schools since, and cellphones are not allowed in class. Teachers I have had don't yell in anybody's face though they just remind them to put it away until leaving time- if it is a repeat offense they will be warned to stop or they will be kicked out of class. Yelling at someone like that is unprofessional, and unacceptable behaviour though.
When she told me to stop playing with my dog I would have told her to mind her own business. I get why you couldn’t but 😡 she shouldn’t have said anything in the first place. She should have told the H.H./Deaf girl to pay attention.
I wasn’t even on my phone. My teachers let us have it on our desk. It went off so I flipped it with the screen down and she told me to give it to her. And I go this is my property. I do not trust you with my phone nor do I trust the school. So I just left the classroom after she told me to either give it to her or leave.
Lexi do you have a 504 plan? I have a son with PTSD and the 504 plan is helpful to make sure his rights are not violated (a teacher screamed in his face last year and was given administration leave). As you know when you have PTSD there are people who are just plain idiots, and unfortunately a lot of them are adults. Some people think PTSD does not exist because they don't "see" anything "wrong" with you. You shouldn't have to advocate for yourself, and educate adults (especially people in authority who probably should have chose a job that does not include interaction with people). There are times as a parent I have to "break it down" for teachers....like "How would you feel if I screamed at your father with Alzheimers disease to smarten up and start taken care of himself" then I let them know that screaming at , or getting in my son's personal space is the same issue....unacceptable. I also let them know that failure to follow his 504 plan is ILLEGAL and my lawyer and I will be following up on this violation. Sorry you and Dakota had to deal with such unprofessional idiots.
Sadly, even though I have an IEP, and my mother comes to each and every teacher and explains my disabilities, the teachers just do not listen. I've failed many gym classes for not participating enough, when my disability does not allow me to participate. I've been sat in the far back corner of the classroom despite being visually impaired. I've had teachers threaten to take away my mobility iPad. My mom comes in and throws a fit and in the end nothing gets done because they simply do not care.
@@kaitokisser_ legally they are not allowed to disregard the 504/ IEP system. I have it happen to me everytime with my severe social anxiety disorder. The thing is you can get teachers fired in an instant if they do not follow the IEP or 504. Its a legally binding document given by the state and the school system and once you and your parent sign it it becomes a full legal document meant to be followed or suffer consequences. Its best to straight up tell admins.
I am a first-year teacher and I would just like to point out that our job is not to parent and deal with attitude - it is to teach. The responsibility for student behavior falls on the students. It is not easy to get 30 kids to pay attention when a few refuse to control themselves - it is incredibly stressful and a lot of the kids who are the biggest problems just don't give a damn if they get in trouble and there is no real way to curb them. The ones who want to pay attention and learn can't because of the select few who don't Also, the yelling at you was not cool, but the no phones at all during a test is because the one who is done can be sending answers to those still working and they can sneak check and cheat. I had classmates who did that so it is, in fact, a real thing.
obviously teaching is going to be stressful. but if you cant keep your shit and attitude and stress collected- DO. NOT. TEACH!!! honestly we don't even want to be at school lmao so oh whale. if a student has a service dog that clearly on the vest says "PTSD service dog" you SHOULD NOT yell at the student as that sends them into automatic panic attacks. you shouldn't yell at ANY student just because you are stressed. that isn't our fault. if you cant handle the stress DONT. TEACH! simple.
@@sophiarose7864 1)The stress is literally the students. Their behavior and attitude in class is the primary source of stress for teachers - I have certain students that I would very happily do without. Why should a teacher have to tolerate students cursing them out, disrespecting, and flat out ignoring them? People are constantly making excuses for student behavior saying that they are going through a lot and are stressed. 2) Not wanting to be at school notwithstanding, based on your grammar and punctuation, you really need to be there. It's "oh well", not "oh whale".
n yb i’m very aware that it’s “oh well”😂 i use “oh whale” because i think it’s funny lmao. and again, just because you have students that you could “do without” doesnt give you the right to yell at them. if the student is cursing you out, send them to detention or the principals. if the student isn’t paying attention or ignoring you, oh well. that’s not your education so let them not pay attention.
@@sophiarose7864 It is indeed a problem when they are making the classroom so loud that no one can hear the instructions. Reflexive defense of students is just as ridiculous as reflexive condemnation of anyone. I have literally had classes where I had to yell to be heard and a third of the class still could not hear me. Interestingly enough, most of the people I talk to who say "Just deal with it" or "Then don't teach" are the ones who are quickest to get pissed off at people for the kinds of things I deal with daily. If every teacher that ever gets frustrated and temperamental stopped teaching there would be no teachers. I am not defending unfounded, routine bullying or harassment of students, what I am defending is a teachers right to be human. Every single day I compartmentalize my interactions with students and classes. I can turn from one unbelievably obnoxious student who is pissing me off and interact with a different student with a blank slate. But sometimes it gets really damn hard.
Lol my past teacher had no control in his room (a lot of slurs were yelled in that classroom, which me, and anxiety ridden person who has been called many slurs doesn’t appreciate). He literally YELLED at me and my friend for READING...... *READING*
One day you will. Remember spay and neuter and take time to consider the kind of dog that would be best for you. High energy, low key ,small, large. It's a life commitment that is so rewarding
On breed don't fear the bully breeds and ones that typically are highlighted in the news. Example I have four pitbull lab mixes. They are sweethearts because they are well trained. One we think may have been a bait dog and he's the biggest teddy bear
DanielleTakesPics well yeah not during an exam.. But. After if their is still lecture when everyone is done.. If you submit your test and have to wait... Well you can use your cell while you wait...
At my highscool they sometimes allowed that, but at my college it does not matter if you are in possession of your test anymore or not. If you take out a device with a camera before the professor removes the tests from the room and gives the Ok OR you have fully exited the room you receive an automatic 0 on your exam for having your phone out during the exam, because the exam is still actively happening around you.. The Idea is if you have a camera out you can take a photo of the test and share them online or with other class sections, this forces the prof to make a new test on short notice. Or students would take turns turning the tests in first and then helping the person still testing google the answer in large lecture halls. I've had lectures with 200 people in them and students would be kicked out during a normal lecture for phone usage. & they would give info out in lectures you couldn't get anywhere else so you would miss exam questions for having your phone out in lecture. if an exam is anywhere near happening, phones out, your out, 0. One class made us lock all our belongings in a locker (that we had to pay for if we didn't want to leave literally everything we brought other than a key, ID ,and a testing book, electronic watches had to be removed) the locker was outside the classroom & during exams each row of students was video taped by like its own camera. We couldn't leave until at least an hour of testing had passed and the Tas dismissed the first "Group" if you weren't done then, you had to wait for the next dismissal group. The testing book was confiscated at the door for the next class and we received the books confiscated from the class before us that had been searched to make sure we didn't try to write notes in them. They checked each student as they entered the room. Some people snuck things in their pants, but if you dared to try to remove them before leaving the room, the cameras would catch you and auto 0, once again whether you had the test in front of you still or not. Also a lot of my profs will have us log into our online school page (Canvas) randomly enter a password they just said, then submit a word they just said, then they put the submission deadline a minute out so anyone not in the room looses attendance credit. If I'm absent to my smaller classes (70 people) where they take a normal attendance 3 times, I loose a full letter grade & if my grades dip below a 3.0 I get kicked out of my program. Those profs also often lock their doors when class starts, so tarty = absent. We never just leave lectures. My Hs was Wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more chill.
yeah my community college is laid back...but really you would leave the class after doing your test...and the professor would have a time when lecture would start again if it idid after the exam...either way college is a little more laid back from high school..
I just wanted to say this was filmed days ago, and everything is cool now!

From a legal standpoint she isn't supposed to even really acknowledge your dog with out your permission and you most likely can get her fired for ignorantly complaining about your dog tasking while you had a mini ep.
That's kind of stupid... You can't expect someone not acknowledging a giant hairy dog that on any normal circumstance wouldn't be in a classroom.
Daddy Hydron Yes you can. If everyone else in the classroom can ignore it, she can too.
Ross Berry I have it and I can’t stick up for myself it hurts😪

Should you pet a service dog?

Petting a service animal is the same as petting a wheelchair.
It's actually illegal to pet a service dog on duty. (Unless you have permission, but even then you shouldnt pet it)
For some reason all of the interpreters I've met are Highkey Stressed. They snap real quick. Which like idk why the deaf students are always super nice and friendly??? and then the interpreter's just there angsting in the corner feelin used like honey if you don't like it maybe you should get a different job

Service dogs are medical equipment. Kids wouldn’t go up to someone and start messing with they’re oxygen tubes or their wheelchair or their iv so don’t mess with the service dog
My comment section blew up with people trying to fight with me. Yes they are living creatures but when they are working in public they are considered medical equipment. And stop telling me to go take fucking meds. Thanks😊
mr. squidie no they’re not. They’re creatures like us. Not medical equipment. Take fucking meds and get over yourselves.

Not everyone was taught.
U mean ask the owner not the dog right
MissLilRedRooster CUTIES FOR YOU. so did my mom and when I did it once without telling, she slapped me and said “that’s rude, apologize now.” I now know XD
Osephinejay the interpreter is allowed to correct students
Kiddo K ... really? Cuz I thought that would make it pretty hard to sign which would stop the deaf student from being able to learn... I mean unless they somehow sign, bitch and listen at the same time which would make them the best multitasking person on the planet. 😑
True that yelling is not about learning.
DONT INTERFERE WITH MEDICAL CARE

I’ve had a conversation with my friend before when a service dog was at our tafe,
Me- ‘god dammit I wanna pat the dog so much 😭 but I know I can’t’
Friend- ‘ikr shouldn’t even try while they’re working, makes me want my dogs even more’
Me- ‘can’t interrupt a good dog doing its job no matter how much it hurts 😭😂’

Their owner was blind and that kinda made the situation more forceful in my mind, like they went past me later on and the dog brushed past me when I was waiting to be picked up and I kept as quiet and still as possible as to not disturb the dog and their owner.

I’ve got two dogs at home and i can’t even deny them pats, but even I know not to touch a service dog so why isn’t that obvious to some others?

A girl at my school has a service dog, and uhh long story (not) short- I was talking/walking with my friend to our next class when they pass by and my hand accidentally grazes the dog. I pulled my hand back confused, until I realized it was the service dog. The girl apologized and I felt SO bad, it wasn’t anyone’s fault really, I just felt guilty for having my hand in the way....?

That is crazy. Did that incident with the phone happen in an american school?
No, British school. Class ends when it ends, not 10 minutes from the end and we weren't allowed phones. At all. Not even at break times. (like we could have them in our bag for the end of the day but during school time they had t be switched off and put away)
Sometimes teachers finish early. That's just how it is here.
Oh I get that, it just seems insane (my parents are both retired teachers and if they'd done that they'd have been hauled over the coals by the inspectors.

People need to see videos like this so they understand how wrong it is to pet or distract a service dog or yell at someone with ptsd

In my school, teachers could take your phone and turn it in at the office..

I wasn’t even on my phone. My teachers let us have it on our desk. It went off so I flipped it with the screen down and she told me to give it to her. And I go this is my property. I do not trust you with my phone nor do I trust the school. So I just left the classroom after she told me to either give it to her or leave.
Get a patch saying : Don’t tell me or my dog what to do and how to do my job !!!

The ones who want to pay attention and learn can't because of the select few who don't
Also, the yelling at you was not cool, but the no phones at all during a test is because the one who is done can be sending answers to those still working and they can sneak check and cheat. I had classmates who did that so it is, in fact, a real thing.
just if teachers dont want to deal with the issues that come with being a teacher then dont become a teacher
obviously teaching is going to be stressful. but if you cant keep your shit and attitude and stress collected- DO. NOT. TEACH!!! honestly we don't even want to be at school lmao so oh whale. if a student has a service dog that clearly on the vest says "PTSD service dog" you SHOULD NOT yell at the student as that sends them into automatic panic attacks. you shouldn't yell at ANY student just because you are stressed. that isn't our fault. if you cant handle the stress DONT. TEACH!
But sometimes it gets really damn hard.

the cellphone part is sooooo stupid....in college it would be fine....if anything you are allowed to leave after an exam...
My college wouldn't let you have a phone out during an exam, some classes allow you to leave but if the phone comes out before your out, automatic 0.
Uou can also in other schools leave just get it written as part of your services
