This is the type of category that I'm always interested in learning more about. It seems like a lot of the times when people talk about classy fragrances, they're just too much for the warm weather. And living in Arizona, I get far more use out of fresher/lighter fragrances. I love Dior Homme 2020, and really enjoyed the sample I had of H24, so these other ones in this video are definitely on my radar now.
Yes, JC! Someone giving some love to Houbigant DdV because it's an awesome old school/classic fragrance! There's an extreme version of it but nothing too noticeably different so get this one if you can. I too enjoy wearing this every now and then and for those that are wondering what it smells like, I get Drakkar Noir like scent profile, which I still wear today. Great list, JC!!
I have Rochas L’Homme - i like it a lot; it just doesn’t last long on my skin (I have the same problem with a lot of Chanel fragrances). Every time I use Rochas I go to town with it- like 12-15 sprays;) and then, after a few hours, I reapply;)
@@moustachio334 there is definitely no fake of a fragrance thats like 30 bucks already. Fakes are made of super popular, expensive or popular expensive niche fragrances. Aint no way the margine of profit is worth the effort to create a fake of a cheapie like rochas lhomme

Another great video Justin! I was happy to see you feature the Salvado Dali in one of your recent shorts. That's an interesting little fragrance isn't it-- quite the pepper bomb. With the warm seasons coming up would love to see a video featuring a top 10 green fragrances. They tend to be ignored by most of the community and I am personally growing to really appreciate them. I feel Rochas lhomme is pretty good and to me it reminds me very much of MFK amyris homme. I enjoy both of them. When I have to wear a classy frag in the summer I generally go for Tom ford for men edt Xerjoff nio Patrick by fragrances of Ireland Dolce and Gabbana pour homme Creed Erolfa Hermes terre d Hermes Eau intense vetiver Amouage beloved man
I pretty much despise TdH EDT, and I LOVE TdH Parfum, that I just smelled here on vacation in Waikiki at the Hermes store. SO much smoother and, to my nose, better blended and balanced. So, Mr. Copeland, you are correct again, sir!
Frapin - L'humaniste, Frédéric Malle - Gerannium pour monsieur, Pana Dora - Aqua de Dora, Tom Ford - Neroli portofino, Nikos - Sculpture 2022. Bought Mr Burberry a few weeks ago. It is okay, but nothing great.
I've been wearing Cartier Declaration EDT for at least 8 years. I love the parfum version as well. Rochas L'Homme is a great one as well. Outstanding video as usual!

Declaration is perfection in a bottle (cumin works great on my skin) and to me it smells so similar to Terre d'Hermes EDT, love both but Declaration comes less mature and more appropriate for daytime and for younger men

l'Homme Rochas punches way above its weight. That one pulls compliments better than some of my Guerlains. The heavy tonka drydown lasts for a long time and always makes me a little hungry.
Terre D'Hermes Parfum was such a love at first sniff for me & I'm so glad you were able to get a bottle. I enjoyed the EDT but nothing like the Pure Parfum. It's honestly become my benchmark for Designers. And like you, I find the Vetiver is toned down, on my skin it's by quite a bit. The spiciness for me is amped up a lot from the the EDT (though mine had to macerate for that to happen) & I often think it's the Cedar (though I could be wrong). It's also the 1 bottle that I wish I'd picked up the bigger bottle, I love it that much.
I like the Vikings but the projection and performance leave a lot to be desired. I have decants of both and I can’t justify a full bottle. Love the Burberry pick, Burberry Brit is also underrated.
I feel u on Viking Cologne. The dupes came too quickly. Originally there was a dirty orange type vibe to it which has now matured. I feel the original Viking does the same thing.

I also really like Illusione a lot. It's performance is either short or I go noseblind to the drydown, so I use it as a weekender and re-apply as needed while home or between errands.
Lhomme Rochas is very good fragrance i have it and got a complete from a older woman when i was going out after i put it on but on a closer encounter and I get some Iris note on it even do Iris was not listed as a note on it
You just put Creed Viking Cologne on my radar. I would love a more modern version of the og. I was just thinking about getting AHS but CVC would be on another level and classy of course 😊

Yo! Sample those first if you can. I haven’t tried 1M Parfum, and I have the Roja and Chanel. The latter doesn’t excite me (Chanel), and the former smells fantastic but many people complain about performance.

I have stopped buying designers unless they have a unique note that any other niche brand doesnt make use of e.g. Joop Splash. With that, only Duc de Vervins, Chez Bond and Viking Cologne are what i basically took away from your list ✌️ JC, by any chance have you tried Baldessarini Ultimate? The Fragrance Apprentice claims it smells like Creed Viking Cologne and is a brand i dont really want to spend money on 😅 I know you dont support clones by default but given my budget restrictions i just wanted to ask your comment on this if you have tried it. Terre parfum is much nicer to me than the Edt for the same reason. I remember testing the Edt on skin and loving it for about an hour and then hating it for the flint note.
Wow, I smelled Illusione last month! Like you, I liked it but didn't love it.. Very different from the Botega DNA, maybe that's why it threw me off a bit. Mr. Burbery is lovely, have to revisit the edt and the edp. Have to revisit the L'homme Rochas I wonder how it compares with CK's Escape. I liked the Eau Givree and the H24 EDP more than the H24 edt. As for Declaration, I also liked the EDP more, the cardamom (not the cumin) is too forward in the edt. Viking cologne is very nice on paper and skin but have to give it a full wear. As for dior homme, I liked the sports more. Terre D'Hermes EDP: wow!! My edt bottle that I had since 2006 is nearly finished now. Will surely try next chance I have. I rediscovered Escape for men from CK ( a vintage bottle), good stuff. Fruity fresh with woods and pines and hints of the sea. Very good for summer I think.
Looked up Houbigant Duc de Vervins, and of course there's oakmoss in the base. Didn't the real oakmoss have to be replaced with synthetics? I'd think most reformulations came from changes in regulations or because of issues with suppliers. It sounds ok, bottle looks nice too. Personally, I still think H24 is just a terrible mess, like sticking a knife in my nostrils. But if anyone enjoys it, go for it. Don't assume it's a safe blind buy. (And I have other scents with metallic notes that I do like. What they all do have in common is that they're not H24.) Loved the background music, even though it's pretty faint in the background. Wouldn't do to make it obnoxiously loud, though.
I struggle with this category. I enjoy freshies, but after the opening, I seem to get bored. Definitely on dry down, if it's still not strong, I get almost frustrated. I never want to wear anything too 'fancy' for work since during the week I work from home, so I'll put on things like D&G Light Blue Intense or Ferragamo Acqua Essenziale Blu just for me, and by the end of the day, you'd think it was never good enough and I'm spraying something else on. How do you avoid this? Why do I like Ultra Male or 1 Million Elixir or Dior Homme Sport 2021 over the basic stuff that I want to appreciate, many times due to cost, but get bored of?

I used up my decant of THD P And thought it was nice. Fast forward a year and a half later I’m at the duty free shop on a cruise ship and I smell it and it blows me away. This will be my next purchase. Have you tried the new Isola Blu by Roja? Heard it’s Oligarch and want to know what you think since they don’t offer it as a travel size right now.

Good list. Dior Homme 2020 would be the king of current versatility on scent alone. A humble but excellent, safe all around scent but its performance is not good. Its gone inside of 2 hours. A skin scent. Back to the nose blind debate...a friend gave me some samples from Orto Parisi. They come in a cardboard box with a little round globule like medicine sort of tab thing. You can't reseal it. I was careful but still some got on one of my drum notebooks that is precious to me as it has a lot of by hand transcribed songs I use for students. It reeks. Its been over a week and it still smells. And not in a good way unfortunately. A metaphor for a common life experience: Great scents that perform badly. Bad scents that perform phenomenally...how it is.

I enjoyed the presentation and I also blind bought H24 EDT while shopping at Sephora. EDT or EDP you really can't go wrong with either.

Houbigants Duc De Vervins L'Extreme is longer lasting classy fougere.
Through accident I layered Creed Viking with Terre D’Hermes Parfum and the combination is amazing and I’m not the biggest fan of Viking.

I have Rochas L'Homme to my brother. Felt a little underwhelming, a different twist on a blue frag that didn't really feel new.

That’s exactly what you have to do with that lovely fragrance. Wear it with you so you can reapply every two hours or so

Declaration Haute Faicheur might be a better summer scent than the edt

bottega veneta is missing, its a gentlemanly classic, and dior sauvage elixir is great also.
I have them both, and yes they are classy. But I was sticking to fragrances that Buy Beauty featured in their catalog, and they did not have those.

Expensive is relative. There are definitely different price brackets for niche. Some can be found for just under $100 (Essential Parfums).

@@theprosperingfool I haven’t spent enough time with Masculin Pluriel to say for sure. But I have heard accounts that they are similar. Sample the Burberry first if you’re interested.

Dior Homme 2020 would be the king of current versatility on scent alone. A humble but excellent, safe all around scent but its performance is not good. Its gone inside of 2 hours. A skin scent. Back to the nose blind debate...a friend gave me some samples from Orto Parisi. They come in a cardboard box with a little round globule like medicine sort of tab thing. You can't reseal it. I was careful but still some got on one of my drum notebooks that is precious to me as it has a lot of by hand transcribed songs I use for students. It reeks. Its been over a week and it still smells. And not in a good way unfortunately.
