Creekside Camping and 4x4 Near Morenci, Arizona

- We head out to Morenci, AZ for a camping adventure with friends. We started our search for camp in the dark and work up the next morning in awe of our surroundings. We did some further exploring and came up on a bat cave. Back at camp we relax in the river and enjoy the evening. Next day we head back home and get to see the trail we traveled in the dark. 4-28-23 to 4-30-23

You guys were by the old village that was in that creek. There's a couple of broke down houses,jail and a post office.

Lower Eagle Creek. Last time I was there was 1982 before I went into the Air Force. If you would have continued on, you would have hit the Gila River and then continued on to Safford Az. Nice video.
Would that be on the East side of the Galuro Mts? Have y’all ever checked out Aravaipa Canyon, on the west side of Galuro’s? Beautiful, like this.👍
Yes this would be way more to the East. We were just in Aravaipa canyon for a few nights about a month ago. Very beautiful but not as rugged as this!

Did you guys find the hot springs by chance ? You guys were super close too it
I really wanted to, but camp was a bit far and we never ended up having the time to get back over there as the group wanted to explore further down the river. Next time we need to make it a point!

No. Saw one big fish swimming in the river one morning but didn’t think there’d even be any fish at all lol.
There’s some big catfish down there,also lots of small mouth bass and sunfish.
What trail is this and how do you access it?

I don’t want to give exact location but it’s out past the morenci mine area.
Look up Red Ghost of Arizona. It killed a ranch woman down there in the late 1800's. There's still an unsolved mystery about it. Lower Eagle is Gorgeous!
