This fan made game is a favorite of mine. I like it's soundtrack. My favorite song is the music for the second stage in the cavern world. It's a Donkey Kong Land 1 remix but it is made to sound more cold and atmospheric. The song was done well to compliment the echoes of the cold crystal cave setting.

Other than the slightly lackluster versions of the Koopalings, this game makes up for it with great use of parallax scrolling and amazing music, as well as good use of new powerups (the Bubblower and the Freeze Flower, are very good) making it one of the best Mario World Hacks out there. If i get the right tools, I just might consider getting this...

I must have heard this in another SMW hack, because I've never played Donkey Kong Land. It did sound like Donkey Kong though, I originally thought this track was from Donkey Kong Country 2 or 3, but had no luck when I looked in those soundtracks.

Very nice music and edited sprites. I actually don't think the game itself reflects this enough, what i mean is the gameplay in some of the stages is far too intense imo. I'd like to see some more relaxed fun gameplay ala 3D world. Maybe a cutscene or two. A lot of work clearly went into this however, so i guess I'd give it an A for effort. Especially considering the vast themes and world maps etc, they're very good. Now I'm waiting for Nintendo to do a SEGA and release a Mario Mania
It's funny because I know of people who prefer the Fire Flower over the Ice Flower in the NSMB games, but in New Super Mario World, it seems by far the best choice. Freezing Chucks with one ice ball is pretty useful.
