Check if file transfer is working, if it's not change USB cable. Also, check if the green light is stayed on when at flash mode. Please read this video's description fully. Connect using type c to type c cable if your PC has a type c port. That works. Also, try changing between USB 2 and USB 3.0 ports. This error can also occur if your phone is locked by the carrier, which is rare in Xperia 5 phones. In that case, you can't do anything before requesting the carrier, for network unlocking.
You should choose SOV41. I had 901SO before, still chose SOV41 and it was flashed successfully, also phone was updated to Android 11, while 901SO was stuck at Android 10.

Unfortunately there is no Indian firmware to flash as this model was never released in India. If you flash any ROM like this, all files will get erased and if it bricks, just flash the XQ-AT51 firmware.

That means you bought it without carrier unlocking. If the phone is not factory unlocked or you didn't request docomo to network unlock your phone, it can't be flashed.
Open dialer and put *#***#7378423**#*#* , then service info>simlock. There are 5 numbers, if all of them are 0, then there is no simlock, if any of them is something more than 0, you've Got simlock

The patch files were taken from other Xperia ROMs with VoLTE. For example, Sony Xperia XZ2 Dual SIM variant was released in India with VoLTE support. If we want to get VoLTE in International variant of the XZ2 Dual, just download the Indian ROM, get the 2 sin files and replace it in the global ROM folder and flah. You can use the files I linked in the description or get sin files from other Xperia phones. If you are lucky it will work, if not you will be greeted with global ROM without VoLTE. In the worst case if anything goes wrong/device is bricked, read the description of this video.
If it's carrier unlocked, there is a possibility. Global ROMs support every SIM in my country. Not sure about yours. If one doesn't work, just flash another.
Yes, download Xperia Xperia 1>SOV40 ROM from Xperifirm and replace with the files linked in the description. The flashed ROM is bloatware free like global ROM, same steps. But VoLTE seems not working on my device. No other difference.

Sadly, Xperia 8 is officially released only in Japan. There is no global ROM for it. However, you can use ADB App Control to uninstall bloatware.

That means you bought it without carrier unlocking. If the phone is not factory unlocked or you didn't request docomo to network unlock your phone, it can't be flashed.

No. This smartphone is equipped with Snapdragon 855 SoC which doesn't have any 5G modem built in and Sony didn't placed any dedicated 5G modem in it.

@@arceuscream875 Okay, you have Xperia 5 II. Not Xperia 5. Technically, it should work. Maybe you can download and test US or other Global ROM because Japanese carriers use different 5G bands.

No need to unlock bootloader. Even though it is primarily a SOV ROM, after removing that 2 apps, it's almost exactly same as Global ROM.

The patch files were taken from other Xperia ROMs with VoLTE. For example, Sony Xperia XZ2 Dual SIM variant was released in India with VoLTE support. If we want to get VoLTE in International variant of the XZ2 Dual, just download the Indian ROM, get the 2 sin files and replace it in the global ROM folder and flah.
You can use the files I linked in the description or get sin files from other Xperia phones. If you are lucky it will work, if not you will be greeted with global ROM without VoLTE. In the worst case if anything goes wrong/device is bricked, read the description of this video.

If it's carrier unlocked, there is a possibility. Global ROMs support every SIM in my country. Not sure about yours. If one doesn't work, just flash another.

@@ThanhTran-xe1vv Docomo devices are very restricted while flashing other ROMs. Difficult to do unless bootloader is unlocked. Try downloading ROM file of docomo from Xperifirm, replace OEM files from ROM of any SEA country and try flashing using newflasher.
