the first two villagers will always be one uchi and one sporty, so there is a legitimate chance of getting both Cherry and Scoot as starting villagers

I got Scoot when I started the game up, and I couldn’t help but laugh knowing I got Scoot before Vinny did. What’s even funnier is that Scoot gave me a hat that looks just like Vinny’s.

I made the mistake of picking up every available weed and selling them before finding out that you can actually use them for stuff.
I feel not smart.
I've only found 2 items that I can craft with them so far in the first 2 days. Also while crafting with weeds yields more value than selling them directly, you get nook miles for selling weeds.
So I wouldn't feel bad about it, you've just put in some extra progress on your nook miles awards.

I transformed most of the weed into umbrellas, to double the bell value. Learn after that you could get miles by selling the weeds.
Nook said the support is included in the “island package” or whatever - does that mean people who don’t select that particular package are kind of just stranded there, without any kind of support?
All the people who fail to pay their debt in a timely manner are dropped onto an island in their sleep, one that contains no food, water or support.
I imagine the 'Island Package' is the only option. Pretty sure Tom Nook owns every island in the world.

I notice when you use a nookmile ticket to visit another island it's just like a small island with one villager there with very sad music playing
im guessing those are the ones who didn't get the full island package-
and once you leave the pilot burns the flight map there for "legal reasons" so you can never see them again.
I knew the logos were gonna be switched. Just like with Yoshi and Sekiro.
And yet the Twitch ticker said "Animal Crossing: Eternal" and "Doom: New Horizons" when Vinny streamed them live. One one hand I'm impressed that the logos were changed at all, yet on the other hand I'm alittle disappointed the titles are not faithful to the Vinesauce source material. Either way, I'm happy time and effort goes into making quality thumbnail at all.
@@rockinrootbeer1795 the logos were made prior to that and were posted months ago on the booru. Vinny was the one not following thr sauce material.

I like to think that all the Animal Crossing games are chronological:
The first game, you started as a naive kid who let a cat of questionable morals arrange for your housing and places you in a cycle of debt to a racoon. After defaulting on a payment you hitch a ride on the train to escape. You answer the call to adventure in the wild world where you shack up with other humans also fleeing from debt collectors. When the heat dies down, you wish to start over in the city and head to the capital. Life in the city is full of excitement and possibility until you run into....Tom Nook! He hasn't forgotten your debt and calls for your arrest.
Years pass in jail. When you are finally released, you find yourself on a bus headed God knows where. You silently promise to turn over a new leaf and live as a productive member of society. The bus drops you off at a small town where you are believed to be the new town mayor the folks have been anxiously awaiting. You have never been in charge of anything before but decide to give it a shot. The town flourishes under your leadership until you lose interest in your job as mayor. Your secretary, Isabell tries to maintain order but chaos breaks loose. You flee in the dead of night while contemplating your options. So much for that...
At a bus stop, you see an advertisement for an island for sale. Which brings us to our current story...

I played this game for less than two hours so far and I've already got the first debt paid, a chunk of that was spent fucking around with custom designs and stuff too lol. Guess I'm waiting until tomorrow for stuff to happen but it'll be cool.
Same. I've already bought a Nook Miles Ticket and have payed off my debt as well as getting a fair few goals accomplished and the tool ring unlocked, but my having gotten a physical copy means I have only experienced one "cycle" instead of two, meaning stuff won't really pick up until tomorrow.

I actually got both the first and second debt finished in one day, apparently the game counts the next day sometime in the morning, as I played around midnight till 2am, and my tent was upgraded when I woke up later at 7am.

the term vinny was looking for was "fresnel" or "speculars," for light hitting something at an oblique angle (possibly also rim lighting, which is a related effect present in this and a lot of modern games). volumetric lighting is like sunrays and shit, where you can see the rays of light in 3d space because they move through a translucent medium like fog, dust or plastic

RIP, no immediate Scoot or Cherry. I myself got a dog called Mac and Fuchsia the deer. Been having a swell time so far, even if I have to wait until tomorrow to do some more progress. I got a pile of fish and bugs outside my tent waiting for Blathers to turn up. So far it seems like an even more polished, cleaner New Leaf and I'm stoked to play more.
Fuchsia is super cute, I'll get my game tomorrow and I'm already excited to see who my villagers are :)

I actually got Cherry as one of my starting Islanders and I wasn't sure if I should be laughing or crying.

was resetting for cherries or pears(ended up with cherries also) and a nice map and saw scoot and had to keep it

I had Diva as a villager once, back in New Leaf. I thought that she would be another fugly frog similar to Jambette, but Diva proved me wrong with her kindness in giving me medicine for a bee sting.
She gave me the recipe in my playthrough so far.
Not gonna lie I'm almost more excited to watch Vinny play this game and come up with stories for the characters than I am to play this game myself. Almost.
I really want to see how Vinny decorates and terraforms his island. He already named it Hoor Island, so that's a good start.

My play session has consisted of making various patterns and getting stung by wasps.
I love bugs, but come on game, how fast are these lasses now? I can’t get enough time in to get out my net, even with the dial!
I usually have the net out before shaking trees just in case^^
Yeah the only way to catch them now is to always shake trees with a net. Old tricks to swap to a net and easily catch them don't work in New Horizons.
I still catch them by running north and opening my inventory, but the game doesn't register catching wasps that way if you are hoping to get miles out of it.
@@jasonbaterna9792 Yeah I was actually wrong, you can still do the old trick but it's more difficult than I remember it being.
Shaking the tree with the net out, centered on the front, with the bottom corners cleared of any weeds/branches seems to be the best and easiest way now, and makes it almost impossible to not catch them.
You just need to be careful about blocking the corners, as the hives always fall to the lower corner of the tree (think of trees as a 3x3 object with the tree in the center) opposite of where you are. So if you do it centered, it'll fall to either side and you can just mash the button to swing your net and automatically catch them as soon as the animation ends.

This is the most amazing day ever, I don't have the money for a switch but if I had I'd buy it just for this game.
