These highlights are a little weird. Until the end, they showed hardly any shots by Oi outside of his misses. It was nearly all Filler run outs. But for the score being shown, you’d swear Filler was winning handily.
Just wanted to type the same comment. I thought Filler was dominating like Kazakis did with SVB at the Masters, then I looked at the scoreboard lmao

@@haies09 if he's not winning titles and tournaments ....he definitely is not a beast..I think that guy got a little excited..lol Strickland, Rodney Morris, Efron, Shane van boning, Joshua filler... I could go on and on...I sure I won't be mentioning sossei..lol he did play good though.

Yes, Oi has played really good. The only thing that messes up his game is his mental game, I think on certain shots he gets very nervous and can't keep himself calm. Terrific player nonetheless

The song Naoyuki sang during his interview goes like this (written somewhat phonetically) :
"Hen na o ji san da ka ra hen na o ji san (repeats this a few times)
DA HN DA"
It roughly translates into "What a dirty old man, wow what a dirty old man.. woooo!"
It was inspired by the late Japanese comedian Ken Shimura and Oi was paying homage to Shimura bc he died from COVID last year.
Hope this helps put some method to Oi's madness in perspective.

変な意味では無いのですが、他のプレーヤーを観ていると、プレー自体は完璧で文句の付けようが無いのですが
何故か(その様に務めてしているのかも知れませんが…)無機質な感じ？
ロボットがプレーしているかの様な…、体温が感じられないと言うか…なんと言ったら良いのかわかりませんが…
対して大井プロは、人間味のあるプレー！ビリヤードに対する情熱！スピリッツをかんじました。
途中、ファンの方？からの声援！も、その様なスピリッツを感じ取れる人が世界中に沢山いると思います。
日本人のビリヤードファンとしては誇らしく思う反面、大井プロが遠くに離れていく様なさみしさも有るのですが、
これからも日本の代表的なプールプレーヤーとして、頑張って下さい。

What was the reason to have Sossei v Capito on the main table?
To give some lesser known players a moment in the spotlight
LMAO, new faces, Capito is a good looking young man from an Asian country, Hongkong/China, plus he has Philippines blood as well, so it's good for TV exposure, people from Asia will watch, companies from Asia will take a look to advertise, TV channels from Asian will look, that's how they can sell more TV licensing and grow the sport, you don't want to see American and European all the time

I want Gomez also. I lived in the Philippines in 2007 when he had that heartbreaking loss in Manila in the final against Daryl Peach, an Englishman. It would be a sweet victory for him to finally win it in England.

@@romeollenes Well, you're right about those things. The truth is, I don't much like Gomez for exactly those reasons and I feel the same about De Luna. I'd much rather see Corteza, Ignacio, Chua or some others representing the Philippines. Still, it would tickle me no end if Gomez won in England. Too bad no Englishmen are left to make it to the final against him. Now that really would be redemption for Roberto, ha, ha, ha.

@Rob Younis Yeah it's kind of silly when they have the three-point rule but I'm sure the ref is just following protocol that's been handed down from... somewhere. Or wait... so they're not adhering to the three point rule?

yeah, the celebration was totally acceptable
He was warning them about the power of their break not the celebration. He told Filler earlier on when he thought he was breaking too soft, and later told Oi when he felt he was starting to break soft. Regardless of if they were putting enough power into the break or not, it is left to the referees discretion to make that call.
