Remember, they're not suggesting you never eat these items, just make sure it's in moderation. Once a week is a rough general consensus by actual doctors and medical researchers. Food is extremely important to our brains and our emotions. And because of all the reasons described in the video, unless specifically ordered by a doctor, people who have an 'off diet' day once a week are MUCH more likely to stick to their meal plans as they get to have some of the delicious but terrible for you food once in a while, instead of never again. Quitting cold turkey is admirable I guess, but it's much more difficult and has a much larger chance of failure. So, just go once a week and don't worry about it as much. Plus, who doesn't want a burger and shake maybe once a month? That stuff's delicious.

At Braum's, as I was eating, I thought I ran into some exceptionally crunchy onions, but realized quickly that what I was chewing was inedible, and I found sliced pieces of a plastic tab in my burger. Have always struggled with weight, last 8 years I've lost 50lbs, and the only way to keep it off has been to swear off fast food. It's addictive and one "fast food" cheat meal brings me down a spiral of bad habbits and addiction. Fast Food is addictive, we need to TEACH people this.
They used to ask "would you like fries with that" but now they ask "would you like to make it a combo".

In Europe it's actually the other way around. Our fast food meal and beverage sizes have gone smaller but more expensive ☹️
Same in South America. Mc Donald’s and its competitors are more expensive than quality food.

Maybe over a 50 year span, sizes have gotten bigger in America, but in the last 5-10 years sizes have definitely gone down while prices went up

I live in a small apartment with not a lot of kitchen space, so I eat fast food more often than I should. But I usually only eat once a day, with maybe a few snacks at work in between.

i once found half of a plastic spoon in a McDouble, like it was just melted into the cheese. I discovered it after i crunched into it. I now ALWAYS open the burger first and check it before i eat it.

I could be remembering it wrong but she was a lawsuit scammer or something and thought she'd make a bunch of money from the case, but they ended up tracking the finger back to the actual owner of it who didn't work at any of the fast food factories so she got caught. I think in the end she ended up getting sued for defamation instead (and rightfully so).
I could be remembering the case wrong or mixing it with a similar one cause I'm pretty sick right now so take me with a grain of salt right now 😂

Just watched the fast food challenge video, now on to this.
This is the biggest reason why I only buy what I need when I go out to eat. If I go to McDonald's I'm always going to probably get the same thing which is a double cheeseburger a medium frying a medium Coke because that's all I need. I don't buy more food than necessary because I know it's a waste of time

I literally haven't eaten at a fast food restaurant in years, not since I became a vegetarian back in 2015. They usually don't offer many vegetarian options, so I prefer to just make my own food at home.

Most of the food I eat (pizza, pasta and select desserts especially) I make in my own “laboratory” (aka ones kitchen). For example the pasta I get the ingredients from one of my friends (through work) who is amish (primary dairy) and/or other farmers near by (for example farmers market), my back garden for garlic ( I prefer a garlic and/or cheese sauce instead of standard tomato sauce) and various spices and herbs. The non-natural is primarily tap water.

The video says that there are potentially parts from hundreds of different cows in a single burger (in reality its likely more) but that doesn't make it potentially more dangerous than eating a steak (one cow). If you think about it, it does make it more dangerous because the chance that you might ingest a cow with some kind of disease or bacterial infection exponentially increases.

I work at a fast food restaurant. After not eating any sugar or fast food for years i decided I was hungry and I'd get some food from work, I got diarrhea and threw everything up....
I, essentially, never eat anything from any restaurant. When I do, it's either pizza or Chinese food. Yes, I have my share of junk food, but I am more of a healthy eater. My diet consists of fruits, vegetables, lunch meats, and bread. That is healthy. No need for McDonalds, Burger King, and the like.

I only eat once a day. I'd personally prefer to get my calories all at once.
I have to fact check you. I know chicken hotdogs use the entire carcass after the meat has been removed to make their bologna products. I know because I worked in a plant that made it. All the leftover skin, fat, cartilage, at least one glove (sorry), and some bone is ground to a paste, then 'poured' into plastic lined boxes, loaded onto a pallet and from there I don't know. All the really gross stuff (innards) was actually processed and fed back to the next generation of chickens in their feed.
In texas, whataburger has a child size (16oz), small (20oz), medium (32oz), and a large is a 44 OUNCE!!

"the portions keep getting bigger" nope, i'm old enough to know that during the last 30 years portions WERE getting bigger, but due to all of the inflation most fast food and other quick service chains have been employing shrinkflation where the prices stay the same or go up and the portion sizes go down to try to hide the new higher cost. and it's not just food, cars and all other products we buy like appliances and furniture are made with cheaper materials, cheaper 3rd world labor and many other shortcuts to keep prices seeming low or artificially low but still maximizing their profits. only in the last few years have some americans started understand inflation because it's happened more rapidly than in the past but most don't seem to realize it's been going on since the 70s and it's a big con making it seem like things are reasonably priced compared to the past when in fact they are simply made more artificial and cheaper overall which is why nothing lasts anymore and our food supply is completely toxic

I love it (not) when they say do you want medium or large? I called them on it and asked why they didn’t give us small as a choice when it is a choice. The server told me that the owner gets mad when they do. And so, I ordered a small.
Since I started working in fast food, I lost 70lbs, it's just about ignoring all the conditioning and eating smart, you can eat fast food every day and do fine
I agree you can still work in fast food and be healthy but I disagree about eating fast food everyday and doing fine as I think you wouldn’t get the ideal balance of nutrients to be healthy.

Fast food isn't cheap in Europe, at least not in Germany. Over the years the burgers grew smaller, but the price was raised. And of course the quality got even worse.
