Thank you for sharing your journey and the pros and cons of book keeping. I took a year leave from teaching to stay at home with our baby and I ended up resigning because I can’t imagine missing these years. Last week I enrolled in Book keeper Launch and will start my book keeping business by fall.

I don't think this will be an issue at all. Most business owners know that they need someone more techy and familiar with the software. I think it would actually be harder for someone who is in their 60s to instill confidence in their clients 🤷🏻♀️ It will only be an issue if you get in your head about it. I started this course, am in the transactions section and have a client already. Would you wait until you’re completely finished or start with them now?
Amazing! So many BL students get their first client before they finish the course but it's totally up to you if you start now or wait! Clean up is fairly straightforward (if they have bookkeeping clean up), depending on the client, so you could start with that and then do monthly bookkeeping after you finish the course or start now or wait! Not really a right or wrong answer, just depends on what you're comfortable with. Congrats on your first client! 🎉 very exciting.

I don't know you and am not even a bookkeeper, but I am a business owner and have a heart for single moms. I want to commend you for taking the course you are as it seems you are taking the steps necessary to support you and your child(ren) and I want to encourage you to keep going, never stop learning. It would be good for you to find the right mentor (Jess?) and to join groups and/or societies that help mold you and encourage you and to help you plan your next steps in your business and also to get clients. Fear is good as it is telling you that you're uncomfortable, but use it to get focused and raise your level of thinking so you can overcome it, which will ultimately help you become successful. You got this!
