For those crying "WALL HANGER!": yes, it is _still_ a wall hanger. But there are TWO kinds of wall hangers: the ones that *will* sooner or later break at the handle by their own weight if you swing them, _without_ need to hit anything (the point where the tang starts is the weakest part of a sword, and partial tangs just are not enough for a large blade); and the ones that *won't* (you'd need to _actually_ hit something to break them). He took a hanger of the first kind and turned into one of the second kind, using a technique (scarf-welding a full tang) that WAS used historically (many swords and sabers, up to Napoleonic times, had hard steel blades welded to softer iron tangs, PRECISELY because the sword is prone to failure at that point; better it bending than snapping). Good job on that. Have your 100th "like" for that. :-)
Agreed. This is a wall hanger. The steel is stainless which is NOT suitable for a sword. Even with the welds, it is not suitable even for light cutting. Stainless is too brittle for a sword. You keep cutting with that sword and mark my words, that blade will helicopter right out of the handle. That weld where the new tang is attached to the threaded end will NOT hold up to the rigors of cutting.
I have for all FAN big suprice ........ I have a NEW leather cover .... I think that Conan envy this cover :-D ....... it can use by belt, shoulder, pom horse, motorbike and runing or creeeping ....... soon I made a video of this
Nice work the cut and shunt s good but there is another way of doing it cut at a steep angle just one on the sword the same on doner. Tang join together and weld!

actually 4116 stainless is great for blades, is this that? doubt it...but still some forms of stainless are excellent
