    Very very important, don't forget to clean the oil holes on the pistons, they usually get clogged up, that's why H22s burn oil. In your video, you can see the holes at 5:49 when you were putting the rings on.

      So it's not the piston rings themselves, thats what everyone says? My 1999 Prelude burns a lot of oil and smokes.

    Great progress dude as mentioned in other comments I can agree a balance shaft delete would be a good addition
    As for my personal experience with my old Prelude build, is that I couldn't feel a difference with not having balance shafts in there in terms of engine harmonics, as they're put in the first place to stop vibrations during low speed cruising and idling. With that being said performance wise it's less rotational mass overall, so along with that new flywheel you will feel a pretty nice bump up in both acceleration and how to car "free revs" faster overall. The new oil pump is perfect for the balance shaft kit as you'll need to plug those holes with the provided hardware in the kit (where balance shaft(s) used to go). And what better candidate for ease of install than a brand new clean oil pump!
    I look forward to your future videos, and you really make me miss my Prelude. Keep up the grind, bro!

    Damn, nice bro. I have my JDM H22A in my '94 Accord since 2009 and it's still running strong no issues whatsoever. Might have to pull it out to re-ring and maybe run some JDM Type S 11:1 CR pistons. then do the balancer shaft delete to remove some weights, and replace all gasket. We'll see. Want to go K24A2 though.
    The two top rings are known as compression rings while the bottom is the oil control ring. :)
    Good job BTW.

    U should get new cylinder liners!!! When u change rings u must change cylinder liners on h22 too

    • @AaroKo
      @AaroKo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the H22 has FRM coating on the cylinder walls, they are not removable parts. The problem is that it is harder material than the piston rings and that's why they wear up faster. a Local machining shop could install aftermarket sleeves on top of those coated cylinders, but it is expensive. I think the cheapest would be to get F22/F23 block and do frankenstein build with H22 head.

    • @TorbCraft
      @TorbCraft 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah… This is the reason why I changed to F20b after I tore apart my H22. Wasn’t sure how long a cheap rebuild would last. These things are expensive! F20b really doesn’t feel much slower really…
